If I were to salvage from a mission runner and that mission runner opened fire on my ship would I be the only one who could return fire? Would someone in my corp or my current fleet be able to retaliate as well? Better yet, is there a website I could bookmark with this info? Rolling Eyes

If you only salvage, the mission-runner cannot attack you without suffering the wrath of CONCORD.

If you take anything from a wreck, you will be marked as an outlaw to the mission-runner, and they and their player corp will be able to attack you without any consequences.

EVElopedia has an article on criminal flagging, and most other things: Criminal Flagging System

EDIT: Another one worth reading and memorizing is Combat Timers

The rules are actually pretty simple. You just have to keep in mind that cans are owned by your player corp (if you're in one), not by you (show info on a can reveals the owner). So as far as stealing from (ore or loot) cans, you get flagged vs. the owner (which could be the mission runner's entire corp), but you can only shoot back at people who have aggressed you.

Remember: Salvager modules don't make for any aggro. Salvage all you want and laugh like crazy when the mission-runner opens fire on you. (then salvage/loot his wreck)

Taking any loot from a wreck/can will flag for aggro, so do your theft carefully.
