For the past week I have been going back and forth with GM Cloudy on a major post 1.1.0 problem with my toon, Kirana.

My skill tree, and apparently the accompanying training logs, have been corrupted somehow. The primary example being that pre-1.1.0 I had used my Learning skill credit to train up Amarr carriers, support skills, and various other skills. Prior to that I was not a cap pilot.

Post-1.1.0 my Amarr carrier skills have been replaced with Caldari carrier and dread skills. But I have none of the supporting skills for the dread, have never owned a caldari dread or carrier, and the GM is telling me that according to training logs I trained them both at the beginning of 2010, a year ago!

I am not sure what of my other skills are affected. It looks like my skills are mostly intact but there are a few things trained to 5 that I know I didn't train to 5 and others at 1 and 2 that I know were higher. The Caldari cap skills I have are totally out of sync with the rest of the character, otherwise I might just drop the issue. But as it stands it will take me months to get back to a usable character in cap terms.

I have suggested to the GM that he look in old backups. The skill logs on the client side only go back to Dec 19th, which seems odd. And since all the Learning skill credit training I have was done on the 16th it's not even showing up in my logs.

If this can't be remedied then I really can't justify continuing to pay to play patch roulette with toons I have years and hundreds of dollars invested in. And the only thing more frightening than this happening is the thought that there are no other logs to look at besides live production logs. Being a server engineer by trade, I know logs can get corrupted or lost. So if there aren't pre-1.1.0 backups, then shame on you, CCP.

Please help restore my faith in Eve and help me fix my main.

Along with several other people, I am having issues with the fact that the character portrait I created (originally AND after the redo) both had NO hood when created, but when I log in my character profile information has me in a hood. I even took screen shots showing the toon without it at the character select screen and then consequently afterwards when I logged in. Minor issue, but I REALLY don't like the hood look!

Do you have any kills with the carrier ? maybe if you could find a kb with it on it you can prove you had the skills.

Makes me worried about me.....I've not checked all my toons well.

I"m almost to the point we need to do the first rollback since 2004.

One little change which annoyed me is that you can no longer reprocess unpackaged items: it gives a message saying it needs to be in a stack of one or more items.

Character creator-eh. If you look at the forums, you see a lot of lookalikes, and the ones that look good aren't looking good because of the character, but because they are effectively posed and lighted.

Dock button placement is annoying.

Other than that, there really isn't much positive about the update. You delayed most of the key features.

What worries me is that you seem to be in a direction where you are playing "catch-up" with player resource generation. A lot of these changes and features seem to be on the order of reducing output or forcing more ships to be destroyed. Reading about the Incursion level of difficulty seems to support this. It seems like you are afraid to tackle the root (botting and nullsecers being carebears through hi-sec production) and are just going to make the game more annoying.

Edit: and also, CC seems to be weird. I logged in to see my first try character picture: relogging fixed it. I notice on the forums too, and in this post my pre-CC picture is displayed.

Not sure what you mean "skills with the carrier". I have high drone and fighter skills because I was an Amarr carrier pilot, so yah I guess.

I am trying to concentrate first on getting someone to look at something other than live production logs and second on the fact that for the current skill set to be accurate it would mean that I trained caldari dreads a year ago but didn't bother to buy one or train up weapon skills to fit weapons on it and caldari carriers yet never bought a carrier.

I had just barely trained the Amarr carrier skills last month when we got the learning credit. At the same time I trained one alt into Amarr dreads and another alt into a Rorqual. They are both fine. But that did just give me an idea. Since I used skill credit to train the skills I am missing there should be some discrepancy in the logs if it wasn't used to train the new, incorrect, skills.

Was mostly just meaning the Amarr carrier skill, since the others like jump skills would be common between the two. I guess since you got it just recently though probably no kill records.

Might try escalating it.

Do you have Caldari Battleship Level 5 if its not 5 but Amarr is might use that in your argument.

Yah I am trying to get the GM to escalate it but I am not sure that he is taking me seriously.

As for skills, I am also a Nightmare pilot so I had both Caldari and Amarr BS skills. LOL

I was able to get the issue escalated and put together the closest things to proof I have available. It's not much but I have eve-mail from Dec 23rd where I ordered an Archon to be built for me, as well as the tail end of my using up the learning skill credits being applied on the 19th of Dec. But unfortunately I don't have skill history prior to Dec. 19th. Two more days of skill history would have shown the training of Amarr carriers. LOL

Just an observation: It seems nearly everyone who hates the character creator and their portrait outcome actually have some pretty badass portraits. I've only seen one or two that look like a trainwreck. Perhaps it's just something to get used to?

As far as a lack of variety... that's true, but I'm not sure it matters a whole lot considering you're only seeing at most a bust of your character, if not just the face, which is definitely way more customizable. It's not like WOW, or Conan, or LoTRO, or something like that where you are constantly looking at your toon. It's a small picture. Later, with Incarna, then variety will really start to matter....

I'd like to see more variety, but as a fairly new player to EVE (just a few weeks before the update) I think the new portraits look infinitely better. Cartoony portraits didn't fit the insanely in-depth feeling the game gave me. Just my $.02.

My only complaint about the CC is the thumbnails are a bit small. It's kind of hard to see in detail what your toon will look like. But every toon I have built through CC so far looks bad ass I think. :)

I think that complaining is part of Eve. lol

A bit of small feedback on the new window for extracting in PI.

The window is very pretty and very geeky in a way that is fitting for Eve. I feel like a very important space mining foreman when I mess with it. I think future expansions of PI could do well to be inspired by that window.

One little annoyance though. Setting the extraction head size (or in layman's terms the time of the extraction program) is rather inconvenient. It's hard to put the slider in an accurate position, and fine tuning with the arrow buttons takes a lot of time due to the delay when redrawing the graph.

Maybe it's possible to limit the amount of redrawing done when messing with that slider.

I did give it a try.... and admin rights does not helped...
More weird thing, that I usually run 2 chars, and the problem does affect only the 1st started account! To switch to the secondary running client, and do alt+tab out of the games does revert the darkness!
Not only alt+tab are affected, but when I do hit the windows key the darkness are there...

Duh, I feel like an idiot. I see that now. lol

No kills. I don't even own a carrier yet. I just trained Amarr carrier after the Learning Skill credit last month. Prior to that I had no cap skills at all. But that did lead me to something else... It's not much but I do still have sent mail of me ordering an Archon from a cap builder. Luckily I sent it from that account prior to patch 1.1.0.

We'll see what happens but I sincerely hope they find something so they can acknowledge the problem and maybe track down the cause. Otherwise it's likely to happen again. It has been escalated to a Sr. GM at this point. If they keep logs pre-build release, which they would be derp not to, then all they need to do is view pre-1.1.0 skill logs and they will see it.

I could see myself making a mistake like mixing up cap skills between toons in training but not training two wrong racial cap skills, that there would be no record of any of my toons ever possessing. Two frickin' days more in the skill logs on my side and it would show up there.

That pretty much sums it up. I look at it like this, if all we have to reaallly complain about is a CC for now, life's pretty good. It'll matter more with Incarna, depending on how big they make Incarna, but for now, POS' aren't going skynet, drakes didn't start spontaneously exploding, relatively few people are getting BSOD's.

Plus this particular thread is designated for complaining about the patch :) And so hopefully something good will come of the complaining and there will be less complaining in the future. At least CCP will know what is ****ing players off and will be able to fix it instead of just guessing.

And speaking of epic fail...PI is biggest fail change i think i have ever seen in a game this far. I was able to extract all mineral types available on a planet before without having to change my setup for weeks, now that is impossible without a complete reconfig at the end of cycles/programs. PI changes mean all planets will need to be rebuilt and, major changes will be required at regular (daily) intervals in order to gather multiple resource types on same planet. The only thumbs up is the upgrade option to main facility. The rest of the PI changes are hugely problematic and will continue to be on a daily basis. I honestly find it hard to believe these changes are made by people who actually use PI at all. Epic fail! epic fail, epic fail....can i say it enough...i dont think soEvil or Very MadEvil or Very MadEvil or Very MadEvil or Very Mad

I'd have to second this comment. I went from having the ability to extract all resource types from a planet (at a reduced yield) to only being able to extract 2-3 types due to the power requirements of the extractor control units and my existing factory structure. This is a pretty easy problem to fix - just reduce the control unit power cost and increase the head cost; you can either have a lot of something or a little of many things. The reduction in clickfest is nice, but my PI production chain is now crippled. I'll work it out with my corpies to share the production burden around if CCP doesn't address this problem, but I feel for the solo players out there; it's now extremely difficult for a solo player to realistically make PI-material goods (was pretty difficult before, but now it's nearly impossible).

I Second this second, pretty much everything I was unhappy about is contained within.

I like some of the changes bat as far forward as this expansion has gone it's taken as many steps back.

I don't have much to offer in the way of advice. You have my sympathies, though. And I'm going to keep a close eye on this case, as I realize all too well that this could happen to any of us. Losing SP, or getting your skill sheet messed up, is a major thing. And I must say I'm a little surprised (and more than a little worried) that CCP apparently has so litlle evidence archieved as to where one's skills are at a given point.

So, I hope you'll get it resolved soon; and I'll be rooting for ya. Please, do let us know how it ends.

From the patch notes-

Meta level sorting now counts no meta level as lower than 1. Also changed so that 0 meta level shows as empty.

Whats this all about?

I can't find any part of the UI where you can sort items by meta level, it's something that would be of great use to me.

Edit -

Found it, they must be talking about the compare tool, thats the only place I can see where this can be done

Yah my thoughts as well. If this slips through the cracks then yikes... I am hoping I just got a GM on a bad day or a "new guy". And I think they generally don't take people too seriously if it's an isolated event, which this seems to be. I don't know that I would have believed me either. In nearly 8 years this is the first major glitch I have had in Eve.

Will keep you posted.

Not a bad idea. Probably a better idea before they deployed 1.1.1 but I'll check none the less. It took the GM a couple days just to get back to me Initially and by that time 1.1.1 was out. Prior to that I wasn't concerned because I thought the problem would be obvious to them.

I'll check it all the same. Never know.

Hi CCP,

I know you want our money and all... but you cannot force me to see your ads in the pilot licence tab of the character sheet. I DON'T WANT INGAME REAL MONEY PURCHASE !!!
I pay for a service, not some badly hidden ads and links to give you more money. EVE is not a free-to-play MMO so remove it.

Furthemore, we already know where to buy plex.

Thx for listening.

CCP wants feedbacks on the latest patch? Here we go!

1. PI changes are good.
2. Sansha incursions aren't out yet but I think they will be interesting. I might even have a go at one.
3. Charactor creator is garbage from what I've read. I'd like to say I've tried it but it won't load no matter what I try (updating drivers, DirectX, graphics settings, esc menu, windows mode). A GM responded to my petition 2 days ago. I replied & have heard nothing since. The way I see it CCP don't know why it doesn't work for everyone, won't admit it & aren't really bothered when a fair few people cancel their subscritions in 2 to 3 weeks time bevause they can't play. Pity because I enjoy playing.
