An edge case is a problem or situation that occurs only at an extreme (maximum or minimum) operating parameter.

For example, a stereo speaker might distort audio when played at its maximum rated volume, even in the absence of other extreme settings or conditions.

An edge case can be expected or unexpected. In engineering, the process of planning for and gracefully addressing edge cases can be a significant task, and one that may be overlooked or underestimated. Non-trivial edge cases can result in a failure of the object being engineered that may not have been imagined during the design phase or anticipated as possible during normal use. For this reason, attempts to formalize good engineering practices often incorporate information about dealing with edge cases.

Why don't they put it on the log in screen?
Why don't they put it on this forum? it is the one that you are directed to from the log in screen?

LOL who cares if it affects a SMALL NUMBER let the rest of us play and the SMALL NUMBER deal with it

well..i dont know where to start really. why keep taking stuff OUT of this great game, first ccp nerfed the salvage from ppl in high sec,now we are loseing the sanctums, and havens in our lil system? wtf,ccp needs to stop taking stuff from the ppl who make this game as awesome as it is. "if it AINT broke DONT fix it",new ded sites? so theres actually gonna be deds that have proper numbers like 1/10 2/10 3/10...etc? that right there should have been fixed a long time a galaxy far far away :)

CCP and Affiliates,

As i sit here and watch some of these guys complain about problems that I am sure that they take no active part in fixing, and probably overload their own line with 3-5 characters at a time, then complain about lag!!! I do also stress people to look into what is involved in allocating resources to support a massive amount of players at a time. To keep it simple we love what you guys do and appreciate the intense effort that you reflect. I dont't post very often unless I see something offensive or a problem that I can resolve. So anyway don't let these boneheads drag you down and keep doing what you're doing cause the rest of the us that are not running their mouths are perfectly content.

Thanks Again for well-rendered, continuously evolving Universe that you let us play in!!

In all honesty, you really need to give props to CCP for the way they handle their customers on patch day. Not only do they get updates if they are going to be longer than their displayed time, but they aren't ridiculous updates like 30 minutes later when they know they will take 3 hours.

Anyone who has ever dealt with World of Warcraft and Blizzard on some of their patch days know the horror that is coming back to the computer every hour only to realize that the patch deployment has been delayed another hour. At least now, with their update at 18:00 UTC, you have some time to do things like maybe errands, clean the house a bit or whatever. With Blizzard, they keep you on the edge of your seat for hours on end making you think that you're gunna be able to log on within the hour, only to be told it's going to be yet another hour. Blizzard has done this so many times on patch days that they just no longer give ETAs because they NEVER meet them. Also have to realize that CCP is dealing with a very large server and patches don't always go as planned. They also aren't the largest company.

So, again, props to CCP and their customer service values. Would gladly pay a yearly fee for all my accounts if I didn't have the ISK before I even thought of paying for even one month of WoW.

Delayed till 18:00... bleh.

Nothing to be done I suppose.

-Passes out cigs and coffee.-

A patient line of thought did cross,
One dreary April morn,
Thread full of naught for CCP,
But angsty rage and scorn.

With sigh and weary eye,
To youtube I did turn.
New yogscast episodes for me to watch,
Quicker to make ornery time burn.

I loves it I do :)

Nothing unusual on this thread for a patch day however I feel some of the whiners have been unanswered and deserve a response really :P the posts Iím talking about is those asking for refund/compensation for the downtime, normally some smarty pants throws out some simple maths to explain what they would be entitled to resulting in just a few cents, please oh please can someone post that message with the calculations I love it :)

$15 per month x 12 months = $180

$180 divided by 365 days in a year = 0.49 cents per day

0.49 cents divided by 24 hours in a day = 0.02 cents per hour

Downtime at worst going to be 10 hours

10 hours x 0.02 cents = 0.20 cents refund due, mail me your paypal account and Iíll send it right away :)

Look at me maa i did some maths yay for me
