I wonder will there be random events programmed into it? Hey, there were in Shogun the TV-series!

"The Steam servers are currently to busy to handle any more pre-loads of Total War: Shogun 2."

I think there are some people who did buy it.
And maybe I should have thought of preloading it a bit earlier.

Real men buy from Gamersgate and get it for 29 quid with £10 worth of blue coins to spend on another game.

It's strange the preorders via Steam, Gamersgate, and D2D aren't considered Limited Edition. Only the boxed ones are.

3900~ of Uesugi Kenshin's forces, including the man Himself perished in the battle against Takeda Shingen's forces in the battle of Matsumoto in 1549.

He outnumbered me two to one. He lost everything, I lost ~10% Laughing

Woah nice! I've always been a fan of the original Shogun.
The ukiyo-e art form for the UI is very nice and immersive.

Bought two copies.

1 on steam

1 silly expensive edition with chess set etc.

Heard that the disc edition needed huge steam download, so figured why not just buy one on steam and keep my other edition as a display thing, and to keep my collection of TW boxes going of course.

I played the demo, and i was quiet unimpressed by it.
I played all the total war games, was hoping their next installment would be ROME or Alexander time. I just dont like the feel of the engine.

It's in the mail. Pre-ordered months ago.
Major fan of the original TW games up to and including MW:TW2.
The TW games after that were pretty terrible but I have hope for this one.

Kinda suspicious, because Total War series felt bit "unfinished"

never buyin another total war game after empire. it cost plenty of cash and was basically a beta which they made no serious effort to improve until they eventually finished game and released it as napoleon and flipped all their loyal fans. and wtf was all that special forces crap we sell you 60% of the game and the rest we sell you as dlc? or we just offer you basic game and finished game costs $20 more? hahaha. yeah ok.

no thank you.

chances are i am going to start to DL it tonight...

as for the guy who did not like Empire... Perhaps it was not that good when it first came out... but i bought empire and napoleon TW as a combo pack like two months ago and i have to say that even though the combat sim is better in Napoleon i far more enjoy playing Empire...

Personally i cant wait for empire TW II... but that will have to be a while i guess...

2011 shogun II
2012 rome II
2013 ME III
2014 Empire II
2015 Modern Total war?

Can someone make me a time machine so i can just start playing empire II now?

After the calamity that was called total war Empire , I am never going to rush out again and buy another total wargame , i rather will wait 12 months till they get their expansion out or even wait longer till the gold edition comes out for 1/4 of the price they will be asking now , and bug free

They sort of killed the game for me with that empire calamity, plus i have a feeling they seriously nerfed the AI in the lastgame, in some forums it is rumoured they did that to make the game more appealing for their american customers

Empire was a major disappointment, but so far I'm pretty amazed at how awesome this is.
Shogun always was the best of the series, and they stuck with the winning formula and only added the fun stuff from empire like naval battles and more buildings.
After one evening playing I'm very pleased so far ugh
