My question would be, I forget how many years they said maxing out your learns it would take to pay off. Either way it was a great deal of time before those bonuses really made a difference. I know actually few who trained all the way in the game, but that also means there are probably a lot who did. Though it seems the masses probably have not. So, those of us who actually took the time to invest in the long term gain from the game, which the playing field has now been evened up for everyone. Is there any extra "gift" for those of us who were looking to the future of this game, to reap the benefits of having already maxed out what everyone has now been freely given as a "gift" to those who did not?

Nope, in some ways it is getting nerfed, as written from another thread, you are losing a potential 72 sp/hour. But hey, they wanted a quick and dirty way to fix it.

You got the gift of enjoying the benefits of the learning skills from whenever you trained them until now. You also get the gift of getting those SP you spent back to use however you wish. People who did not train the learning skills to very high levels do not get as many SP back, nor do they have as many SP as someone who did and started around the same time.

Barriers to entry will be reduced, which makes it much easier to convince friends and newbies you meet ingame to stay around, which also means more people to shoot at. YARRRR!!

Isn't that enough?

(I have 5.3m learning SP to spend, never want to make any new characters, and couldn't be happier with this change.)

Quick and dirty? They've been planning this exact change since early 2009 (http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/11/26/massively-interviews-ccp-greyscale-on-the-eve-christmas-gift/), possibly even earlier. If you have a better suggestion that would be simple and fair to most people, I'd love to hear it.

Alrighty; over the year and few months I've been playing I never got on just as they were releasing a patch... So I wouldn't know.

Question, will we get 24hours worth of SP added to our accounts after this extended downtime has been completed? I hope so Smile

I'm not sure why do you expect to get 24 hours worth of SP cause this concernes only the learning skills. And you should have set a skill to train during the downtime.

Not really sure why do you expect the CCP to give you any SP more than the ones you spent on training the learning skills?

I agree 100%. At first I thought this is not going to be fair to old players who invested years in this game. But actually it is the same. Old players will get maxxed learning attributes as same as others, but on the other hand they will get the SP they invested in Learning Skills and still be in a great advantage for all the skills they developed so far. So my opinion is that it's all good. The CCP found a good way to incite interest in new players, while the old players are not damaged in any way.

Sorry, but how long does it take to train, IDK, let's say 4 milion SP if you're training 72 SP/h?

Hmm, as I remember reading on some post some time ago, it doesn't really matter what race you pick. The only difference in the beggining is that you get some starter skills that are related towards your own race, but you can overcome that if you start training skills for some other race. Or am I wrong? Question

Just be clear: I don't think it makes no difference what race is your character, I know it does on the long run. But I think in the beggining it doesn't matter, cause you get the same attribute number of points, SP training bonus. The only difference is the starters skills you get. Right? Question

Ok so this all sounds very good, especially the death to learning skills - who needs to learn how to learn?
However, where are all the notes that let us know if the patch is on schedule for an on time delivery?
I am sat by the PC begging for the deployment so I can allocate those skill points to other slots and there isnt a single thread from CCP to let us know if it is going to plan and on time. I'm waiting guys...

If you already have tens of milions of SP you don't lose an edge when compared to newer players. Older players like you who had the full 5.3 mil SP in learning are affected in the same way, so nothing to get worked up about there either. You can also distribute more SP compared to people who don't have the full learning SP. Please don't tell me that this will make your game worse because it's kinda ridiculous.

Your other concern - your avatar - you'll soon be able to redo your avatar. Wink

Hey update forum! I've been looking everywhere now, log-in game screen, eveonline facebook page, eve gate , here, but the last message I see from CCP is from the 12th regarding the 24h delay. Even game log-in screen is not updated. Did CCP guys sleep over? I don't understand why it doesn't say anywhere that Update has now begun and is on schedule etc... instead it just says the old message that update is delayed 24h and will begin at 10am on the 15th. That's today.. so has it started? Is it on track? Did a giant vulcano wipe out Iceland? Shocked

Any sign of life from CCP would be appreciated.
