you can fix it by opening the task manager (cntl + alt + delete) but you have to do it every time.

Anyone hear of a permanent fix for this yet?

SECONDED. I couldn't care less about some ugly mugs most people seem to be complaining about at the moment compared to this. Extremely annoying.

The same here when i minimize the game, do you guys have any option how to resolve this problem.
For example if lets say i open a new window and i got prompted with a security question like do you allow this program to access the HDD i click yes and pufff the screen is back to normal again, but after i minimize the game then here it goes the dark screen, its very very annoying

Change your desktop theme to Windows 7 Basic if the driver update didn't work.

Try running eve with lower graphics settings, i got this when graphics settings were set high. Changed then to lower settings and it fixed it. This only happened on my laptop.

That only happens to me on my laptop (Inspiron 11Z - Win7 64 ultimate, 2gb ram, CPU:Intel SU4100 1,3 GHz 800MHz 2MB, VGA:INTEL Intel GS45 Express 4 series) - not always though. It stays pink even after i quit EVE - i have to change resolution to get the normal colors back.

Never happened on my desktop (Win7 64 Ultimate, 4gb ram, CPU:Itel Core 2 Quad 2,4GHZ, VGA: GeForce 8600 GTS)...

Perhaps only Intel graphic cards are affected by it?
Would be nice to get a fix for it (the need to change resolutions is quite uncomfortable) :)

Apparently there is a permanent pink screen fix for Vista and Win 7: run Eve in compatibility mode for Win XP. Not tested by me though cause I have XP.
I worked around the issue by not using fullscreen mode. Hint: Fixed window mode is technically windowed but looks just like fullscreen.

Yup, I run Eve on two computers. One has this issue, the other does not. Both are windows XP SP3. The one that has the issue has an Asus/ATI video card. THe one that does not have the issue is an nVidea card. All drivers are updated. Evil or Very Mad

EVE was changed with incursion to force the color mode to 32 with 8bit alpha which from experience was the issue when it happened with the older eve client and you could just change the setting to unfudge it.

There was an ATI driver update to fix the darkening of the screen potentially from the issue however it's not perfect, the other fix is to use a directx hack to tell EVE to shove the color mode up its arse.

This was happening to me (ATI vid card). I updated my videocard drivers (Omega drivers). Problem solved.
