And now, for the Christmas season, we get the first part of a story about a soldier and a religious scholar, walking through the desert under sun and dark stars, looking for a strange treasure. This meditation on religion and belief takes place in times of EVE past, and is a prequel of sorts to the Black Mountain series.

"The Book of Emptiness, Part I is a new EVE Chronicle written by CCP Abraxas.

Enjoy it, folks. As recently noted, the second part, coming out just after Christmas, is the end of the biweekly pipeline. It's been great fun Smile

It might be an incredibly nerdy nitpick, but the chronicles describes as being happening 1500 years ago, only a short while before the Amarrian Empire started their reclaiming and expanded into other systems.

But the Timeline shows that the Amarr build the Hedion gate more then 2000 years ago. The last other nation Athras was conquered almost 3000 years ago. The stories descriptions reads as if the events of the chronicle happened much earlier then mere 1500 years.

Thats one more reason for Abraxas to stop writing for now and focus on getting the canon right Smile

It says "right after the Moral Reforms had concluded and the Amarr Empire had begun its tentative steps towards further exploration and expansion". According to that same timeline, Moral Reforms happened just around 1500 years ago, and that was before they proceeded to enslave the Minmatar.

I read through the first few paragraphs and felt the story was delivered too flat; not enough to suck you in from the get-go. Abraxas, where's the evil? Are you losing your touch? *gasp* Most of the time your stories are more psychological. Anyway, Ill bide my time until part 2 then read them both together. Half-finished stories are evil (hey, maybe that's where Abraxas put his evil? hmm...)

All I can say is this was beautiful. It was very nicely done and made me sad that the next one was not ready yet, but I do look forward to it.

I have to say I will miss my chronicle fix. However, I suppose someone had to clean up EVE wiki sooner or later. Look forward to how this concludes, hurry and finish what you're going to do and come back to where you shine Abraxas. :)

Nicely written - this is my first time reading anything of the Eve Chronicles.

Looking forward to the next part.
