er. . . I was saying he had changed the conversation. And I was one of those people pointing out how nonsensical his business proposition was. Several times. Including the post you just quoted.

Edit to add: agree with the above poster - this seems almost just too crazy to actually be a scam. Which isn't a recommendation that it isn't - I don't know what to make of this. Trolling? Mental breakdown? Worst scam in Eve history? Though I have no doubt whether this gets repaid or not, Block is going to be telling us how he totally planned this from the start.

Totally off topic but I love you for mentioning this Block. British Summer Time (where I live) doesnt start until the 31st, but my kids live in New York, and I get to talk them on webcam every Sunday night at 7.30pm.

If it wasnt for your random post I'd have totally missed it tonight and not gotten to see them till next Sunday.

So on a personal level, thanks very much and for that reason I will invest in this bond!

edit - not that I ever thought it was a scam, I just didnt really understand the investment.

edit 2 - 2.5B sent to my BSAC account, will buy the shares when my account is credited.

Yes, to purchase anything on the BSAC Exchange you so need to be registered on it. See the BSAC Exchange Opening an Account page. I would recommend reading the other Information Desk pages too. You might like to address any further general BSAC operation questions to this thread.

Please note that registration consists of nothing more than sending 1,000,000 ISK to the character; BSAC MMM . There is no convoluted scheme, API detail requests or declaration of alts. You can also request the withdrawal of the ISK as your first action when the account is set up, if you so wish! Confused I would also empasise; the character registering an account is also the only one who will be able to interact with BSAC for that account (ie, send to, receive from, query, etc.), please bear this in mind if you biomass or trade characters.

If you are planning on just investing at the last minute please bear in mind that accounts are not created overnight, but about once a week. It is important to wait until you have an active account before sending any more money. Sent money should appear in your account within 24-72 hours (the site information could be erring on the side of caution on this, I believe the BSAC API is being checked now - found it, January 28). Share purchases/sales happen immediately on the Exchange but both depend on an equal number of sellers/buyers and at a price you are willing to trade at.

Hope that helps.

tl;dr - Yes Very Happy

LE has it partly right.

On the math, not so much. It's not linear.

But ya, if I offered a 5b bond paying 5.01b 2 minutes later it would have a very high theoretical monthly % but what's that got to do with the price of tea in China? People aren't avoiding this offering because the interest rate is too low, they're avoiding it because block is a loose cannon and has lost trusted status among most (almost all?) MD regulars.

lol, i believe someone say before even if block say "Give me 10b" he will still get it so no suprise it almost finish i dare say when it at april it will be finish selling, MD is not = most investor.

I was thinking about investing but then I realized that even if I invested 1 Billion ISK or 1000 Bonds, I'd only receive 30 Million back as profit.

I mean I can invest my own 1 billion and make a profit of about 50-100 Mil in a few hours.... I am not sure how this is a Good Investment seeing as I have to wait a month to get 30 Mil back, My own clients get almost double that in 1 week for a 200 Mil investment. (Then again I'm a Guru at market manipulation...)

Just trying to understand how this is worth investing in....

Because Block's imaginary 176 trillion percent interest easily surpasses your imaginary 50% interest.

I can see you're a noob at running ponzis Rolling Eyes

Edit: @AF - yeah, I realised it wasn't linear but I couldn't be bothered to work it out Wink

He might need the ISK because hes hands on, In other words if he doesn't have the physical assets to stare at he can literally not do the calculations necessary.... Maybe.

I mean I am a bit like that. It's much easier for me to do ISK or even RL Money Calcs when I have the account book with transactions in front of me, Rather then imaginary numbers which... May not all add up like the eve wallet does...

Just an Idea.

From what I understand you are actually paying 3% interest. What you seem to be advertising is a 30 day effective rate with compounding. As far as I can recall, you are the only person on MD advertising a higher rate than he actually pays. Most people say: I want a loan for n days and will pay x% at the end of the loan.

Yes, interest is fixed at 3%, and maturity is also fixed; April 9. However, the interest rate is variable.

R30 refers to the 30Day effective interest rate, given by effective rate (R30) = 3% * 30 / (number of days to maturity). This assumes you are buying at the discounted price. R30 is useful for comparing different investment instruments.

I am advertising the effective interest rate R30.

Actually, i find block's R30 data quite useful; not necessarily for comparison purposes (although 30 days is close enough to monthly interest, which is what other bonds generally advertise interest as).

For what its worth, I convert everything into a similar measure before I invest.

I just had to explain to a guy why offering 18% interest (total) for 4 months wasn't a hot idea.
