ArrowThis thread has moved to the new forums!

About Us

The primary purpose of the "Concord LP" Channel is to provide a centralized place of business for buyers and sellers of Concord LP to meet and facilitate dealings.

The secondary purpose of the "Concord LP" Channel is to help ensure a fair value is being placed on the sale of Concord LP, and keep it stabilized.

Rules

The main rule for being a part of the channel is that we buy and sell at or near the fair, going rate (currently determined through non-scientific analysis). Advertising other transactions is frowned upon. >:(

While sellers and buyers are strongly encouraged to sell at this rate, they under no obligation to do so (and it would be impossible to police, anyway). However, it is in the best interest of everyone if the market value stabilizes and the time and efforts of the incursion runners is not devalued.

Scammers will be outed, and silly walks will be closely monitored.

Mailing List Rules

If you are looking to buy or sell Concord LP, please limit yourself to one post per day (one buying post and one selling post each).

Please check the MOTD in our channel ("Concord LP") for the rules of transaction, as they apply to posts made in the mailing list as well.

How to Sell Concord LP (or any other LP):
  1. Person X (the buyer) requests an item (for example, a particular 5-run BPC)

  2. Person Y (the seller) of the LP goes to the Concord LP store and purchases the item (with their own ISK and LP)

  3. Person Y then sets up a contract with Person X for the agreed-upon amount

  4. Person X accepts the contract and both parties are happy :)

So, the channel MOTD lists an approximate value of LP. What happens when Happy Citizen 1323135 comes to the channel and announces sales at 2000 per LP below that figure?

What happens? Well, if anyone is in the market for a purchase, then Happy Citizen 1323135 probably makes a sale.

As stated in the MOTD, the value is approximate and there are no enforced rules regarding selling at this rate, but rather a "strongly-encouraged" guideline. And though it is suggested that we attempt stabilization at the estimate, I must emphasize that the value recommended in the channel MOTD is by no means a hard number and will probably change many times before settling, likely within a month.

Listing the estimated value there is mostly to discourage "vicious" competition, and by extension the unnecessary devaluation of Concord LP. This can lead to cutthroat competition that hurts the sellers, just as "market ninjas" gradually lower the prices and profits available of items available on the market, and lead to slim profit margins.

But here's the deal: Enforceability of these things is impossible. Special deals can be worked out in private convo, or people can just go elsewhere if they don't agree with the general policy here. While I would like if everyone sold at the same price (regardless of market value), it's just not something that can be expected in a game with a more-or-less free market system. And more importantly, I'd like to make sure that the primary goal of the channel, which is to exist to help facilitate the finding of buyers and sellers, remains effective. If I try to force the uncontrollable, I'd end up hurting the primary goal of the channel, which makes everything else useless (since nobody will use it).

As for the price itself, hopefully we can settle on a fair value in the coming weeks that remains both profitable and acceptable to all parties.

I don't mean to be dismissive of your concern, but we must be realistic here. I encourage further discussion on this matter and hope we can get the sellers to agree on a value that doesn't turn out to devalue the time and effort they put into getting the LP.

Not quite. We do not require anyone to adhere to the price stabilization that is being proposed, however we would like the greater public to know that the time and effort of the incursion runners is worth more than the scraps that are being proposed as fair values (in future projections).

HOWEVER: Again and again, I must explain that this is a secondary goal of the channel, the point of which is mostly to encourage the sellers to not sell at insane low rates and cause massive undercutting to happen and crash the market. The primary goal of the channel is ultimately to facilitate the buying and selling of Concord LP, for all of Eve. I will never change the primary goal. This is for the convenience of all, ultimately, just like any of the other trade channels.

With 10-15 sellers online at any one time, you're certain to find as much Concord LP as you'd like, and at a good price. We encourage everyone to spread the word about the "Concord LP" channel!

Edit: Had this window open for a while, didn't see your post:
