The weekely request for new mining ship, pocket-carries and in particular today thread asking for tech2 drake let me wondering: what type of ship wold actualy be a true addition to EVE universe? what its really needed or wold benefit the gameplay?

So Im asking you, fellow players, what its your opinion on the subject? If you have an intersting ideia post it (without to much worrie about balancing since it can be let for later discussion), tell what ideia you like or if you think we dont need diferent ships say why do you think so.

Thank in advance for all ideia/comments.

My ideias:

Servant Sisters of EVE Exploration vessel
Frigate sized
1high slot, 5 medium slot, 2low slots, 3 rigs.
pretty low PG/CPU thus not allowing much in the way of a tanking.
5% efficience and 40% range of analyzers and codebreakers per ship lvl
7,5 % Bonus for scan probe strength per ship level
Role bonus:90% redution on CPU needs of scan probe launching (to fit expanded probe launcher)

Interbus Transport:
Around the size of a BC
1 high slot, 3 medium, 4 low, 3rig
Role bonus: Can fit External Cargobays(see bellow)
Bonus to agility and warp speed for ship level.
Base cargohold 400m
External Cargobays used only by Interbus Transport. low slot module. Some possibilities.
->General Cargobay: increase capacity by 40 000m. Penalise agility and speed
->Bloackage Cargobay: increase capacity by 10 000m, +1 warp strength +100% cloacked speed
->Ore Cargobay: increase Ore capacity by 30 000m, panalise agility and speed
->mainentance bay: increse assembled ship capacity by 500 000m(enough fo 1 BS), penalise agility, speed, armor and shield.
->reinforced cargobay: increase capacity by 15 000m, +50% shield, armor and hull amounts

I like the concept of a multipurpose (but not all at once) transport. However, the cargo modules/ship would need to be costly enough so as not to make other ones obsolete.

Again, with the SOE, it should also be costly enough so that it doesn't obsolete the other scanner frigs.

But other than that, I don't mind it. Especially if they looked nice.

sisters scan boat should have at least two high slots - cov ops. The sisters of eve are supposed to be the scanning corp so i would say basically a cov ops ship with better bonuses for scanning, maybe if only when used in conjunction with a sisters probe launcher and probes.

I would like to see some sort of POS salvage/reclamation ship (maybe also from the sisters) Not a ship that can reclaim any pos of course but maybe only those you are at war with (and have killed that particular tower - say into structure) also only to be used in non sov or wh space against offline towers. Would certainly clear eve up a bit and allow some isk to be made off all of those offline towers littering the place.

I would like to see a teir 2 t2 bc variant also - maybe a heavy ewar boat? (heavier than cruiser counterpart; better tank and firepower, less speed, targeting time etc; non cloaky) maybe a drake torpedo boat with bonuses to range and a myrm that can utalise 5 hvy drones (again)

I'd Like the Idea for an ORE Gas-Mining-Barge... I mean, there is not a single Ship out there wich has Bonusses for Gas-Mining.. such a ship would be nice for all the T3 and Drug manufacturers, even if it wouldn't be nearly that popular than other Mining-Barges.
I already inserted a proposal for the Ship-Contest (Beluga - Gas-Mining-Barge) , but however, CCP don't let it into the Voting-Mechanism, means that they don't think it Fit's into EVE... Neutral

The ore bay seems redundant, as you may as well fit a general bay.. Also, with these numbers, you may need to reduce lowslots, or else you will end up with 120,000m3 small-hulled haulers doing the rounds (before rigs). I would also avoid the "external" desciptor, as that implies T3 style model changes.

I suggested modules similar to this a while back as a revamp for industrials generally. CCP don't seem to be making as much out of the specific bays as they could, and this could allow for the "ship freighter" idea that keeps cropping up (they may want to get item drops and scanning working for these before dropping too many more into circulation).

In no particular order.

Tramp Freighter-
250k M3
Requires freighter 1
Move regular freighters to lvl 3
Justification: Hauler personnel shouldn't have to train through all of the mining and leadership crap to get an upgrade to industrials.

Drone T2 ship
Marauder version of Domi
Justification: Provides upgrade path to drone boats, the only offensive BS style with no upgrade out of T1

I think the same thing prevent other faction ship to obsolete the similar normal ship wold also works for this ship, just put it in SOE lp store for a ressonable price and offerXdemand works his magic. Also [racial] frigate allow the use of other ships whille exploration vessel only allow this one(and it can be a higher ranked skill).

The numbers can change (just swap general cargohold with ore cargohold and we have a quick fix).

The penalities for agility in those modules are there to make it turn/acellerate more like an orca/freigther whit the higher cargo corgobays avaliable, so you get the 120 000m woth of general cargobay but at a price. Maybe even make additional cargobays not be affected by Cargo rigs(they are totaly diferent bays).

Given my usual fits for exploration, you might want to have another look at the slot layout, Any probing in LS/0.0 without a CovOps Cloak on basically leaves you too open to be found and destroyed yourself, without it, you might as well leave the SoE Ship in HS only and grab a real exploration ship. When probing in my Anathema, I normally have an Alt/Corpie in a combat ship aswell to kill any rats, the Pilgrim can do most LS sites solo.

If Soe ship signature radious/sensor strength its low enough you can try to scan it for the wholle year and never get a 100% result. Its as good as a cloak for any pratical purprose except that people will know the shiptype because of directional scaner.
