tbh I like the new creator for what it is and allows you to do. But the lack of customisability at present annoyed me I have set up 2 toons (both Caldari 1 male 1 female) and for Caldari the options work realy nicly and I am happy with the outcome. I see caldari as straight laced smart "business" types when I think about them so the options work well. This toon however is my main that I have had for 5 yrs in april (iskies for birthday presents welcome btw )I just cant get anything im happy with at all. Having read the blog posted erlier in the thread this eases my mind that they are looking to add tats etc (the tat on my old pic was my defining feature in my mind and i realy liked it.) It would be nice if CCP allowed the grace perod to go through a couple itirations while they beef up the options to allow us who are particular with our facial deformities the change to embrace them from the get go without doing multiple redo's. Obviously this is dependant on how long between each itiration heh. the cloths shoes etc im not realy bothered about at all presently as we aint going to get to see them for god knows how long anyway. The only other thing that realy anoyes me is i have seen some realy nice and funny avatars created but when you look at them in game under a chat window due to the size of the tile they realy suck :( |

speaking of jumpsuits if you monitor Patrick Stewart as he sits down to captains chair in start trek you see him adjusting his suit every single time. This isn't because of 'being in character' it's because the suit was so uncomfortably tight from certain parts of the male anatomy when sitting/sinking down on a recliner like chair. |

When Incarna drops and we're able to change our clothing and 'deck our Avatars out' so to speak, you and I both know that CCP will add a lot more to our choices. Furthermore, I suspect with every expansion that the list of clothing possibilities and accessory possibilities will grow. Be patient.

Who knows what CCP hasn't planned? Why do they always put things on the test server, don't read any feedback, release half done stuff anyway and (sometimes) fix things on the way instead of releasing a full, whole product? Yes we know we will get more clothes, but it's the only thing that has been confirmed. But that's not really what this is about. It's about options, hairstyles, hair colours, skin adjustments. I haven't read a single word about that yet so what those things are concerned the picture's pretty bleak. |

We are still looking at these faces. Faces which we aren't all too happy having. More choices should have been added, but you're right - we'll probably get more choices in due time. |

lol FIREFLY had simply no money for a good looking scenario. thats why they almost always landed in some redneck area, with cows and bull****.and nearly every world looked like wild west INCLUDING THE CLOTHING. outer ring my ass. why should they wear 19th century clothing there? i think thats one of the reasons firefly actually got cancelled. youre just an ignorant forcing your limited scifi views upon the eve universe. stop it. theres nothing wrong with scifi items, hairstyles and clothing. think about movies like 5th element and back to the future 2. its the little scifi details that make a good scifi movie to some degree. even if they look foolish some years after. it gets really amazing if something actually comes true some decades later. also a core aspect of scifi. its not just about space ships, its about inventions we dont have yet. and yeah.. there are not enough items, (i miss my headset with display i had before). the only non clothings are glasses, which ALL look like theyre from a gay motorcycle cop from the 80s. some more diversity would certainly not hurt. |

I would like an example to back this statement please. I don’t play other MMO’s, so what else is there that offers such high quality and realistic looking avatars on the market? Yes they are a little too generic, and for the life of me can’t understand why tattoos and scars are missing over silly glasses, but some of the end results people are producing are quite brilliant and unique And the comment about these offerings being just OK from a modelling world perspective is not very good. This is not a high end modelling package that takes weeks or months to become proficient at. Give this to a 5 year old and they could easily produce good results. Not being able to take the view of the layman on what is being offered and what can be achieved very easily is another example of the short sighted and generic twaddle that litters these forums |

I think the glasses are the best example of a "showcase" technology that doesn't fit into CCP's own world. CCP said "hey, let's get carbon out", but they took the shortcut and just released what amounts to as a "human creator", not an EVE human creator.
If this was a technology preview standalone it would be awesome. But when they're forcing us to use it to integrate our character into the EVE universe, it sucks.
CCP THINK TRANSHUMAN. We're in a universe twenty thousand years into the future with near-immortal technology-infused clones who don't even so much as blink when we warp 0m on the local system's sun.... wtf are they wearing aviators? That's just silly.
They need to rethink the entire style of the assets so that a great piece of CCP technology is actually INTEGRATED into CCP's game. |

Cowboys..uff...not sci-fi like that to me...that's for sure. I prefer spaceships that look futuristic and clothes that have at least something futuristic about them. Not ships that just look funny or aliens that look like they escaped from sesame street (farscape). When it comes to scifi style I prefer something like: Aliens, Mass effect, starshiptroopers (sucks) and stuff where it IS a future. I do admit that it starts looking too odd when they go too far with it, but adding space and cowboys is just ******ed. |

lol sesam street the editor itself looks state of the art to me. its awesome. way better detailed than any other game with editor (and possibly avatars) i played so far. i think ccp just made a little mistake by not adding some infos and a "ARE YOU SURE" box at the end. well theyre paying for it with 500% more petitions. really not a big deal. just some publishing issues. |

Most MMORPGs have horrible looking characters with hardly any customization options. On the other hand, we only have portraits, I'll only be impressed if we can indeed walk in stations, have gestures and expressions in stations with dozens of us at a time. Until then, it's just an advanced picture renderer. |

I want flannel shirts and golf pants! Not really, but reading a lot of the whines on here is painful. This is just the start, and add-ons will be coming. Sure, chances are that we will have to pay for them, but isn't that kind of what we asked for? Micro-transactions are ok if they DO NOT affect the game play. Well, avatars and portraits have absolutely nothing to do with game play, but are something most players really care about.
I am fairly happy with my new toon. He looks like a slightly older version of my old one. Once eye-patches and tattoos make an appearance those will be added and he is done. And as far as the individuality of the toons, I have seen very few that look alike. Some that are similar yes, but nothing like the similarities in toons from the old creator. There were times that I confused my own toon with someone else's. I don't think that will happen now. Everyone just needs to be patient and give this new CC time. |

It's not just lack of clothing options, it how homogenized everything is. With the old avatars you could instantly tell which race someone was, you can't anymore except with a few bloodlines like Brutor. |

I love how the people who admit that yes, it is blander and, yes, we have less than we did, have this willingness to believe in CCP recreating what we had.
What we had - the options of how to look which a lot of us derived, at least in part, our in-game personalities from - were there from damn near the start of the game (save for the blood-lines that did not yet exist (of which I am one of the many when this race had the best beginning skillset for new character creation back when CCP basically forced us to have more Asian faces in the game by making their primary attributes better than the rest ... which is why I resemble that which I have no reason to be)).
Now, here after maybe over a year's worth of advertising and hoopla, we have been given... avatars with a LOT less in them, except for the plastic-y looking faces a few of you are enamored with. The game began in 2003, and here in 2011 CCP debuts ... nothing?
Sure I bet some of you spent the extra time on your torso and legs, and more than that have spent too much time for what you've got in your close-up avatar.
CCP, for whatever reason, decided to take things away from us. I, and I see many others, did not gain anything interesting in the process.
Maybe it's all a ploy to automatically include more fanfest members as being dressed up like characters in the game when they walk in off of the street (all it takes is firemen boots or gay guys' shoes)? Not that much of it would matter because we created and chose options which we cannot see. |

Why are sunglasses the one "accessory" that made it in? Because alot of people over on test made a point of asking for them. Enough to make the difference to CCP. Just think about that for a few seconds. Strangely, those people who actually spent the time and effort to get on Sisi, and actually TEST the CC in its various stages, gave feedback. And amazingly enough, CCP made time to act on some of those suggestions.
Another good example was the actual menu interface, a series of 'wheels of fortune" which were extremely counterintuitive until you got the hang of it.....and even then........ . You had only 1 snapshot (vice 4), making comparing poses and lighting a nightmare. Again, kudos to both CCP and those on test who took the time to actually be a PART of this expansion, instead of lazily sitting back waiting for the pizza to arrive, and then complaining the soft drink isn't cold enough.
99% of the complaints I've read regarding this one facet (CC) of this expansion, are from people who, it seems, couldn't be bothered to keep their expectations at a realistic level, because they couldn't be bothered to find out what the reality looked like on Singularity. Even worse, these same people couldn't be bothered to make even LESS of an effort by reading what the testers were posting in the Test threads. But here you all are, carrying on like it's the END OF THE WORLD, when in fact, it's a new beginning, and like all new beginnings, its small, a bit different from what you're used to, and doesn't have enough bells and whistles yet to impress you.
"I don't like this" ; "I can't stand that" ; "Why can't I go back to my comfort zone?" do NOT qualify as constructive feedback. This thing is still a baby. It desn't walk or talk, go to school or work, pay taxes, or any of that other crap in its future. It just IS (new content to enjoy). Give it some time and patience, and become involved in its development (and the game as a whole), and you might find yourself happily surprised and excited about its next stage of development, instead of being dissapointed all the time.
Good luck.

If the fashion served some purpose like protecting you from +1 pew, pew, or +5 fart, fart, I could see your point, but currently its only purpose is to hide your avatars embarrassment from the rest of the eve universe. Get over it already, you would be better off asking for some customisability of player ships, to give much needed individuality to ship skins and appearance.

Actually i'm not disappointed from what i've seen. The character creator is great... what i dislike is that more or less all the dress/suits are the same. There only four of five types of them with some little variations on the colours used.
What astonished me is that i've not seen any skirts :| how come? they don't dress skirts anymore in the future? |
