At the moment I'm totally specialised for Amarr ships, having maxed out armor tank, pulse and beam spec. I want to start training to fly a Tengu, however, but I'm not sure about the skilling required to fly this well. Can anyone tell me what I should train up? I can of course look at fits and work it out from modle requirements...! I've got no clue about missiles or shield tanks. Never used 'em :p.

Shield Operation to 4/5
Shield Management to 4/5
Tactical Shield Manipulation to 4
Shield Compensation to 4
Shield Upgrades to 4/5

Missile support skills to 4/5
(NOTE: You dont need to bother with Guided Missile Precision if you are gonna use HAMs, although imo HM's are more effective)
Missile skills plus T2 variants

Ok thanks, but what's the difference between a HAM and a HM? Is the HAM just the T2 version?

HMs are long range, HAMs are short.

You want heavy missiles on the Tengu and you need the following skills for that:

Guided Missile Precision
Heavy Missile Specializaton
Heavy Missiles
Missile Bombardment
Missile Launcher Operation
Missile Projection
Rapid Launch
Target Navigation Prediction
Warhead Upgrades

I recommend all skills at level 5 if you are serious about the Tengu and mission running.
Also you want to train all subsystem skills to 5. It's even more important than the missile support skills.

Ohh yeah, HMs are heavy missiles, HAMs are heavy assault missiles. The latter is a short range unguided missile, you don't want this. The T2 version of the heavy missiles are Precision and Fury. The Precision has a lower damage but much better against small targets, the Fury has a higher damage than the normal. You want to use Furies for decent DPS.
