I have a feeling I'm opening the door to get flamed, made fun of, kicked and spat on. This isn't a trol...just a couriosity
So, I'm not 'suggesting' CCP does this...rather I'm "Wondering" what everyone thinks about this idea.

Here it goes:

Have the option to make a $130 payment to CCP, and in return you will receive 8760 hours (365 *24 ) of skill points you can distribute how ever you see fit.

any thoughts?

Sorry, but that is a civilian-grade Heat Dissipation Field. And I am using Aurora Ominae. So you got Charboiled anyway.

I think it is a W-A-S-T-E of Cash

Well I'll say yes, but only if you are then banned from playing on that account for the following 360 days. Very Happy

Edit: Just to point out we actually pay for 360 days with CCP, not a full year.

Hi NinjaSpud,

You are in luck.

CCP has already implemented this feature into the game.

Step One.

Take your $130 dollars, and visit any website that sells GTC. Shattered Crystal is a good one. Google is your friend.

Step Two.

Buy as much GTC as you can afford, and then convert those GTC in game into PLEX.

Step Three.

Sell the PLEX on the market or in contracts to other players to convert them into ISK.

Step Four.

Take your now very full wallet and visit this forum.

Step Five.

Browse the selection, and purchase what you feel is a good value for your isk.

Step Six.

???

Step Seven.

you gave me a great idea :)

how about you can pay for months at a time worth of skill points, but your account will be inactive for the amount of time purchased

this will allow people who do not have access to internet or whatever a chance to continue gaining skill points without having to log in to set a skill

the trade off to logging in after a few months and having several million skill points to distribute would be that your account is not active, so you cannot log in even if you want to

YES!

ccp should never open the door to pay for skill point increase. Part of the fascination with the game is that in order to train every skill all the way up to max in the game would take around 21 years. This requires you to think ahead and plan.. it also require some dedication. You can become a good pvp pilot in around 3 to 5 months.. during which you have boosted skill learning rates. and there are some who claim 2003 kills at 1 and 2 months.

You can buy a character from someone else though as stated above. I see no reason to let loads of people start flying a titan on day three because they have a lot of money. Buy a pilot that someone put in time on or crack the books.

What if the amount of time you'd be able to purchase was credited based on age? So say you have a 2003 character that never trained because he was an alt.. Suddenly you want to play him a lot.. What if then you could buy and apply point up to the max a 2003 character might conceivably have?

This would serve to balance some inequity but I dare say it would be tougher for newer players to find a 2003 player they could kill.. right now there are plenty ..if they can find them. Not every old character has a ton of trained skills.

or for cheaper chars, join a 0.0 alliance. Guy gets bored with a char, needs money for his sc, other reasons....sells off unwanted chars. Usually at reduced price with an alliance member discount. Saw some nice deals in the places I ahve been with the combat char. didn't even have stupid names to boot and were generally very focused trains, not a lot sp's spent in diversions to get the most sp for your gtc isk sales..

I am ashamed Embarassed

Maybe I should have posted this in the general chat...cause after thinking about it, I'm more or less couriouse what everyones view point is then actually intent on suggesting a feature change.

Everyone ready for my newb moment? I just learned what Charachter Bazaar is (thanks Magnus Orin)...I've never really thought about buying or selling my toons so I never really looked into it....again with the Embarassed

Short and serious answer: Devaluating the gametime of your loyal playerbase is a bad idea, since loyal older players is what keeps your game together and going.
Suddenly you wasted a lot of time. Great game, huh? How seriously is that player going to take the game henceforth?
People are not likely to 100% commit their free time to something that isn't worth much, or something that is prone to being devalued.

You can already observe it. The alliances' names are getting less serious or thought-out. Most players are going for instant fun, for the cheap thrill, or 'secure' 0.0, since buildung your own thing and losing it in a matter of hours or days isn't much fun.
The only ones keeping the serious business going are the ones interested in getting rich on all those grunts.

The more meaning your game's content has, the more likely people are to commit themselves. Committed players are loyal players. Loyal players are good for business, since they tend to stay longer and cause less trouble.

Ah well. Now that wasn't as short as intended, but anyways, that's my point of view.

People proposed this in various forms before as well. Personally I'm agaist SP for PLEX but pro faster training for SP. Moreover, this faster training in punitive, namely for 1 plex per month you only get 0.5 of your usual SP per month. Your version calls for instant titan pilots, mine just allows to getskills a bit faster.
