So I recently picked up a 120gb OCZ Vertex2 SSD for my MBP, and I'm trying to reduce down the install footprint of my files.

I'm left with 2 big "outliers"

1 is my current photo folders, which is expected, and these are going to be backed up/deleted before I switch completely.
The other is EvE. The current EvE package is 8gb in the applications window, and I don't even know how much on the rest of the HDD.

I'm wondering if there is something I can do to reduce the size of EvE and the amount of my HDD it's eating. I mean it's telling when Adobe CS3 takes up less of your HDD then EvE.

Any suggetions, guides, etc that can help me trim EvE so I can enjoy the speed of SSD?

Ok, SSDs are for just OS and critical applications or thoes that benefit from drive speed. So create a new my documents folder on a standard disk and then change the map from your C: drive to the new folder on the mechanical disk.

Make sure you copy all your pictures, videos, ****, music, and school work to this new folder, then clean it off your SSD.

120GB should be more than enough seeing as eve is around 8gb and windows 7 is also around 15gb. ATM I have about 96GB on my RAID 0 300GB Raptor setup and thats mostly because of my music.

Sorry, MacBook Pro, so only room inside for 1 hard drive. Guess I wasn't clear.

You can get a caddy that replaces the optical drive with another HDD slot. It does appear to be what most people putting SSD's in their MBP's do.

or you can ask ccp why eve grows so fast, it's still empty space :D

remember, Eve App took 1.67GB the 10th november 2008
