We've all been hearing (and seeing) a lot about the new character creation system. I've only got one question, which I haven't been able to find an answer to, will we be allowed to change race, bloodline, and the character's sex?

No. That would be a super-duper major announcement, and they would have made it by now.

You will be required to make a new avatar after the expansion is installed on January 18th, but you will stick with your current character background stuff.

I am hoping for that too, I think most people would have picked another option in the new editor than they did with the old.
I'm very happy with the new female Civire but some of my alts don't look anything like they did before and I can't possibly change them to even remotely resemble what I had in mind when I created them.

If changing races is too much of a hassle because of the racial starter skills, they could at least give the option to change bloodlines.

edit: If you're in favour of a free bloodline change please vote in the Assembly Hall in this thread.

The question ive had on this is will they require the change before you can play or can you skip it till a later date? I would hate to have to change 4 accounts and be rushed just to log on to play.

From the last dev blog that mentioned such things:

Do I have to recreate my character when I log on?

Since all of the old character assets will be deprecated, you will need to recreate your avatar if you don‘t want to look like a silhouette. You will not be forced to do so the minute you log in, however. There will be a grace period where players can be logged in with characters that have not yet been updated. The duration of that grace period has not been finalized.

Will I be able to change race, bloodline or gender on existing chars?

If you already have a character for which you need to redo your portrait, you have to do it within your current race, bloodline and gender. It‘s not impossible to think that in the future you may clone jump into bodies (clones) of different races, bloodlines and even genders, but that function will not be available on Incursion launch.

Well I'm afraid that just won't do for people who are faced with the new editor in january only to find out they can by no means make a new portrait that even remotely resembles what they carefully picked out of 12 bloodlines when they made their character the first time.

That changing bloodlines may "not impossible in the future" is hardly any reassurance. It effectively means it´s not even decided and CCP may as well abandon the whole idea alltogether.
And we know how long CCP can take to get new features into the game and it will mean at least a 6 months wait for the next expansion but it may as well take 3 years.

Any dev feedback would be appreciated because there´s a lot of players who will be severely happy if nothing happens.

There ARE NO differences between starting characters now that they have removed starting skills and given everybody a base of 20/20/20/20/19. The starting skills are highly negligible. If not a race change, bloodlines should be given as an option as the only difference between bloodlines is the roleplay factor.

By giving not giving the option to use the new character creator to the fullest in the next patch is doing a disservice to all your current members.

Yes or check the feedback thread.

I already made an Assembly Hall proposal to vote for a bloodline remake here in case you don't have signatures enabled.
