Edited by: Sealiah on 13/01/2011 16:33:34 Hey!
So, I just bounced the second time into and avoided a funny way of griefing (not sure if it can even be called griefing).
Lets start from the beginning - there is this guy (whos name I will keep secret at least for the time being) who is in a noob corp but contacts me expressing his willingness to join my corp. Naturally, there is some exchange of eve mails, I ask him to turn off his silly 2.950 isk CSPA, but he says he doesn't know how...
A few mails later (and maybe I don't know, 40k isk in cspa, so still next to nothing) we are about to end the first step of getting him in and I click the envelope button to send it and the box pops up again. I nearly pressed it, but it looked very suspicious to me that it's a bit longer. I read it in case it's something else and to my great suprise it says 295.000.000 isk to pay for CSPA. Naturally I didn't reply, later I got another eve mail asking me why am I not replying, please respond fast, etc and blocked the guy.
So just be warned, it happened to me twice during a week, today the 2nd time so just passing the info further - don't get caught on this silly... I don't know what even, I can't call it a scam. This strange way of draining other peoples wallet.
Cheers! |

Never happened to me that someone would try to trick me into paying more after a conversation :P I guess it happened that I'm more into the better part of the eve community. |

I do this for the income and to avoid the unwanted messages. Wish it worked this way IRL too. Imagine the lack of spam with a 0.25$ charge per message to your inbox... |

Heh, this is best done for those love/hate mailers when I grief... I respond, get them all Emo Raged. After about 6 - 10 exchanges of mail, I tell them to check their wallet. They then see that they've spent a mil (unfortunately the max charge), per mail they've sent to me. It's good for a laugh. Some are still stupid and don't understand the charge and keep mailing the hate, while others then try a convo or local chat to which I just ignore. Ah, simple fun for others Emo tears. |

CSPA or w/e it is called does not give you any income. To all those idiots who make your CSPA charge like 1mil or something you are doing it wrong. |

LOL, what a coincidence Diesel, you were one of the guys that fell for it. Remember when you thought I somehow ejected a Harpy out of my Battle badger and kicked your a$$. Man you were ****ed and kept mailing me. Oh btw, check your wallet.
First: Who cares? + It seems like you added me to your address book so I didn't pay a cent. |

Actually, you did, cause it was only later that I added you because you became a War Target and I proceeded to thrash your corp. But ya, who cares right? No matter, I find it very amusing. |

I'm fairly sure you don't get the CSPA charge, it just disappears.
Good way to generate tears though. |

Not it didn't. Max CSPA is 1,000,000. So either you're lying or he was charging 295 isk and you can't read |

A much better way to greif people with the CSPA:
Go to the trade channels, especially the "other" where time codes are regularly traded-set CSPA charge to 1 M isk (max allowed) Advertise PLEX for 20 M less than market-and ask for convo only. You will get great tears as people repeatedly convo you and you close the chat half way in-claim you dot disconnected. I know, I know-it is really lame, but it is nice to grief people while waiting for your suicide induced GCC to wear off. As an added bonus-people cry like little girls after the 3rd or 4th payment. lame but fun. One half star / of 4 stars |

The CSPA amount is charged whether or not you accept the convo's. (It occurs when someone invites you to a conversation, not when/if you accept it). |
