Haha, yeah, sorry about that... You can replace the sound with another one though, just replace the "alarm.wav" file in the "Ressources" folder if you find a nicer one.

Also, thanks a lot for supporting the developpement of this tool Very Happy

Eve001Tool 1.2.6 is out! (20/02/2011)

Here is the download.

Here is the changelog :

Bug fixes / improvements :
* Corrected (hopefully) random crashes
* Better icons for the taskbar. The icons are now files in the "Ressources" folder, so you can change them if you want.

New features :
* Added the possibility to pause IGB browing when an orange order is discovered
* Added the possibility to play an alarm sound when an orange order is discovered. (The alarm wav is a file in the "Ressources" folder, so you can change it if you want)
* Added "Advanced order filtering".

About Advanced order filtering :
It was brought to my attention that some traders are putting up what I'll call "whoopsies order" to confuse the tool. (A task at which they were very successful, until this version.)

Examples of such orders are :
* Buy orders put up with the margin trading skill, with an insanely high price, and a high minimum quantity.
* Orders of 1 tritanium to bait you into 0.01 isking with your order of 1000+ trit

To correct this problem, I have added a new window, Eve001Filtering

Explanation about the columns :
* margin limit : when not empty, the value entered in this cell will override the default margin limit for this item. (The margin limit is the figure below which the lines will turn red in the log, you can modify it's default value in the options.) Here you can see that I entered 0.05, which is 5%.
* Exclude order if minimum quantity is higher than : when not empty, the tool will automatically exclude orders for which the minimum quantity is higher than the number entered.
* Exclude order if quantity is lower than : when not empty, all orders for which the remaining quantity is less than the number entered will be excluded from the price calculation.

The other columns are self explanatory.

Here are some images to illustrate other changes in this version:

The main window. A few changes here. You can see that when orders are excluded for a particular item, the tools tells you how many, highlighted in red. Also, the margin information has been modified, so that the custom margin limit for the item you are viewing is shown.

The IGB settings. You can see a new button, "Advanced order filtering". Also, two new checkboxes, one to add the option of pausing IGB browsing when an orange order is found, the other is to add play an alarm sound if an orange order is found.

Finally, some items on my todo list : (I'm not forgetting about you if you asked for those) :
* Add a way to know which orders have been filled, cancelled, or expired
* Add the option to store several IGB lists. (At the moment you can do this by saving the "IGB_Items.ini" file in the Eve001Tool folder.

I have set it up where I can pull my cache data from the cmd line but I have no idea how you are actively using it with the tool. I am still having to hit export every time for it to pop up. Is there a way to import the created data from the .csv that is created?

If not, could it be possible to create a copy value in the log file? Pretty much what I am doing now is just setting swap time to 2, and spamming export then editing my buy orders at that time.

Hi, the tool automatically use the dumper program, if you set up the cache folder right.

For me, the cache folder is in "C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_games_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\257\CachedMethodCalls".

If you can find your base eve cache folder, then the market cache folder you are looking for is in :
\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\257\CachedMethodCalls

The "257" part changes with each update of the eve client, so you have to modify this parameter in Eve001Tool each time there is a client update.

This page should help you locate your base cache folder.

So it seems that it will work fine for one run through, but afterwords it won't update again. Do I need to clear market logs or my cache each time?

download a program called 'spacemonger' and monitor the cache folder tree.
You can see the dir the cache writes too as it writes as it flashes yellow on filechange; thats the folder u need to monitor.

Hi Eve001Tool users,

A bug has been brought to my attention today : There is an option to calculate your next buy price based on only the orders that are competing with you.

This option doesn't work when the market orders are being read by the cache reader, it only works when you export the market details manually.

This is probably because the information required for that caculation is not store in the cache folder, but rather calculated on the fly by the eve client.

I'm investigating the matter, to find a fix for this. A solution would be for the tool to manually calculate the distance between two stations, but I'm not sure that's possible without some sort of database.

I'll keep you posted.

Fly safe

Eve001Tool 1.2.7 is out 27/02/2011 !

You can download it HERE

In this week's version :

Bug fixes / improvements :
* Corrected a bug with cache reading, where the number of jumps would not be read correctly. This caused a bug in the "highest competitive order" option for buy price calculations.
* Added menus instead of buttons in several windows

New features :
* Added a way to save several item list for IGB browsing
* Added two columns in the advanced filtering options, to tell you how many of each item you are currently buying, and selling. This will help you locate which orders have expired, or been filled. See the new window look here

Howdy, been enjoying the program immensely. I also finally read your post ,and thanks for answering it back. I feel bad for not seeing it before.

Four suggestions I have

It would be nice (and maybe I missed it) to set the ranges we are willing to consider someone beating our buyprice.

For instance, where I am at there is one person at this station who will pay 600k for an item, but he only buys in station. All other sell orders below his are at 550k, and buy multi stations. Rather then destroy my margin (and potentially cause others in station to raise their price to 600k also). I'd like to be able to ignore his via filter on the grounds he is buying station only.

Second suggestion, if the logs could have a copy function for each of them (as well as making them orange if you are outbid). This would allow someone to to hit run on the igb, walk away and come back to a log list of all the items they need to change, and then be able to click copy the price to input it.

Third Suggestion I have is, while using the "pause when outbid", is have the ingame browser tool, have giant button we can reclick to start it up again, vs going outside the game and hitting ctrl-p

Fourth, and I'm not sure if you are purposely leaving this out because at this point it's almost bot like or because of how hard it would be to program. When the order pauses because our price it out of date force the buy order/sell order (it would be hard if we were doing both, so maybe an option to choose which gets priority). To our clipboard memory, so we don't even have to click the copy sell price we can just ctrl-v.

Thank you for your input !

1) I can add a column to the advanced order filtering to leave out the buy order based on the range. Added to the TODO list. (hopefully to this week end's version)

2) That's actually exactly how the log window is working right now, so maybe I'm missing your point ? Right now, lines are added to the log window only if the order for that item has been undercut (ie orange price in the main window). The line will be red if the new margin is lower than the limit you set, green otherwise.

3) I can try to program a JavaScript button in the IGB (or having a more colorful page, for that matter ^^), though I literally don't know any JavaScript, so I might have to do a little research before doing this.

4) Yes, I can put the new price in the clipboard when an undercut order has been found. I can add an option to prioritize buy or sell price when both need to be updated. Added to the TODO list, also hopefully for this week end. (even if I do this, Eve001Tool is not interfering with the client in any way, so it should be fine, but don't hesitate to ask someone at CCP if you have a doubt.)

2. Oh didn't know that those were only the prices I needed to update, thought they were all my prices (silly me for not playing around with it enough). Still having a copy button next to it would quickly allow for people to copy the prices.. Or if you want a challenge, make it so you can set your time limit between your copy value gets overridden with the next item. (so that way you don't even need to exit the game to copy each one individually).

3. Here is what I use for my market dump ,which does have a pause button/continue button. Maybe you can see what is in there. http://www.cncguides.com/zerohour/program9.html. Hell, I don't know if this is possible but if you want to get super fancy, have it restart up after hitting ctrl-v.

5. (new idea that might become a problem in the future, maybe you already preemptively fixed this).
So I know there is a cool down time of like 4 minutes between each edit. the only thing I can think this might become a problem is you are doing a relatively small band of items (like minerals) where lets say

Someone undercuts, you replace your price.

1 minute later someone undercuts you, so your client stops on it and tells you to edit it (but you can't edit it for another 3 minutes). You run through your loop again, which takes a minute and it stops at that one again, ect ect.

Program it for a value can only be replaced every 4 minutes.
(actually this just happened, although the easy work around for me, is if doing large bulks of relatively few items is just to have multiple orders that way I can edit them).

While I haven't tested this (and actually it probably should be pretty easy to test is it possible to have the browser javascript going on another toon sitting in the same station as your buyer? That way you can continue do stuff on your buyer toon while it is going on?)

So I tested it with another toon, I can run the javascript on another account and have it go to eve tools...

This then makes me wonder what would happen if another dump program is going on at the same time?

I do complete market dumps about every 2 hours for archival purposes/research.

Would this freak out the program, or could this actually be a useful tool to be implemented in here? (basically you have a list of a 100 items... it takes 2 seconds to go through each one, only 3-4 need to be updated every once in awhile. So now you have two dumpers running, one which is 1-50, the other 51-100).

The only problem I see is since the price config file is only 1, you'd just be running in parallel. Is there a way you can pull the data from two separate config files and then stop both (like you are doing now) when 1 of them gets outbid.

o/

1. I think the option "Only import orders from this station"
is broken since the last version.

I'm finding orders in the log which don't exist in the station while they exist in the second station.

2. the app wont show the station i'm trading in after i re-open the setting window(shows the first station in list)
also wont save the Checkbox "Only import orders from this station".

makes it harder to know what station i was checking for updates.

3. there's this main problem that i'm getting
when i'm done checking my first station, i clear the log window(cause some orders remain as i dont want to update them)
and stop the IGB server.
i go to the setting and switch to the second station im trading in and run the check for this station.

at current state the log wont show nothing until the cache changes.
which sucks, cause there are orders in the second station that need to be updated.
the cache got the updated data but the server seems to miss the check order against "my orders".
atm i'm forced to manually export the data as the IGB cycles through the orders.

ok, so is it possible to preform the check VS the cache again after i change stations?
i know u said something about it the last time we talked but i dont remember what was the conclusion.

ps: can u explain in plain words what's the phases for the IGB cache checking, maybe i'm doing some steps wrong.

Hi,

I changed the whole architecture for order loading in this version, so it's completly possible I broke something with multi station trading. I'll look into it tonight.

so is there an easy way to determine what market orders have expired? your tool has loads of stuff that i bought ages ago in the advanced order filtering thing and that seems to be very hit and miss when it comes to what orders have gone or not.

is it possible to make a function that simply compares the names of items from the main market order export that evetool uses to determine what items you are selling?

so like export from today has A B C D and then B sells out. tomorrows export will contain A C D and so your tool then goes YO HOMIE YO B SHIZZLE NEEDS RESTOCKING DOG?

Yes, in the advanced order filtering, there are 2 new columns, the quantity you are currently buying, and selling. So if you see a big red 0 in the "You are buying" column, basically it means : "YO HOMIE YO B SHIZZLE NEEDS RESTOCKING DOG" (lol).

Anything more than that for this feature is not planned at the moment, since the last version broke some things for some of my users, (I'd like to concentrate on that first), and I'm having less and time to work on this project. (mainly because it's crunch time in my real life job, which, you know, I'm getting paid real money for Twisted Evil.)

On a related note, I'm thinking of closing down the sales of Eve001Tool, because more users = more support, and as I've said, I don't have that much free time at the moment.

Edit, because it's late and I misread your post : when you export market details, the price boxes will go red if you are not buying / selling any of that item. So in this case, red in the buy price box means :

Price change :

Effective now, I'm increasing the price for Eve001Tool, for 100M when I launched the software, to 500M.

Several reasons for this :
* As I mentioned earlier, I'm having less free time for support. The price increase means I'll have less customers, so hopefully more time for corrections, and new feature development.
* The usefulness of this tool diminishes with every person using it. Ie if every trader uses Eve001Tool, then there is no advantage in using Eve001Tool at all. A higher price means a higher entry barrier, so less customers for me, but more power to you !

A note for my current users : If you purchased a licence when it was still 100M, the regular discounts still apply : 75M for the second account, 65M for the third and every one after that.

For some reason the advanced order filtering shows ten times the number of items on order than I actually have ordered. My cache points correctly to the sub folder within the machonet folder. I'm also manually clearing out my last market order (is that necessary?). Any ideas?

After some use, I think I agree with Devoider that restock would be very useful. I'd like to see the option to simply have the log show restock items in red (or some other obvious color). Or even a separate restock log.

I agree. Already there's the option to highlight/pause on those that stop on orange - hopefully the option can be added to also highlight/pause on those that are red.

It would be a HUGE addition to time saving.

The x10 part is bad coding on my part, it messes up things with some regional settings. Will be fixed in the next version.

I came up with this : http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/3526/restockindicator.png

Now lines will be added to the log under the Buy orders. If it is an item that need restocking, the item name will be white font on a black background, instead of the regular red or green. IGB browsing will pause and play an alarm if you enable these options in the settings when an item needs restocking as well.

Suggestions ?

Looks good Bom. I think the "out of stock" centric look would be very nice - would have settled for the typical red - but having the interface specifically show such items would be helpful.

ALSO. While I have you, I want to close the loop with you in game about the domain I'd like to pass along - it's clogging my account and I'd like to get that over to you. Could you touch base with me ingame so we can close this?

Thanks,

Looks good :)

Is there a way to save/load IGB item sets (even if it's just a ini file hack), so for example, I can decide just to trade minerals for a while, or if i need to replace my PVP ships, I can load a set that relates to that and trade furiously to put 25 more brutix together (lol, not telling you what for though).

I tried looking at the files and couldn't actually find it as a text file anywhere. I was thinking I could manually change an ini file name to back it up and then restore it with a copy of another.

EDIT:
Okay sorry if that sounded really obvious, it turns out that I'm running a duplicate of the program stored under /user/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/ProgramFiles/Eve001Tool which is why the .ini file made no sense whatsoever, as the other copy lists only three items which I presume are the minerals used in the trial download version. I can hack this myself now, but think it would make a good feature if this could be done in a more native fashion.

SOUND:
I'd love it if i could use my own sound file (or have a choice, some less abrasive ones maybe!) and also a volume control for the alert would be useful. At the moment it's a bit full on! Something like this perhaps.

There is indeed a way to store separate files for different IGB sets, it's in the IGB item selection window. There is a menu on the top left corner (press alt when you are in that window if you can't see it), I recently added the option to save multiple lists.

The sound file I use is located in the "Ressources" folder, you can replace the "alarm.wav" file there. (The new file has to be in PCM format).

Thanks,
FR

Hey Final, I'm really sorry I couldn't answer you earlier about the domain name, but I really don't have the time to deal with a website / setup a forum at the moment. Although I agree it would be great to have a more centralized source of info for this program, I just don't have the time. Sad

Might wanna consider that people would want to actually try out a tool before giving anyone any pay... As far as i can see the trial is not very helpful in determining if it would be useful.

But then again.. it doesn't seem to do much for me at all... just get blank window with everything greyed out, nothing selectable, etc...

Eve001Tool 1.2.8 is out !

It's a pretty big update, I hope you like it, I included most of pending user requests ! If not, shoot me an EveMail so we can discuss what you need.

You can find the download HERE

Changelog :

New features / improvements :
* Added a restock indicator in the log window. Now, if you don't have a buy order up for an item, the price for which you should restock will go in the log window. The item name will be white on a black background.
* Added auto copy of the price in the clipboard. You can select in the options if the buy or sell price should be prioritized for this feature.
* Added the option to exclude buy orders based on their range
* Now, if you hover your mouse above the label where you see how many orders were excluded, the tool will tell you exactly how many orders were excluded by which filters.
* Made the web page displayed by the in game browser prettier, and added a button : You can now pause / resume igb browsing from this page also.

Bug corrections :
* Corrected a bug with advanced order filtering, where the quantities would sometimes be multiplied by 10.
* Corrected a bug with multi station trading.
* Corrected a problem some users were having when using multiple instances of Eve001Tool on a single machine with multiple accounts.

And random stuff :
* Rewrote the entire market loading section
* Corrected some random bugs in the code
* Corrected typos in some labels

DOWNLOAD IT HERE

Also, I don't have the time to shoot a video demonstrating all the features of Eve001Tool, but I think it's really necessary at this point. So if you are a happy power user of Eve001Tool, and have the skills to shoot such a video, I'm willing to reimburse you twice the price of the licence you paid for the job ! So if you paid a 100M licence, you'd get 200M, and if you are one of the people who purchased Eve001Tool since the price went up to 500M, you'd be getting 1 000 000 000 isk ! Contact me in game if you are interested.

Awesome, great to my ideas implemented.

The only thing i'm seeing is the sell order/buy order copy. I'm not buying an item but I am getting a buy price clipboard(because that is my priority).

Not sure how easy that would be to fix, the only other thing I could think to do is be able to browse just your buy orders and sell orders and do those individually

Also, some reason some copy doesn't work (still a hell of an improvement).

Also I seem to be seeing my own bids as hostile (not sure if I messed up on install choosing folders but I have my market long and cache folder)
