tl;dr You cannot get ahead in the long run by buying SP.

Okay im gonna blaze thru this cause twice now I've ****ed up and lost my whole post >.>

So, ya, you can buy "SP" with ISK

Rules:
-only one skill
-instantly to one level

Drawbacks:
-Have to wait the time it would have taken, the only implants that are taken into consideration are on the ones plugged in at the time of purchase
-Locked in; cannot change your mind (IE, insta-train cruiser 5 but can't switch to industry 2 days later, you must wait the 30 days or w/e)
-Skill queue is locked up for the duration, it would be expected that with 24h of the end you can queue in something for normal training.

Why ISK?
cause that way the badasses with lots of ISK but very little RL money can get in on this, anyone else just buys PLEX

What im suggesting here is a reversal to the way that normal skill training works (at a cost). Get the benefits of the skill now but you have to wait for the same time it would have taken. This way no one can pull out ahead of anyone else, and could allow for potential tactical skill decisions. Just got war deced? train cruiser 5 now and hop into that HAC...

This might also increase play subscriptions as many player hate having to wait for their first month to get into a decent ship. They can now insta-train something like frigate lvl 3 right off the bat so they can get into that shiny new Punisher the career agent just gave them. The player has to still wait but they get more the instant gratification that most ppl want now a days.

So now then, I know there are probably like 500 flaws in this plan that I missed so.....*hides in a tank of water with scuba gear :3*

For a cheap cheap cheap cost of a titan you too can have every skill in eve maxed out.

So essentially, pay isk to receive a skill at the start of the queue time rather than at the end. Drawback is that isk is 'sunk' and skill queue is locked for the duration. If applied only to one skill at a time or to a 24hr queue then it isn't game breaking as far as I can tell. Sounds like enough people will go for this for it to be a win/win for players and for CCP. CCP wants isk sinks. Community doesn't want people getting ahead by buying skills.

Costs no isk to carry on as normal. I'd say a v good idea.

Edited for clarity.

It won't be ISK when it happens, it would be PLEX.

Gotta make the money.

or for no ISK at all, they still take the same amount of time, you may only buy one level of one skill at a time

Stop whining and buy a character from the Character Bazaar-forums ffs.

So saying a skill that would take 20 days to train could be made available immediately and then it locks your training queue for 20 days before you can buy or purchase a new skill. That would help OCD people like me who get to 10 and then think of what they could do with a tech 2 armor repair and constantly change their queue. lol.

I donít see an issue with thisÖ. That said, I didnít know it was an issue needing to be addressed over others. Probably wonít get much community support for this idea.

This isn't a whine, in fact I'd probably never use this. But it dawned on me that this might be an acceptable compromise between those that want SP for money and does that don't (me included)

If eve was F2P then 2x training time for a subscription would be a good idea.

Did you know that you are already able to buy SP with ISK???

YES YOU CAN!

IT IS CALLED THE CHARACTER BAZAAR, WHERE YOU CAN BUY CHARACTERS WITH AS MANY SP AS YOU CAN AFFORD.

Why do we have to reinvent the wheel, now go buy SP to your hearts content.

I present a better solution: we find the guys that want to buy skill points in game and beat the crap out of them until they quit.

1. Open browser
2. Go to www.eveonline.com
3. Go to character bazzar board
4. ???
5. Profit

If you really want it, it's already there with sanctioned character sales.

I am against that idea.
As it is now skill system remains magically "untouchable" - it is quite just - everyone trains stuff more or less at the same pace. It was always like - the more you play the more skills you have. If we will start modyfying it no matter how small would that change be - the magical barrier disappears and furhter modifications would follow.

For new players i can only say - i was there too, be patient and youll get the needed skills - and it will give you a lot more satisfaction than taking a shortcut.

Good idea the people with a problem with it are prolly sitting on 70m+SP, I don't know whats funnier the fact I could prolly learn to fly a jet irl faster then I could learn to fly a titan. If this was regulated without real money why the hell not?

But I character farm with plex, and I sell those characters for far more ISK than they cost me to farm, if your system is implemented, my infinity ISK cash cow is destroyed utterly. I would have to quit eve and pretend it was for an idealogical reason.

Upside: Solution doesn't break anything

Downside: Solution lacks a corresponding problem
