Boost low sec by removing sec gain from 'lawless' 0.0

There is no point in awarding 0.0 ratting with sec gains since it's suposedly lawless and unmonitored space uncontrolled by the empires.

This would give a reason for people to be in low sec other than for pew pew or factional warfare.

0.0 bears can still have their improved isk per hour but not their sec gain, which they shouldn't need anyway since they are not in empire.

EDIT: (added from a follow up comment but useful in the OP)
This is not meant to be a 0.0 nerf suggestion by the way, it's just another consideration for giving a unique value to low sec.

Whilst it doesn't fit from an In-World Perspective (CONCORD reward people who do stuff outside of their jurisdiction, even if they can't get there themselves) I approve of this message, as it'll make 0.0 bears cry.

ibtm to Recycle Bin F&I.

Makes sense, though. Well, how would bounties be affected? Remove them too? \o/

Seems to be logical.

Whether or not it "works" in terms of how the backstory and all that fits together, it's already hard enough to regain sec status after you go -5 and lower. Seriously, like 3 podkills in low sec take 10 hours of "ratting" in 0.0 to erase from your sec status, and that's with doing battleships, and bouncing around systems one after another to maximize gain. I can't imagine how long it would take shooting frigates in low sec.

Well, you could always think about that before you start podding people.

I agree with OP.

0.0 doesn't take away sec so it should not give it as well. If you lose sec in low sec then you ought to gain it there as well otherwise accept what you are... a common pirate.

Simple: don't podkill. If you aggress someone in lowsec but don't pod, it only takes 2 BS rat kills to regain the lost sec status. After the lowsec rat boost, finding BS rats isn't that hard, I do it while roaming, and with a frig.

Don't shoot the frigs. There are now battleship rats in lowsec.

Granted it's a harsh suggestion in terms of increased effort but at least they have some battleships spawning in low sec now.

Maybe if this was actually to be considered at all they could look into increasing bs spawns in low sec too? Not the triple grands etc of 0.0 but at least a bit more consistency.

This is not meant to be a 0.0 nerf suggestion by the way, it's just another consideration for giving a unique value to low sec.

I brought my -9.01 to -1.95 in four evenings (say, 4 x 6 hours ) and one whole weekend day (about 10 hours) which means about 34 hours of gameplay. I spent one of the evenings in 0.0 and the rest in low sec (around and above Amarr).

Felt like ages.

0.0 was inconvenient like hell because there were a lot of bubbles sometimes with blobs. It robbed me of a lot of time so I went into low sec.

Agreed but in addition the only areas of 0.0 where you should get bounties/sec increase is npc. No bounties in sov space unless the controlling sov entity chooses to pay them. Makes no sense the way it works now, sov space gets enough income from other sources.

The problem with removing bounties from 0.0 ratting is it makes 0.0 ratting COMPLETELY redundant. Granted 'recent' changes like anoms have changed the altered the common method of pve but you should still be able to do your isk grinding in the traditional style. The reason I suggest losing the sec gains is to give low sec a true unique feature. 0.0 ratting shouldn't be nerfed too much and removing the bounties would be a step too far.

@Othran
So which other income sources are there specifically in sov 0.0? Let me guess: none.

Anyway, i suppose as good as any idea if you are selling ammo in high sec mission hubs, since it is the easiest way to make 0.0 deserted.

Sounds good to me. Sec should be an irrelevency in 0.0 OR it should be lost in the same way that it's lost in lo-sec.

The OP only suggested that sec boost from 0.0 ratting be removed, not bounties.

There are BS rats in lowsec, and you only need to kill two of them to offset the penalty incurred when attacking someone's ship. If you don't podkill it's very easy to keep your sec at 0.

I disagree.
If i got -5 or lower sec status, i see no reason why i should go from null to low sec only to increase my sec status.
Eve Online is already time consuming ( regaining the ISK lost from a destroyed ship and/or pod, etc ), i really don't want to spend more time to go from null sec to empire via low sec, just to sell one item. Or to stay in empire for max 2 hours.

And chances are to gain sec status in low sec with that kind of boost, are very slim: crowded low sec systems, gate camps over gate camps, belt ganking etc.
People will leave low sec alone and stop carrying about it, just because it will get over crowded.
Instead of gaining sec status, you'd lower it: killing other players, cause they're too many and you're not left alone.

Your ideas are raw and you need to improve the way you explain the implications of a major change.
Just typing 1 line of text about that kind of change, sounds more like QQ than a proposition.
