Who are the Enheduanni is a question often asked, I've long considered it obvious, but continue to see speculation over their identity, and never noticed anybody else actually spell it out.

Lets recap on the biggest clues.

The Enheduanni are the sky gods.
The Enheduanni are masters of non-linear teleportation. They can transport themselves, ships, materials anywhere in the eve universe.
Their command of sciences mean they can produce any technology they need or desire.
The Enheduanni technology is beyond even the Jove understanding.
The Enheduanni can produce agents with perfect legends or even take control of any character in Eve and make them their agents.

The Enheduanni are the more powerful entities in Eve, more powerful than any Faction, any capsuleer(Players), even the Jove(GMs). The Enheduanni can bend New Eden to their will. The Enheduanni are ...

You forgot this line item:

"The Enheduanni are a lame and poorly thought out idea that everyone is totally sick and tired of and should have died in a fire pre-conception."

Your list is now complete.

The Enheduanni are a lazy narrative cliche.

edit: basically what boma said, but condensed.

I think he's trying to say that Enheduanni are CCP devs.

Adding my support to 'nerf the enheduanni' ideas... Where's the fun in having a storyline concept that is just 'godlike' and futile fighting against. The idea of them being Devs and all mysterious is fine, but when written into the EVE storyline it becomes just annoying. Some super-powerful omniscient omnipotent organisation with sleeper agents everywhere that can control ships at will, appear anywhere at will... just not fun unless we know that they are killable.

Where does it say that?

If you believe they are Deus Ex Machina all you have to do is find the machine, sabotage it and blam realize they are not very godlike at all. I believe we already have found the machine that is.

The Enheduanni are not just a simile for a Deus Ex Machina, they are Fridge Brilliance, once you have had that epiphany you will understand there is nothing contrived about them.

The Enheduanni are a characterisation of the Anthropic principle. The Eve universe has a purpose, and the Universe it's self will enable that purpose to emerge, other wise it ceases to exist.

Capsuleers share more in common with Schroedinger's cat than with Gods.

Wyke Mossari:
First, you make a lot of claims about the Enheduanni in your first post that I think are not correct. Could you show where you got those ideas.

Second, fridge brilliance, this is could be, if taken somewhat differently than you seem to take it, utter genius or just funny. Otherwise I am kind of meh to the whole fridge brilliance thing. Or I just dont get it. Explain please.

The problem with the epiphany is that if things are unclear or uncertain people have a natural inclination to fill in the blanks. You dont need truth to have a special reaction to gaining deeper understanding of something.
If there is a singular epiphany build in into the Enheduanni storyline and it can be reach by most than that is a very nice thing. On the other hand if it is some meta idea epiphany I think it sucks. There is no Meta, get over it.Shocked

Most of the clues are straight from theocracy chronicle and none are particularly controversial with the experts, Enheduanna .

Really?

Still, Fridge Brilliance. Funny.

I've read Theodicy about four times and I will likely need to re-read it a few more to digest the information about the Enheduanni a bit more thoroughly.
My impression of their ability is, they might be good strategists and great executioners when it comes to manipulating their plans....they are fallible and not nearly as omni-present as the OP or even the Theodicy story seems to indicate.

My two basic theories regarding the Enheduanni is that they are linked to the Takmal given the capabilities both are rumoured to possess. Perhaps the evolution of that empire. The other theory being that they are possibly some offshoot of the Jovian first empire that they don't like to talk about, which may explain why the Jovians, according to the Theodicy story, are trying to fight the Enhudaunni's influence.
I'm still digging through posts and stories to see if either of those theories can be supported. Frankly, its not something I an expect to findout the answer to, but I do use it as a place to start looking.

My theory is that they are the Sleepers. I say this because the sleepers are NOT human, but its widely accepted that they USED to be human. Who is to say that they can't communicate through wormholes and impose their will on others? Capsuleers might be immune to their control simply because of what they are.
