That would definately be a con, but I would gladly risk that.
I just think you should be able to program them to fire on reds and react to attack by neuts. I would think you roamers would appreciate the fact that this would give you more difficult challenge and maybe even force people to fight off the gate so your prey can't just simply wait for aggro and then jump through escaping you. It could work both ways.
I mean thinking about it realistically(yes I am aware that this is game is fictional trolls), if your organization can afford to build a freaking space station, how hard would it be to put some turrents outside of it. SOV holders pay for the gate, why would they not defend it with turrents, even nerfed ones compared to empire?
Possibly make ships to fullfill this purpose. Sentry Ships with a Skill Book to train. Even anti-defense Ships designed to knock out turrents faster but smaller and more agile compared to a Dread. That might satisfy your need for a KM or even a POD kill if it is a sentry ship.
Just ideas. :P
