Step 0) Set Wine to disable GLSL
Step 1) Disable Depth Effects
Step 2) Set all game textures to low and Character Creation textures to Medium or High
Step 3) Enjoy the Character Creator.

Can someone else try this and let me know if this helped?

I came to similar settings independently, and can confirm I can see the entire char (not just the teeth and/or tongue). I had everything in the right column set to low, and confirmed both medium and high worked for the texture setting in the middle column.

Here's my Software\Wine\Direct3D settings:

Running 5870 eye6, wine 1.3.11, linux 2.6.35.

I don't consider myself unlucky to have an ATI card.

for me any setting did not work when disabling GLSL. only thing visible on char creator was gums 'n' teeth then Laughing

with my usual registry settings posted on this forum before it kinda worked, after few remodelling actions the mouse pointer would loose focus tho and l could not shape the model any more.

it was necessary to enable Translucency for the Composite extension in Mandriva XFdrake. shader high, texture medium and LOD high was the most my HD4670 could handle on one client then. settings for char creator itself at texture medium as well, low quality not checked, physically simulated cloth and hair not checked as well. the latter brought the gfx to its limits and the effect was not impressive at all on this card.

all working ok then, only thing l realized was l had to recheck outer clothes (jackets and the like) and shoes to eventually remove and add them again directly. this was cause they would not always be displayed properly. sometimes it would still loose focus, especially in snapshot mode. switching between the two modes would fix that as well. changing gfx settings in creator mode could crash the client in some setups.

will switch Translucency off when through with the recustomizations, cause it affects performance heavily on this card from 2008.

tested this on both fglrx 10.11 and 11.1. wine 1.1.37, wine 1.3.7, wine 1.3.10.

no id why, maybe this has got something to do with alpha channel? and if so, could it have something in common with the loss of control over scanner probes in some setups? and the mouse pointer square on ATI in some older versions of wine?
