It would be nice if instead of nerfing existing changes and items, more new features were "invented" or "Discovered", this would reduce and sometimes increase the value of existing items and assets in the same way it happens in real life.

One post i would love to see in eve could go something like this:

“Scientists in Amarr space working closely with Capsuleers are pleased to announce an expected date for the first test of the cataclysm drive, a key component in the newly developed remote stargate deployment system.

Whilst the full effects of the drive are as yet unknown, it is certain that as the drive utilises 25% of the energy from a sun to propel a deployment probe into deep space, its use will be restricted to once in a system.

The probe can only be loosely aimed, so once fired will reach a distance of approximately 200light years and seek out the nearest star.

On reaching orbit of a star the probe will begin a 4 week cycle building a new long range stargate linked to the base in the originating system.

The long range stargates, powered by the star they orbit, will be permanent but will have lower capacity than existing ones, not allowing freighters and other ships above a certain mass. In light of this scientists are working on developing new nano carriers – battleship sized vessels capable of carrying 7 fighter s and a few frigates/destroyers.

This development is expected to allow for exploration into the unknown depths of space, albeit at a hefty price, the new stargates could lead to untold riches in new systems, create a permanent link to a wormhole system or even one day find inhabited systems and a way back to Earth.”

This would allow players to pick a system to explore from and would cost a ludicrous amount to buy restricting its use. And of course then making the launch system an extremely valuable asset that other alliances will want to take.

you mean all those "small alliances" under NCs skirt, blowing the fcking NC blob even bigger? They should die in fire!

To clarify, since a couple of people were asking. With this patch everyone will get a chance to re-sculpt their character. When you log in and select your character you will be asked if you want to enter character creator, and there you will be able to re-sculpt. You can also skip this step, for the time being or you can select permanently to not be asked again. Whatever you do, you will after this patch always have access to the re-customization service in stations, where you can change your clothes, hair and makeup, you can get piercings, tattoos, and even get scarified.

But re-sculpt can not be done in the re-customization after that one chance?

You get one re-sculpt, but you don't have to use it immediately. You can choose to not enter the character creator (or enter, play around with sculpting and customizing and then cancel your changes), and you will be given the option again next time you log in and select your character.

Just to clarify:

a) you get the re-sculpt you body once (aka, change your ugly face and make yourself buff)
b) you can change your clothes, get a haircut, piercings and pass out in the station tattoo parlor as many times as you want (and get a few scars from the barfight), but you can't change your "body" in the re-customization services?

0.0 needs to remain a place worth living in and defending, this patch to reduce the amount of Sanctums and Havens will have an impact on 0.0 dwellers as its already hard enough to earn in the poorer sec status systems. 0.0 systems where sanctums and Havens are detectable will be perma camped by black ops reds. And whilst we are on the subject of perma camping cloaky reds why dont you consider creating a probe that can scan down cloaked ships after they have been perma cloaked for over an hour or so or set a cloaking timer on the cloaking device itself ? Maybe they emit some kind of emission that can be scanned after a long time cloaked sat doing bugger all ?.

Just a thought

what about the portrait swap service? is it going back?

I made a portrait as the replacement, intending to use the service, but then realized the service was disabled.

I then tried to re-sculpt my original portrait (with GM help) but I could not repeat the portrait I made for swapping, there is something not right whatever I try.

So I still kept that swap portrait intending to use it when the service will be re-enabled ... is it coming?

there are already enough low truesec systems, just not for all the "small" fcking pets, they should go somewhere else or go kicking out their overlords if they want valuable space.
Its a good patch.

I'm afraid not, the portraits are all rendered by the server and are based on your character's data on sculpting, position, lighting, etc. But you will have more options now to decorate your face, and the overall performance of the character creator has been improved so it should be smoother to work with, and I hope you will be able to create a portrait you like after tomorrow's deployment.

so you macro mine amirite?

Nope. I don't even mine.

The changes are made that new alliances and corps can find a setting in null without having to lick. At the moment it's basically impossible. You really can't fund a sov without having some sov before that. Thus basically means merging into already rooted alliances, but it's not that often that they event want new corps. Basically meaning an alliance can completely shut down newcomers and deny them the resources. Yes, big alliances fight each others and so on, but a small corp/alliance has no footing in entering and keeping their own. You get the cap**** if you do. Yes, there are NPC null, but that's not really what it's all about.

What CCP wants is "crappy null" areas where the big alliances have no interest in, but small alliances/corps would still find them somewhat lucrative. I'm all for that.

You either have to make small alliances effective even vs. big alliances and well in truth...that could never work. Bigger alliance should ALWAYS mean more power. It's just about where they concentrate it. Having areas that have no interest to them would mean "void" areas. They did do that with WH's , but it's not really the same thing.

Eve evolves, get over it. They nerf something today, something else in a year. Just because you are the "toph dog" (alliance, corp, whatever) NOW doesn't mean you should be tomorrow.

I do understand the effect on macros and they **** me off, but I also understand the impact they would have on the economy if they were hammered down quickly. CCP HAS to create something to avoid the the economical crash. Thus, what they are doing now with the changes. When everything becomes more vidid and lively they can hammer down macros and it will only cause more turbulence in the economy, but it won't shut it down.

Think about macros as product piracy in the real world. If you would remove it 100% then half of China would be out of work. Same thing would happen in eve. Thus with alliances denying sov for the "workers" it would all crash down. One can't just go in guns blazing and shooting the bad guy who is holding the bomb. Yay,you killed him and everyone else. See the point?

I didn't read any of this but i'm sure its full of faint jabs about how i'll have to learn and grow in some manner from a cearbear with a total of two kills. You be pro at this game dood. Null sec is a wasteland even with the sanctums and havens as it sits. You've apparently never been to null sec, or you would know this. I make more money running hacking sites in low sec then i do wasting my time pvping over the 'true sec' value of a system. You of course don't know, because you didn't look before you spoke, that the vast majority of null sec IS WORTHLESS with this patch. (i.e. below -.30 truesec) Hubs spawn in every low sec system in empire. Not anymore mind you. nothing but a high sec insta scan will show up in low sec now. Way to bring the hammer down on everyone but the bears ccp.

I like the character thing though CCP.

If you are in serious about changes to the game why not consult the CSM first? If it is really a good idea, you'd at least seek multiple group's input rather than just making an arbitrary change. In an API verified poll, allowing each account to only vote once, 93% of those accounts are AGAINST the 0.0 nerf. 93%... not 53... not 73... 93%... CLEARLY it is a great idea....

WAKE UP CCP

Click this link if you think I'm full of crap about the 93% percent too...

If you disagree... vote for the changes

Indeed it is 94%... out of a total of 223 votes.
Curently there are 23357 pilots in tranquility, so yes, out of 1% of the current logged in popultaion, 94% of them are against the 0.0 nerf.

Majority of null is "worthless" for majority of small groups at the moment. Why, because they can't get there without getting ****d by caps (mostly because the major alliances have nothing better to do). The changes are making it possible to be in null as a small group.

you don't get that none on the major alliance will ever let a small alliance sit idle in the abandoned stretches of say i dunno, pure blind/provi/mostly anywhere in null. and the Space will be even more worthless to those smaller groups. Oh boy, they can maybe mine arkanor until CCP nerfs that too. why don't we just go back to taking sov with towers and the whole mucked up constellation sov system? OH BOY BELT RATING! At least I'm not an idiot.

You do understand than when certain areas comes lucrative the pressure will be there. The big alliances will be fighting over those and versus each others. Leaving the idle abandoned stretches for the drunken roams. The whole key CCP is driving is that the fights will be more localized. You really think the alliances will rather go on a bashing rampage over idle worthless territories when the lucrative areas are under attack?

The only question is that will there be enough fighting over the lucrative areas to leave the idle areas under the radar. As you said...the majority of null will become worthless to them.

Ps. Hey you read my post! So much for your last post then... Rolling Eyes (oh sorry, the second last post).

Dear CCP

I am no means a rich 0.0 dweller. I find pve content boring and repetitive, and I actually pay, not plex for my account when I dont have the isk (often the case). With this anom nerf we will actually be out of pocket for spending billions of our corp members isk on now worthless system upgrades.

Before you all start screaming and laughing, my corp recruits out of game and has a lot of new players, where we offer things like guides, frigate roams and skillbook packs. This not only hurts us dwellers who have lived out here for a long time, but also discourages those new players who actually have friends (i.e shurk, and test in general). This shortsighted nerf will not only backfire but will probably not cause the instability you greatly desire.

Did CCP greywolfRPERFURRY get his job via fellatio, because I wouldn't mind turning my hand to sucking some sausage if it would belay this patch and which would ultimately cause test alliance to seek other means to let our dissatisfaction known?

There is a lot of decent fixes with this patch but the reasoning behind the nerf is not only stupid, it is a gigantic waste of time for all those involved, including yourselves to believe this patch will change things for smaller alliances and whatnot.

There are already a few things they can do, like hangout in NPC 0.0, wormholes or running missions in empire, all of which now, will generate more isk than anomalies. Cool way of cutting everyone new to 0.0 in established alliances balls off guys.

This fixes some of the small things that's been annoying me, like not being able to strip fittings from a ship you aren't piloting, and repackaging lots of items, with out damaged items causing it all to fail.

About the ano nerf, all the hate about it does seem a little extreme. Not sure I care though. I lived in 0.0 before the sovereignty system changed, and I was able to fund my pvp'ing just fine. Though I do live in empire for the time being, I'm gonna move back out to 0.0 regardless of what they do to the anomalies, but maybe I don't feel the hate because I'm not going to miss them, because I never knew them in the first place.

ok so i read it. Anyway, you have no clue as to how people think. Even if the major blocks, north and south, don't occupy a space they will still claim dominion over those areas. Yes, they will use them as roaming areas.

Lets run down the check list to things you continue to be ignorant of:

Will they give up the stationed systems? No.
Will the blocks let anyone who just wanders in take sov? No.
Will the those true sec systems be perma camped and bubbled? Yes.
Do you know what your talking about? No.
Those quote lucrative areas can be camped but good luck getting through all the goons as their region is again the best in the game.
I liked the old sov system too but tower bashing is boring and afk defense roolz.
Will you stop hiding behind your alts? No.
PEOPLE DON'T FIGHT OVER SANCTUMS AND NEVER HAVE! PEOPLE FIGHT OVER THE MOONS, THATS IT! and it won't become worthless to the power blocks, it'll just be flat worthless to everyone. a small alliance is better off living in low sec and not spending billions of isk on pvp ships, broken sov mechanics and towers that will just die in a month. brains, you don't have them.

Soooooo...nice and all - but what about the Drone regions...? Rolling Eyes

We have one crappy 10/10 & bugged anoms, you are taking away the Hordes & Patrols from lower-sec systems with the promise that this is balanced by adding DED plexs...only we have no new DED plexes, no bosses - Sentient Drone that (never spawns for me anyway with my worst luck ever) drops worthless crap and 'may' yield decent t2 salvage is meh - no faction loot, no modules.

Horde/Patrol respawn time is borked now, if they even respawn at all. We have no decent radar or mag sites either, so thanks for this CCP - really looking forwards to sharing my bugged hordes with even more people in exchange for NO extra content.

Because they needed a ISK-sink.
The best way to create a ISK-sink is where the most people are, so everyone gets his fair share of sink and not one group has that burdon alone. So they nerf 0.0 since 80% are in Highsec... Oh, wait...
