I just updated to the newest version of EVEMon a few days ago and since then, my accounts have not been able to update due to a failure to connect to EVE. It states that there is no account associated with my characters and when I try and plug in my API key (by either trying to create a new account or updating the old one) to try and reconnect, it says that the user ID or the key are incorrect and that EVE sent it back as a "Trustfailure." I even created a new full API key see if that was an issue and the same problem persisted.

I didn't see anyone else having these issues so I figured I'd post to troubleshoot how I would be able to solve the issue with the program. Thank you in advance.

The basic problem is that EVEMon has switched to using the secure HTTPS method to connect to the API and your computer is refusing the certificate that CCP supplies. This typically happens because the Certificate Authority that issued the certificate isn't in your trusted list.

tl;dr

You need to run Windows Update and accept the root certificate updates

Thanks, I normally stay up to date with Windows Updates but I guess that slipped through.

This problem discussed here: EVEMon - The Open Source Character Planner (v1.3.4) and there: EVEMon 1.3.4 - Bug Reports
