In God's Strength
Through the eyes of an Inexperienced Penitent

Tonight, my second night on trials in the on-going war against the rebel Minmatars, I have had the joy of bringing honor and Glory to God and his manifest. Upon reviving from Prayer Time, I had gone down to Providence to continue setArrowting up a mobile base of operations for mining during my long meditation times, when Laerise came onto the Comm channels instructing Guardian Zik, and myself, Lowly Penitent Main to arise in arms and prepare for battle. It was Captain Laerise's desire to "see the skies burn with God's righteous indignation". So stirred was my soul, that I quickly got into my specially rigged Executioner (TES Phoxe's Demise) fitted for rapid transport and made way for the fleet rendezvous in Kourmonen.

Our first patrol out saw nary a whisper from the elusive and cowardly rebels. However, the Champions of Light pressed on. Captain Laerise then had to tend to nutritional requirements. As I was docking, Guarding Zik suggested that we take on a Complex which he discovered. Weary from endless meditation and prayer, I chastized my body and reminded myself of the excellence of bring glory to our God. So I got back into the TEST Tigress of Kador, and made way with my retribution. We took out most of the aggressor's junk ships before being ambushed by rogue capsuleers. Guardian Zik sacrificed himself so that I might warp to safety. God Bless him. Luckily, he managed to escape the fight unharmed in his capsule and headed back to Amarr for provision.

I headed back to Kourmonen, and proceeded to patrol Huola gate at the suggestion of Guardian Zik. There, I saw Amantir Borg in his Coercer. Not moments after I arrived did a rebel jump near the gate and attacked us unprovoked. He was of course outnumbered and outgunned. Unfortunately, with lack of God's guidance, it is no surprise that he hadn't the wisdom to seek the way of peace. Instead he met his end. Brother Amantir crippling his ship while I gave little damage due to Crystals unexpectedly shattering.

Alas however, once my Crystals were replaced, I laid the final blow.

I then docked at Kourmonen determined to relieve myself from a day in starting in Amarr, progressing to Providence, and ending in Metropolis and the Bleak Lands. And alas, Captain Laerise commanded that we meet her in Eszur. I gladly went with the opprotunity to go forth into battle once again, for as a Zealot the call to Service God and bring Him glory inevitably stirs the fires of passion within my soul. The Captain was insistent on my increasing of speed and even instructed me to throw some of my slaves into the reactor. I naturally adjusted the the deuterium and energy flows to max out my flying (and my slaves were quite content with this.).

Eventually I met up with Captain Laerise, with Guardian Zik in Amarr on his way to meet us. The Captain and I engaged in several small skirmishes, however the rebels always tucked their tails and ran. We engaged a Firetail as well as a Stiletto on separate occasions. At the end of our night we rounded upon Hof gate in Eszur and were clearly outnumbered. We were 3, and they were 4.

Once I saw the fleet, I could not believe that the Captain had instructed us to engage. I knew that if I lost my ship, I likely would not have it replaced for some time due to the expense of setting up new colonies and operations in Southern Amarr. But I braved it anyway, and I knew... that no matter what.... one must ALWAYS do what the Fleet Commander says. So I targeted, and asked for God's blessing, and allowed my Dual Light Pulse Lasers speak the rest of God's vengeance.

The Battle.
I immediately targeted the Wolf as Captain Laerise instructed to. I then yelled at my chief engineer through my capsule intercom and asked him WHY IN GOD'S HOLY NAME the Interior Forcefield Damage Controls were not yet activated. I turned them on myself. From the corner of my capsule screens I saw Guardian Zik launching his drones with avengance and noticed the beautiful silk strings his tracking disruptors were pouring out. Captain Laerise was unleashing volley after of volley missles, and I continually saw the hull shake on the poor Wolf.

A sudden jerk and flash, and I noticed that Guardian Zik had nearly collided with Captain Laerise (I think Zik may have scratched the paint off Laerise's Vengeance). The inertial dampeners compensated when again another jerk. I looked at my targeting screen and noticed that four ships were sending volleys. At this point my shields were down to 2%. But not a moment later did I see the glorious eruption of the Wolf. "BENGAL BOB, FIREFLY fire at will and overheat EVERYTHING" shouted Captain Laerise over the coms channels.

"Say your prayers little ones, but before you do turn on the tech 2 Armor Reppers and brace for impacts!" i shouted to my crew. The relaxing humming of the nannites rushing to repair the the armor sprang to life. I was holding at 50% armor once the Firetail was dispathed. The Stabber began setting a course for me with my engines in sight, and I begged God to give me at least the chance to lock on and fire a volley. As projectiles tore into my armor and began tearing apart my hull, God granted my request. My first volley of laser fire was away, as I simultaneously heard the hull rupturing and The Tigress of Kador let out a moan before her reactor went critical. It was a majestic end, and I praised her for being a fine ship. My pod ejected successfully and I said a final prayer for my good and obedient slaves who volunteered for this mission, and for my two Khanid cousins who wish to serve me on this patrol. God rest their souls, particularly those of my slaves, who worked commendably and admirably towards their favor with God in their final hours.

The results.
PIE Inc. while outnumbered, lost two ships. My retibution was sacrificed for the Will of God, and Zik's Sentinel also perish. But alas, despite these losses, and being outnumbered, the enemy lost more. With 3 ships being taken down, and the remaining Stiletto fleeing in terror.

I must espescially commend The Empress' Ship which I was piloting: The Tigress of Kador.
She fought valiantly among the stars, sending atleast 5 enemy ships to their destruction her first week after being commissioned. And in her final moments, it took not one, or two, but the entire might of the fleet of four ships against us to bring her down. She did not falter until taking down two of her opponents first and engaging fiercely a Stabber class Cruiser.

A special thanks to our Fleet Commander, Captain Laerise, for expertly instructing and exhibiting grace under pressure, and even extending such an opprotunity of this magnitude to such a humble penitent as myself.

God be praised!
Amarr Victor!

Good to see some fighting from PIE.

Your enthusiasm for your work is commendable Rytha; take care that it not be tempered by the endless back-and-forth of the proxy war in the Bleak Lands.

I hope you find plenty of opponents to test your resolve against as your abilities and means increase.

((Don't forget that killboard posts are not allowed on IGS; leads to all sorts of "he-said-she-said" stat arguing nonsense))

Well the fight was not a bad one but not so surprising also. With three t2 frigates on side of the Empire which were basically tank, firepower and electronic warfare against four Republic forces with a fine Wolf and a bad to tank Firetail a teethless Stiletto as a tackler and a heavy Stabber tackling cruiser. I really don't count that vessel too much against two assault frigates.

With the Wolf dead I was surprised to see any losses on PIE side at all. The Sentinel should have messed up the firepower on Republic side badly.

So I say: well done Tribals! Not too bad on the cash side also I guess.

If the pilots had done anything but give their top performances, captain Laerise would probably have shot them herself.

Ah yes, the long standing complaint that PIE "never undocks"

It's clear that neither of you peruse the FW statistics - PIE is regularly in one or more of the weekly or daily top ten lists for kills or victory points. A little bit more research and you'll see PIE vessels regularly combating the Sansha menace or assisting our allies in Providence.

I knew that many considered PIE's abilities to be bordering on the supernatural, but not even we have the ability to acheive that without undocking.

If you are going to completely and erroneously misquote me, at least make it interesting, you twit.

And to think I was actually handing out some compliments to your pilots, probably the only time I've lowered myself to do so in several years. I see exactly what that sort of thing is worth, which is about as much as your whole organization.

Neither does getting camped by your enemies for a month in a station, anyway combat where Gods will is done and a victory is achieved is a job well done.

As for the loss of vessels and financial burdens one must bare while setting up colonies to do Gods will, look me up in space I am sure I have a quite a few stacks of quality Amarrian Assault craft sitting around somewhere that I can lend you.

Indeed. That would explain the losses on Amarr side, Merdaneth. But serious, nobody can say PIE doesn't undock - if it's on their term. F.I.A. once challenged them in a wardec and while we always kept our presence proudly small in the Empire they did not undock to fight us.

They claimed as we were no threat to their systems anymore they should not fight. But indeed our corporation always was fighting Amarrian influence and is a declared enemy of slavery, fighting for the freedom and cause of the Matar.

What we expected was a proud Amarrian corporation and not a stack of pilots that were smacking in local from their dry seats in station. It was a that disappointing war that I still remember it now. We had wars with civilian forces that were claiming Derelik as theirs that were fighting way better than this.

I don't think bad of P.I.E. at all but I really expected something better from them. Especially when they began to help the Caldari renegade which name I shall not speak for I would have to vomit afterwards, that was contesting systems in Metropolis by questionable methods. Such methods that Amarrian corporations like the First Praetorians proudly widthdraw their forces from that battlefield as I did myself.

It is their way of style but I think the task for a corporation with ambitions should not stop at being the lapdog of a false Queen. I really will not talk bad about P.I.E. cause I always respect my enemy, especially Laerise who I didn't have an opportunity to fight again after she lost her Punisher to my Rifter in my early days. But in my humble opinion they can do better than this.

Well, their fight was a beginning and I guess some green pilots had their first blood in this. And for this I salute. And flying home in a pod and rescue their lives is something an Amarr Militia pilot has to learn early.
