I like the way my character turned out, but just like the old system the portrait that gets created never looks quite how it aught to, and you really need to check it out in game before you can judge it. The ability to change the portrait stage of character creation whenever you want to, and sure i supposed clothing and makeup too, would be welcome. I think it should just be added as part of the game.

Not that I don't love my face, but this really needs to happen. The difference between what a character looks like before and after clicking that button is crazy.

Agreed. The portrait that I see in game looks nothing like the ones in the creator (or at least, that I remember).

Support this as well.

At the very least having four portrait captures made me believe I would have the choice of swapping between the four at any time in game. I perhaps selected the wrong one in this regard.

As happy as I am with my char, it always inevitable that mistakes get made and minds change over time.

Poasting in a monster mash thread !!!+111!

Next time, log into SISI and practice on any new stuffs.

That or just wait until the next update where CCP said we can update our Avatars.

Delicious though they are, there are too many tears threads atm.

I can't say editor in general is a fail, but holy cow - chars randomly blinks and it's next to impossible to notice that crap in snapshot. I'm a photographer in real life, but for the sake, it's game!

I asked about this and a dev confirmed we'd get a grace period where we could remake over and over, yet this doesn't seem to be the case...

After looking at the Male Minmatar settings, I am VERY disappointed - the settings on Sisi for lighting alone were 10x better, and the lips look like they have perma-red lipstick on (definitely not a look I want my avatar to have).

Not to mention that in-game the AA levels on the avatars is unacceptably low. My avatar's collar looks like a staircase!

Sad, sad, sad :(.

The in-game documentation and intuitiveness of the new character creation is so lacking that this is the least CCP could do.

Yeah, when I did my first char I totally missed the fact that I could drag bits of the face/body around, so I'm stuck with a totally random face for my first char. I don't really like the new look for the bloodline of the other one, but that's a more complicated problem Sad.

+1 The Portrait doesn't look at all like what I captured. Neutral It would be nice if we at least would be able to re-pose at will during the grace period because, quite frankly, between posing and your spaceship there is some black magic involved.

CCP, I love EVE. Brilliant game. The new character creation idea - marvelous!

Should have finished it BEFORE it was released, however. Confused

I agree with the op.

Actually I logged on today to change portrait. I made my modeling, went to the stage where you take pictures. I took a couple. And then pressed the button "save" thinking it will either 1. let me save all the pictures I just took becase that is what "save" means, or 2. Ask for confirmation (a pop up window with yes or no choices).

It did neither. Instead, it made the last scene of my char before I pressed "save" my portrait, without the option to change it. So my char is now with a less optimal portrait because CCP hasn't got their UI straight.

If the button says "save", it does not mean "make this pic portrait". Or else what is the point of having the option to take 4 portraits on that screen? I was lead into the impression that I can review all 4 at full size before choosing which one to be my portrait.

This is a UI blunder, and please amend it.

Pretty much. The save button should at the very least call up the preview image that was created and show it at full res so we can see what the results are and accept/reject them. The small preview windows micro-stamps on the side offer zero help in determining the final look of a picture.

In fact, thumbed.

You can do that? I've made one portrait. Every time I go back into that Character creation thing, I get the "Black Screen of Death". Eventually everything locks up, I swear at the computer, and I have to reboot.
