But on a more constructive note, if you do want arena style pvp, organize it yourself with prizes. Nothing is stopping you. You could even make some money off of betting ( anyone? I've always wondered why someone hasn't done this already).
lack of finances...
would you be willing and able to finance something like that?

PvP'ers....are usually in pvp corps/alliances. they don't need zones....off gates in low sec or blow crap up anywhere you want in 0.0. They have this already. From official in house tourneys down to the plain ole I want to test this fit out, who wants to meet me at p-m or outside station and 1v1. have seen these fit tests turn into 2v2 and such. first to structure loses, have a nice day. Tourneys inhouse I saw were ship pops but no pod killing.
Empire in corp this can be done just as well. Not in corp....everyone in bracket drops and flip cans till all parties all nice and red to each other.
Especially the fact it's already been done in all sorts of "unofficial" manners and the popularity of alliance tournament should point out the need for a more official setting for this.
It would also allow far more interaction between corporations without the burden of all the logistics that are sometimes involved.
Whether or not people accept it, the truth is that, no matter how complex EVE is, it still lacks some of the tools it needs before being able to leave everything in the hands of the players.
Yes, it can be done with the tools we have, but that doesn't mean it's the best way to do it or that it can't be done better

This has been suggested many times but will never happen. Why? It will make low and null sec almost entirely empty.
Am I to understand that we don't want them to implement something simply because people might like it better
?? That's just wrong...
