Clearly CCP has listened to all the self-defeating arguments and decided to act accordingly.

Speed-nerf had an outcry of similar proportions and the game has become much better for it.

Its funny because all of the people with 2+ accounts are claiming they are going to cancel all of them, but in reality if they did, their lives would consist of potato chips and House re-runs

The speef nerf was unknown territory for the most part, no one knew how things would turn out. Reducing baseline 0.0 ratting incomes below those available in empire via lvl 4 missions is because because we KNOW it is bad. That's the way things were about a year and a half ago which a major patch, Dominion, was aimed at fixing.

Was trash sec 0.0 overly buffed? Perhaps. And there have been very good solutions in this thread for fixing that without turning back the clock (tieing anomoly BS rat value to true sec similar to belt ratting is my fave). The CCP change to 0.0 income is extreme and there's no balancing of lvl 4's to keep 0.0 relativly attractive compared to the safe earning grounds in empire

I'm sure there is a better way to fix this, however the massive ISK faucet had to be closed. Additionally, flat economic topology for 0.0 was doing nothing good for EVE's endgame.

With this change we're only back to the pre-Dominion methods of ISK generation at worst, with the possible benefit of smaller blobs and more 0.0 dynamism. Nothing so dramatic as to require a 70+ page threadnaught. All that shows is that players have become spoiled by easy income generation.

As far as fixing 0.0 though its back to the drawing board for CCP.

To clarify, since a couple of people were asking. With this patch everyone will get a chance to re-sculpt their character. When you log in and select your character you will be asked if you want to enter character creator, and there you will be able to re-sculpt. You can also skip this step, for the time being or you can select permanently to not be asked again. Whatever you do, you will after this patch always have access to the re-customization service in stations, where you can change your clothes, hair and makeup, you can get piercings, tattoos, and even get scarified.

Because re-sculpting my character was my top priority. I defiantly think that ignoring the thousands of complaints that have been voiced on the forum against the 0.0 nerf should completely warrant CCP ignoring them and addressing people's concerns for redoing their portrait...

If you are in serious about changes to the game why not consult the CSM first? If it is really a good idea, you'd at least seek multiple group's input rather than just making an arbitrary change. In an API verified poll, allowing each account to only vote once, 93% of those accounts are AGAINST the 0.0 nerf. 93%... not 53... not 73... 93%... CLEARLY it is a great idea....

WAKE UP CCP

Click this link if you think I'm full of crap about the 93% percent too...

I'm extremely against the 0.0 nerf. It's a bug "**** you" from CCP to it's players, and the trillions of isk and thousands of man hours expended to turn ****-hole space into something worthwhile.

However, polls are stupid. All you've proven is that 93% of people who agree with you, agree with you, and 7% of people trolling you are trolling you.

Also, I totally agree that CCP's refusal to address player concerns is another big "**** you" to us all regardless of the position any of us take on the issue. That the only dev response to the uproar on this godawful patch is "but you get a resculpt to make up for us betraying you, the people who have made what would otherwise be a ****ty bargain bin game into something great" adds only insult to injury.

LOL, your quite full of yourself. Yup, without the droves of whiny poor carebears in 0.0 who give oral pleasure to their ridiculously rich overlords for being able to attend CTA's. Get the money out of their pockets and remove this faucet.

BTW, in case you forgot, this game has a lot more to offer than just 0.0.

The only thing the game has to offer is the player interaction. Pong had better PVE. Asteroids had better mining. If I really wanted to sculpt I would buy some clay. The only value of EVE is the players, and CCP is giving all the players a big "**** you" with both the content of this patch, and how they are failing to respond to player concerns.

This patch would destroy/invalidate more assets of my small alliance than our worst enemy could have done ! And it outright drives our alliance out of 0.0 again as this space gets worthless for us ! So, if this idiocy gets through, I may consider disbanding my alliance and cancelling all of my subcriptions as I feel I do not want to continue playing and paying for a game whose operators f*ck on their playerbase ! It would have been different, nevertheless still stupid, if CCP gave at least enough time for all 0.0-dwellers to write off their stuff before it gets worthless crap !

As I see, many smaller alliances already have begun to pack their stuff and if this 0.0-nerf gets through, there will be a mass exodus out of 0.0.
That few existing -1.0 systems will permanently have some enemy afk cloak rapiers in them. And those systems will all be claimed by the regional masters, leaving the crap to all others.

Those few entities with their supercapital fleets will still have their supercapital fleets and control as well as share 0.0 amongst them. All the small dwellers will be out of business as they have no economical chance to step up into the prime league of those supercapital owners/reimbursers.

It is sad that people complain too much about things they bring to themselves. I am sure many people complaining about lag have tons of "daemons" and background processes running while playing EVE, and many isnt even aware of that or what daemons and bg processes are. I am sure a few even use media players, laggy voice 3rd party programs (yes, some of the most famous and free cause lag, and that is why they are free). I practice combat with my corp and other friends using 2 or even 3 EVE instances in the same PC with no lag in none of them, and I dont have the ultimate PC with ultimate NET.
Plus, you can spend some quality time checking out what the main menu (the one from ESC) can offer in performance enhancements if you still cant just kill some daemons or refrain to use other net/CPU consuming softwares while playing EVE.
About the "I pay I want", I hate that as much as I hate when my students (I am a teacher) try to start that "I pay you work for me". You dont like the game, dont play it. I am sure that if all players with that mind leaving, the ammount wont even scratch CCP earnings in EVE.
About the changes, I think some I like, some I dont, some I dont care, but mostly I see that people complain too much about personal desires rather than look at the big picture. No one ever makes everyone happy, and aim to the majority seems to be wiser than aim to all, and reach none.

But re-sculpt can not be done in the re-customization after that one chance?

While I agree that the 0.0 nerf bat has come down a bit hard (Been researching how to finally get in to 0.0 and things have just become very complicated) and that all your sites now suck big salty ones, can be really sucky. CCP could have at least said, hey we want to change this, this is where high end stuff will be, hey you are currently in a spot where you would not get any of the nice stuff you have come to rely on, we suggest you start looking here and here where we are planning on implementing the high end stuff.

Or maybe they can make it so that everyone starts with at least the same level of sites. Like, hey you are all now in a -0.3. Go and conquer more space at your leasure. But alas, they are giving the short stick to some and others won't have to move even.

But still, it would be nice if everyone could stop complaining. CCP may have had better options to choose from, they chose the wrong way to our eyes. Maybe there is even valid reason for it in relation to keeping the game going! Ever thought that they need to keep their business model running? It has to change and evolve with time or else it is going to die and instead of you rage quiting you wil be FORCE QUITED when the game dies. It needs to keep up with the standards such as the likes of Rift and (yes I am going to say it) WoW.

So please stop whining about everything. You guys moan about LAG, CCP works on lag, you complain about the character creator, they make some changes to it and you complain about how they are wasting time on the character creator instead of lag. Give them a break and if they fix something that you complained about in the last patch (or at least if they start working on it), don't find something new to complain about, rather let them finish their jobs. CCP does listen to the players and every time they do, we, the players, simply find something new to complain about. So stop playing or stop complaining. Go do a better job yourself if you can.

CCP keep up the good work, but please do reconsider the 0.0 changes a bit harder and how it effects the current player base. They are just as important as new players and new business

Nope. I don't even mine.

The changes are made that new alliances and corps can find a setting in null without having to lick. At the moment it's basically impossible. You really can't fund a sov without having some sov before that. Thus basically means merging into already rooted alliances, but it's not that often that they event want new corps. Basically meaning an alliance can completely shut down newcomers and deny them the resources. Yes, big alliances fight each others and so on, but a small corp/alliance has no footing in entering and keeping their own. You get the cap**** if you do. Yes, there are NPC null, but that's not really what it's all about.

What CCP wants is "crappy null" areas where the big alliances have no interest in, but small alliances/corps would still find them somewhat lucrative. I'm all for that.

You either have to make small alliances effective even vs. big alliances and well in truth...that could never work. Bigger alliance should ALWAYS mean more power. It's just about where they concentrate it. Having areas that have no interest to them would mean "void" areas. They did do that with WH's , but it's not really the same thing.

Eve evolves, get over it. They nerf something today, something else in a year. Just because you are the "toph dog" (alliance, corp, whatever) NOW doesn't mean you should be tomorrow.

I do understand the effect on macros and they **** me off, but I also understand the impact they would have on the economy if they were hammered down quickly. CCP HAS to create something to avoid the the economical crash. Thus, what they are doing now with the changes. When everything becomes more vidid and lively they can hammer down macros and it will only cause more turbulence in the economy, but it won't shut it down.

Think about macros as product piracy in the real world. If you would remove it 100% then half of China would be out of work. Same thing would happen in eve. Thus with alliances denying sov for the "workers" it would all crash down. One can't just go in guns blazing and shooting the bad guy who is holding the bomb. Yay,you killed him and everyone else. See the point?
