SO this movie came out apparently I never heard much of, never saw and ad, just saw the name and was "western movie with ninjas"

So I thought, ok sure sounds fun.

It was awesome! It's got that old school style of westerner movie with the slow drawn out drama, you know, the reason most kids these days hate western movies. With action scenes that are more deliberate, (I'm not a fan of samurai jacks whole RAWR nothing but killing style)

Now I know I might just be a fanboy of westerns but I'm really confused about this one. I look up the reviews of this movie and found that people think it's really terrible.
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the-warriors-way/

I mean like Pluto Nash terrible.

And I just don't get it, it wasn't a terrible movie, it wasn't lord of the rings but it had more plot than avatar and everyone ****ing loved that movie.

So, did anyone you guys see it? Did you think it was trash?did you like it?

I highly recommend The warriors way, it's got an old school style story, that whole lonely samurai feel to it (the blind swordsman anyone?) and the action is top notch! Great effects! It's even got the past his prime sharpshooter archetype, which I haven't seen in years.

I mean, I love old samurai movies, and I loved old westerns, and they had even less action moments. Maybe like, one fight scene in the whole movie type of deal. Maybe this type of movie just doesn't have a place anymore?

what do you think?

I pay zero attention to movie critics. If a movie interests me I watch and form my own opinion. Even Rotten Tomatoes. They liked Pootie Tang even less and that has not stopped me from watching that movie 3 times Laughing

I will have to check The Warriors Way out in the future though.

EDIT: Not sure if you have seen it but Seven Samurai is the ultimate samurai moive. Some may say it was an anti-samurai movie but that is not really a discussion that needs to be made for that movie. The Western adaptation to it is The Magnificent Seven.

The title reminded me of this other movie I caught on tv once that had a similar title. Was made back in the 90's I think (maybe even early 2000) and it dealt with this black kid who was basically a really good assassin who worked for an Italian mafia boss. He got into that career because as a boy one day he was being beaten to hell n back by some thugs and the crime boss basically walked up and capped all of them so he felt he had a sense of duty to work for the guy and throughout the whole movie he talks about the way of the samurai. It's actually a little sad that he dies at the end.

Rotten Tomatoes and their audience disagrees with you by a few percentage pointsRazzLaughing

Kidding aside, Ran is directed by the same guy, Akira Kurosawa, and a movie that I have not got to viewing out of his repertoire. But it has been bumped up the viewing list with your recommendation. I have more of his earlier movies on the list that will take a back seat.

think of Ran as Kurosawa's take on King Lear, with a heavy dose of nihilism.
