I think borg-like implants are just a bit too crude. In an universe with widespread use of nanotech I they are able to build implants that do no look like the result of a mad mechanic puzzling together the victims of a car accidents with the remains of their vehicles.  |

From what I remember of the second EVE novel, there is a subculture of people with all kinds of crazy modifications similar to people who do that kind of thing now, except far more advanced. Just look up "extreme body mods" if you want to see the kind of bizarre stuff some people do today.
I think most people will want to look human. Most implants will fit with the human look. Cosmetic modifications probably won't be uncommon, though. |
