This application provides an offline map for Eve Online. Have you ever been roaming in systems you did not know? Are you thinking the offline maps available on the web are not what you need? Do you want something more interactive like the ingame map? Then this application is for you!

This application uses DirectX 9.0 to render the flatened universe map geographically correct. There is no tight rendering loop, which would use up all your resources you need for Eve. Instead rendering is only done when needed.

Check out the project website for more details:

It is all open source. You can compile it yourself if you feel safer, or integrate it into your own projects.

For a reason I'm not familiar with (doesn't DirectX 9 include it?) my PC didn't had the required d3dx9_43.dll file, in order for your app to run.

Although it wasn't hard to find it on the web, I thought to share this, in case someone else has the same issue.

Maybe it would be wise to add a check function or include that file in your installation process.

My OS is Win7 x64

Indeed Windows 7 does include DirectX 11 but is lacking the DirectX 9 files.

If you check the requirements section on the project website, you will find links to the microsoft website to download everything needed.

I already thought about integrating the required software into the setup. But this would mean i have to include the DirectX 9 installer, the Microsoft .Net 4 installer and the Visual Studio 2010 runtime. The setup would then be ten times the size as without.

I thought about making a DirectX version of this with C# a couple years ago. I made a GDI version many years ago (I think 5 or 6), but I haven't opened that project in years.

I have a Google maps version: Galactic Map

It has SQL type-ahead searching for systems.

I'll give this version a try, soon. I want to make a nicer Android version for my phone sometime, but my current web page app works on my phone. :)

Yeah, I started my project as a GDI version, but it was by far too slow. Therefore I implemented the DirectX renderer which runs very smoothly. The goal was to create something to help FCing. Some FCs are already using it and are providing input. An Android version would be nice, but I doubt any FC would use his Android during fight to plan his movements. But I could be wrong, I don't have an Android. Very Happy
