When i tried to install the update, it told me my client was damaged, then it ran some repair tool, and lasted for about an hour, and at the end it automaticially cancelled itself, i tried opening the client it said it had been damaged and i needed to open the repair tool from the eve game directory, i did that and it cancels automaticially, so i uninstalled the client and now im downloading the 3.7 GB set up again to re in stall the GAME my training que is going to be idling while im at work because this damn update

For those who are having issues getting to access the character creator I suggest you try pressing ESC and wandering around the options menus. On Sisi this tended to nudge the creator to boot up. I understand this also works on Tranquility now although I am still patching so I can't confirm. Hope this helps avoid too many rage tears.

Did you not think to set a long skill training? That is a standard practice!

The client lags like hell when I'm about to re-create how my character looks, and I'm not sure I'll do my best creating the look I want. I need to know if this issue is resolvable, or if my computer is the problem. If anyone else could say they have the same problem, and that they know that it's not their computer, I'd be not just happy like a motherf-, but I'd also have an orgasm and turn totally gay looking at myself 25 hours a day.

Okay, I had tried out the new character creator on Sisi before launch, on this computer. It ran smoothly, the animation was fluid, and I had no trouble sculpting face/body (aside from any noticable artistic skills, that is).

Having downloaded Incursion 1.1.0, I'm getting 2 frames per second in the character creator, trying to sculpt anything is impossible as the results of click + drag on any part of body or face only animates 2-3 seconds later, making it difficult to even tell what mouse movement did what.

Logging into Eve itself, I find that the spaceship portion is as usual.

So, yeah, significant framerate drop in the character creator. Something screwy there, and I can't even imagine trying to walk in stations with a few DOZEN of these avatars.

Remaining a silhouette for now.

Fake edit: Oh, OS and hardware spec:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+
2 Gigs RAM
Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX

QFT. The character creator offers up terrible performance and makes the character creation process tedious at best and nearly unusable by reasonable standards.

What is the CCP recommended hardware specification to attain high quality performance w/in the character creation environment?

I strongly recommend that people wait to update their avatars until this code is optimized.

Well, I had finished my portrait and hit save... nothing happened, so I tinkered a bit more with the pose. About 20 seconds later I crashed to desktop, losing all of my work. Not fun.

Oh, and having the 'snap portrait' feature take pictures of the totally random blinking is pretty nonsensical.

A 7800 GTX is several generations old, I'm not surprised you're getting poor framerates in the character creator.

It's quite resource-intensive and it even caused my old GTS250 (basically a rebadged 9800GT) to breathe hard on SISI builds.

I haven't tried it with my week-old GTX460 yet.

Very disappointed that there are no long hair options for Gallente male except for dreds.

Clothing selection is way too limited.

I sure hope you're going to at least let us re-dress our toons and re-portrait them. I'm happy with the physical models I can make but very disappointed with everything else about the creator.

If you read some of the back story, you'll find that for the Amarr, looking older is obviously the "sexier" way to look (males thin out their hair etc to give the feel of age).

The older you look, the more wealth/status you have.
At least that's why I'm guessing they look old no matter how young you want to be.

Changing Skill Requirements without prior notice? Not cool.

Drone Link Augmentor's now require Combat Drone Operation III, whereas they used to require Scout Drone Operation IV.

Obviously, not a huge issue, but I did not realize this, took my alt out into the field, and blam, all of a sudden he's sitting there taking damage, and can't fire back, because he can't use these units. Now I have to wait 7 hours to train the skill before he can use them. He is a new alt, so doesn't have that skill yet, since he was using sentries.

Most folks wouldn't even notice the difference, but to change required skills without notice, and not in the patch. That's just dumb. Come on guys, you can do better.

Entire Character Creation System looks rushed and generally unpolished

Character Creation :

1. No Black Hair.

2. COLOSSAL lack of clothing. (Are we going to have to pay real money to look good? Nice little earner CCP.)
Do you want this shirt or.... this shirt?

3. Character Creator seems to be a body sculpting utility and little else. Alteration of all body parts is fluid and flawless. Only problem is we HAVE to dress them, thus we HAVE to look awful.

4. The guy I am trying to edit WILL NOT HOLD STILL.

Reccomended : DO NOT UPDATE YOUR CHARACTER - Wait until they fix it (Being released in another two years?)

CCP : Making ingame avatars more important in gameplay whilst also utterly limiting player choice in variation and style.

+1 this is just a shame... seriously 50k player/15 set of cloth, sometime i wonder where ccp live i'm sure they were pretty satisfy with this... ccp guy's, do the math this will be clone's war... stop implementing stuff like this.

I am having no problems running the creator. There is a slight delay between choosing an option (such as clothing, etc) but it is only very slight.

I have a Intel Core i5 and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670.

Almost the same spec's as above but 8800GTS graphics and it's not bad, bit slow but usable.

For others having problems have you tried playing with the character creator settings in the ESC menu?

Character sculting is really quite nice, takes a little getting used to be happy with what I can achieve. Shame there hair options a few and look fairly poor in general, also a shame that the clothing and accessories is so severely limited.

I look forward to see more content on this in future and hope we get the chance to customise our characters some more in light of obvious improvements to come.

I WANT MY OLD PORTRAIT BACK!!!

CCP should fire the butthead who created this fail character creator. so little options...sure the detail is high and the images look crisper but at least give us the option of recreating our old photos as closely as possible.

I would like to say I've encountered a bug, but felt fairly positive about the new creator.

The bug being that my hood, which was up, is now showing as "off" in-game. Why is this a bug? Because my hood is still covering my face at the login screen.
EDIT: It seems my hood does not show up on here either.

Also, you shouldn't have FOUR portrait save slots if you only get to keep ONE. That just seems stupid.

Those aside, and the frustration that followed, I was generally happy with it.
