So I had 20 large chests filled with rubble after an excavation project and started thinking about building something with it. As I didn't want to have to dig (another) ginormous open pit, I started going through preview windows and taking screens so I could measure lengths in pixels and find a ship that I could build within the height limit and not go below sea level. As luck would have it, while I was going through the caldari ship list (blocky ships being easier to translate)the first ship that I actually loved to fly fit the bill perfectly. It's just a tad over 200 meters in length and the highest bit is around 55 meters off the ground.

This is still very early stages as I've only used the one block type to do the layout of it. Next will come exterior detailing and then I start working on the interior. No I don't have too much time on my hands, I merely spent time that I probably shouldn't have and didn't sleep nearly enough. Just finished the outer hull and took a few screenshots, now I'm gonna go pass out for a bit.

Programs used
TreExporter to yank the model
BinVox to convert it to voxels
ViewVox for the building plan

I don't want to even think about how many trees died to cook the stone after the coal ran out...

edit- Forgot about the image rule thing

Parts of it are... I forgot to tell binvox to hollow out solid objects when converting from .obj to voxels and didn't realize it til I'd already gotten up to slice 12. The parts I knew should be hollow I tried to work around but I didn't want to deviate from the floorplan too much. I'll be hollowing it out properly to add decks once I get the lights and stripey bits and such on the exterior.

As for a Drake, it's too tall to fit in the 62 meters between the height limit and sea level so a pit would be required. A pit that would contain roughly two and a quarter million blocks. That's not counting the ship itself which is a bit more solid that a destroyer. Besides. If I do a battlecruiser it'll be a Ferox. Either way it will be waiting until after I've finished this one and recovered from any burnout.
