Deteis male looks too much like asian. Check this characters portait. I don't think it looks much like that of what it looks on new creator. I hope I get to pick new bloodline if this is going to happen. Because I have imagined this toon to look more like european whatever than it would look with new creator. Seriously. Especially eye section is bothersome. Beards could have lenght selection. So you could adjust the lenght of awesome hairs. Or at least more options. Also maybe I just missed some slider but I'd like to be able to make shorter/skinnier male characters than it's possible atm. |

Using Higher Shader Graphics : 2X GTX 460 in Sli I've noticed quite a few bugs myself the colour changes doesn't happen properly sorta have to be lucky for Colours to change. - The sculpting of the area between the eyebrows are quite tricky and any wrong move will cause the Char to look angry there, and fine everywhere else - More Facial expressions However, very realistic and somehow I've actually managed to make an avatar I'm completely satisfied with. HERENow trying to recreate this is almost impossible, I've come close but never able to completely recreate it. Any Chance This can be imported to TQ when it comes out? I do hope there are more clothing options. Don't want to end up like other MMO's where everyone's wearing the same stuff running around. Keep up the Good work though! |

AmarrCaldariGallenteMinmatarsome interesting results: Ni-Kuni Female, Civire Male, Deteis Male, Gallente Male, Brutor Male. also, Brutor Female has very variable face. well done. generally, no way to make females "fat". everyone looks athletic even with weight on max. photo-realism is very nice, but variety is lacking. more handlers, please. let me mess with those eyes and chins:) |

I'm waiting on clothing that screams 'baby killer' From an RP perspective, I've no idea how many pleasure hubs, drug factories, and colonies my various characters have happily wiped out for cash, but as much as I like them none of the current characters I've seen (except the hooded amarr) look like killers. Party girls, maybe. Baby killers, nah..... UI needs moar evil........ (and tattoos... lol) --HA |

I find it difficult to scroll through the different choices (hairstyles, backgrounds, etc). When I click the left mouse button to start scrolling to the left or the right the item under my pointer is selected. This feels like "I selected this but don't want to", I just want to scroll through the available choices. Maybe a slidebar or left and right arrows could help.
Sometimes when I click the left mouse button to start scrolling (in the window) and start moving my mouse to the left or right the body of the character is moving instead of scrolling through the choices. This happens after scrolling when the scrolling has not yet stopped completely, then trying to scroll further or back.
Concerning the deformation of the body with the mouse, the character is moving too much. It's like cutting the hair of a five year old buy. I think it would be easier to select the body part and using a slidebar to adjust the size.
I didn't get a warning when pressing "save" that my choice was definitive. I didn't knew that only one of the four pictures was used in-game.
When selecting another eyecolor I have to change the type of eyes before the color is applied.
Is it possible (on the testserver) to redo the character creation over again? Haven't found a way yet. |

Edited by: Nova Kierra on 28/12/2010 21:05:39Character Creation issues as of 12/18/2010: - When selecting eyeshadow or lipstick color or changing opacity, changes don't take into effect until you select another lipstick or eyeshadow.
- Graphic card issues with ATI Radeon Mobility 5650. When I select any hairstyle it seems to behave weird (i.e. flickering effect).
- Opacity slider under Eyeshadow make up does not work.
Oh and as others have mentioned scrolling through hairstyles or anything else for that matter is nearly impossible. Same problem with when you click on a different hairstyle -- it's unresponsive. Takes 2 or 3 clicks sometimes to select a hairstyle. |

Probably kind of a dumb request, but I'll make it just the same.
Would you consider allowing access to all outfit options for all races? For example, every race except the Amarr have a green sleeveless vest with buckles. It's one of my favorite articles of clothing, yet wouldn't you know it, my character is Amarr, so I can't have her wear it. |

Portrait "Random Error"
I just logged on, to test character creation again on my last "? portrait" character, Aya, since the first two turned out nicely. It took me only a few minutes to finish. After saving the new portrait, I noticed that my main character's portrait(Calisto Loveless) had suddenly changed. I'm not sure by how much, but she had long hair hanging over the front of her jacket before I started on the last character, and now she has a man's hair cut.
I hope you fix that before the update.
I also had a problem with "TOPS" tucks not working at all while any "OUTERS" are applied.
All in all, the portraits looks great. Cali |

The biggest issue was when I first started the creator the head of my character kept flashing. I had to click the "low quality" character option then restart the client. That fixed the problem. Edited by: J''Rela on 29/12/2010 03:56:43 Reactions to the current build: -There had better be more options for hair/clothes/etc. at release. While I was planning on ditching it anyway, not having the *option* to retain my goofy hair made me kinda sad. -Likewise, the inability to recreate my Sebiestor's brilliant blue eyes and metallic red hair nearly made me weep. I am a big, manly man. I do not like being made to weep. -Is it just me or did the last update break a lot of things? A lot of UI text seems to have gone missing (to be replaced by what look like string names,) and some menus (eye shadow opacity-- now impossible to adjust, since the pop-up menu will collapse when you go to click on it-- comes to mind) which worked fine before are now unusable. Doubtless other issues -Character height needs to be adjustable. -While the female muscularity slider *does* have an effect, it is barely noticeable. This should be fixed. -A lot of the morph areas are unclear in their intent or counterintuitive in their use. For example, adjusting a female character's waist from the right side, it would seem that dragging to the right will increase her girth while dragging to the left will decrease it. The opposite is true. -Sliders. I know you don't want to do it, but sliders would improve control and feedback over the current drag-morph, not to mention making more obvious what options actually exist (what are these "tuck options" I'm only now reading about in this thread? Not good.) Keep the drag-morph, it's cool (if more than a touch unintuitive at times,) but we seriously need sliders. -Character design codes. It would be handy to have a quick text-based reference for the options we selected. Think Mass Effect 2. -It would be super-nice to have a system that tried to automatically approximate your old character model.

More feedback..
- It NEEDS to be able to reset face expression in case you start moving lips around and end up wit the "idiotic smile #1" pose (definitively I think this character creator is purposed to make mean looking characters, rather than happy smiling ones). But reset is a must. I totally spoiled my beauty queen yesterday as soon as it went into "idiotic smile" pose and there was no way to move her lips back to normality... - already said it and reepat: skirts/robes/dresses for females. I am not asking mini-skirts (although would be awesome, if we also got some fancy panties along with them), but, come on, trousers everyone? - Height, height, height, how tall are the characters? I WANT my petite busty main back, the busty side is OK, but she's as tall as the girl next door and we don't even know how tall is that (although, apparently, men overreach women by some fair 10-15 cms in the future... are icelander girls that much shorter than men?) |

Funnily enough, with the current baseline I tend to drag the middle cheek morph almost as wide as possible. Cheeckbones not nearly as much. Quote: Full lips
Hell yeah! Quote: Dark narrow eyebrows
Yes, I tend to go for more refined look. But still I don't like a pencil drawn line either. Also, play around with the color, sometimes you get a more natural look when the eyebrow matches the hair color closer, like with the redheads. Otherwise it can produce a rather "****ty" appearance and makeup heavy... Quote: long dark eye lashes
Probably, but this is not an option with the current creator. Quote:
Eyes wide apart (Don't over do things with this or any other facial sculpting. Small changes will do and still keep the face as a whole in balance.)
I tend to drag them as close as possible. As always it depends on the overall balance. Leave it where it looks good. Quote: High cheek bones
I tend to drag them as low as possible. Many baselines wont allow to go low enough. Quote: Narrow nose
Here tastes really differ, I really dislike the nose being very pointy and narrow. Quote: No eye bags
But can create more personality. Quote: Thin eye lids (Use makeup. As a bonus it will make the eyes look bigger.)
I like dark colours, the colored versions are harder (I'm not a makeup artist ) So with these, I tend to gravitate to certain type with most of the bloodlines: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-4/993391/Caldari_Deteis_female_collage_new.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images.http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-4/993391/Caldari_Deteis_female_collage_smile.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images.http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-4/993391/Caldari_Deteis_female_collage_smile2.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images.http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-4/993391/Caldari_Deteis_female_collage_emo.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images.http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-4/993391/Caldari_Deteis_female_collage_freckles.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images.http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-4/993391/Caldari_Civire_female_Apsidia2.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images.http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-4/993391/Caldari_Achure_female_hunter2.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images. |

I must say that the number of expressions is rather limited. You can't make someone look really angry, for instance, the eyebrows and eyes don't allow it. And to add an "undo" button to the portrait screen won't be an unncessary luxury, I agree. Quote: - Height, height, height, how tall are the characters? I'm afraid of that too. I already read rumours of all characters beingh exactly the same height, shouldn't it be possible just to increase your character's legs and body length? Btw I think Caldari Civire still look the best! |

Edited by: Apsidia on 29/12/2010 13:56:23Edited by: Apsidia on 29/12/2010 13:47:26It seems to me that Race Achura looks on European, unlike the old editor where there were really Chinese faces. Caldari Achura MaleHm... this character looks familiar... like an old actor... Meanwhile, new characters on flexibility of a mimic are almost as similar to descendants Jovian who have genetically deleted to itself of emotions. Basically, we certainly do an avatar, almost, as on the passport, but it is game and a choice should be more. Never know, what character it will want to you. There should be a possibility to represent on the person everything: the zobnyj pirate, the sly fellow, the haughty person, the silly person, a nice face, disgust, irony, weariness, fury, a grin, surprise, laughter, concentration, impudence, threat, scepticism, interest to bite a lip. In this stage we can't create many and many of them :] Emotion MasksMale EmotionsFemale Soft EmotionsIt would be healthy, if there was a possibility not only to close and open a mouth, but also to grit teeth (muscles on the person thus should be strained and cheekbones) to change a bite (the lower jaw is pushed forward or back). The upper and lower lips should move separately from each other. Interaction points - center and lip sides. Lips generally are very mobile at the person. For giving of a smile or a gloomy look it would be necessary to move for cheeks, that would result expanding or compressing lips and a face skin. Cheeks move to the left, to the right, upwards and downwards. To the left - extension of lips with pressure of a cheek (becomes a bit thicker and it is stuck out). To the right - narrowing of lips with a relaxation of a cheek and step-by-step pressure of lips (the form of a kiss which with the uncovered mouth turns to a letter "O", and on cheeks there are troughs - dimples). Upwards - pressure of muscles of cheeks and point offset which corners upper and a lower lip, upwards - to the base of the seventh tooth of the upper jaw from jaw center follow. Downwards - a relaxation of muscles of cheeks and point offset which corners upper and a lower lip, downwards - to the base of the seventh tooth of the lower jaw from jaw center follow. The lower eyelid, at the maximum upper position would create effect of that the person to blink and on the person there would be wrinkles, and sacks under eyes would rise upwards. Then, Malicious and a stare-> emotion when to the person it is ridiculous, would be regulated by eyebrows. And all it is necessary on a step of creation of a portrait and emotion of the face. p.s. I very much wait for the moment when it will be possible to edit the character on new, and very much I hope that when to me will suggest to change once appearance free of charge, I will find for this purpose in the editor everything that to me can be demanded. I very much love this game and I respect your job guys. |

Lol, you should have spent considerably more time tweaking. Your new "nu" is almost as good as hitting the randomizer button. No offense meant Unfortunately the devs have decided that the common denominator for Intaki is impossible long nose bridges. Also the current eyebrow choices limit the creation somewhat. The biggest omission in your new rendition is that you have drawn the cheeks way too much in. So with raising eyebrows, puffing the cheeks and compositing them so that the whole is somewhat balanced, the best I was able to produce is as: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-4/993391/Gallente_Intaki_female_nu.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images. |

Edited by: Niccolado Starwalker on 29/12/2010 16:07:53 The plus: Very well done characters, with fluid and natural movements in body and hair etc. BRAVO!
The minuses: A little sterile and cold toned characters. Too few choices in character look and utility appearance
OK: I have not tested it very much. Just a few hours today. The absolute first impression was: WOW! But after a while generating character I found I was "stuck" with the same character expression and look no matter how much I randomed the character. Maybe its because its locked to a certain race. The negative for me when it comes to this is: upon my first character creation I chose race based on just the look of the character after generating a dozen ones from different races, and when I was happy with the Intaki, thats what I ended up as!
Now, I am not truly happy with the Intaki and the male choice. I simply feel that the females have larger selective choises (Only one long hair available for men for example) and the intaki does not look the way I want it to. And since the character creation this time will have much larger impact than it had back in 2005 with the coming Incarna, I might end up with a character I am not thoroughly happy with! A sad thing after playing this game for 5 years, and for someone who is quite attached to his current character look!
Now, I know this is not complete yet, but this is my impressions so far. Be they wrong or right - I dont know - but thats what I feel so far. Therefore I hope you will open up for free choice of sex and race; after all, races and sex should not affect gameplay anymore, so I see no problem with it, and it will make those of us who chose race and sex upon creation based on look more happy.
Thx! :)

Looking good CCP. I asume more choices will show up in the final version (hopefully!).
However:
1. HEIGHT! Where do I define the height of my character. It makes little difference now, but when Incarna hits we will end up all having the same height!
2. White hair. I could not get it white in a male gallente char. Closest I could get was a buttery color.
3. More male long(ish) hair choices. Very limited options now (I think 2 iirc).
4. I assume options for tatoos, jewelry, head gear, implants will make it in the final version. Just mentioning them in case they drop off the todo list.
Once Incarna hits, please let us switch hairdos, hair color, jewelry, clothes, etc. I assume this is also planned, but it's again worth mentioning. |

It would be nice, but CCP has stated that we are not going to able to change our height. They said it would lead to midgets and max height characters. I guess the real reason is technical hurdles. Or perhaps there's just not enough resources at the art department? Quote: 4. I assume options for tatoos, jewelry, head gear, implants will make it in the final version.

I don't see height as a problem. Just cap it at 5.5ft as the shortest and 6ft as the tallest (or some numbers like those). Enough to allow a certain variation so that when you look at the crowd in Jita they don't all have the same height.
Regarding Tattoos, check the mean looking minnie chick at the Incursion site (http://www.eveonline.com/en/incursion?utm_source=newsletter51&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter51). Her tattoo looks pretty good so they may have already figured out how to pull them off. Go CCP!

- Tooltips when hovering over sections display over the "refersh" icon making them harder to read.
- Eyeshadow color-dialog does not allow opacity to be changed - it fades from view when you try and change it.
- Eye colour does not update until you change eye styles.
- Secondary hair colour is applied inconsistently.
- In general, colours from pickers are a long way off that rendered.
- Boot colours in picker are a very long way off that rendered.
- Selecting a morph point has a different effect depending on which angle you're looking at the model. This is actually cool, but it's less intuitive than I think you think it is.
- Tuck options great but buggy - selector shows 1/7, but can only get 1,2 and 7.
- Colour choices of clothing don't go wonderfully together. Some kind of colour picker/style picker combination would be great.
- Please can we have a reset pose button for the portrait taking stage?

Sorry if any of this has been said in the above posts. I have just tried to create my minimatar main character and i want to know a few things. Where are the face spikes/ tattos and why is every item of clothing available awful. I spend my time in minimatar ships none of those clothes are practical at all. Is this going to be sorted as its all WIP or are we all stuck looking like we buy our clothes from the nearest department store.

This, pretty much. Even if it were possible to do extremes, the fear that everybody would make either a midget or a giant has been disproved by any number of other games. But really, if CCP made that excuse, even they must have known how lame it was. As to the Gallente Intaki--and between this most recent post and his other, I'm beginning to think Oportone is just a troll--to claim that you can't get an attractive female is just silly. Within about five minutes, just going for all the most obvious choices, I wound up with a female avatar who looks sort of like Christina Applegate--and I think she's pretty damn cute. http://uatu.net/uploads/slideshow.jpg Please visit your user settings to enable images.(Click for large version)And by the way, CCP, if you want to throw some money my way to redesign your various NPCs, I'd be happy to take it. ;) |
