I don't use Facebook much (or have a lot of friends for that matter), so I'm not even gonna bother to participate in this. Good luck with asking as many of your friends to vote on you for those who will. |

I detest Facebook, and if I need to create a Facebook account to vote I won't vote. If that's the case CCP is doing some horrible stuff, they have the infrastructure to actually handle this themselves! |

'The' caldari battleship, stahlvogel, needs the bloody perspective fixing on the front. From the line art that blade's meant to be vertical, but from the 3d view either it's slanted or the ship's badly twisted. |

I like the fact that you made a contest like this, but like other that posted I have no Facebook account either, I don't like everything I do being saved, checked, controlled and saved more then it already is. Wouldn't it be more logical that evegate would be the place to vote, at least those accounts are about your virtual alter ego. |

What do you guys think is more likely - that the CCP Artists ran out of ideas and want the community to do their job for them, or that the CCP marketing team wants to get the word out for EVE?
The whole point of this contest is the Facebook like button. They want you to broadcast EVE to all of your friends. Is that really a big deal? Vote on a few ships and show people how cool EVE is?
What would be the purpose of the voting being tied to your account? How does that get more people interested in EVE? You already have an account, or you wouldn't be complaining here. I personally think this is a great idea. If you don't like it, then don't vote. Suggesting that CCP remove the marketing part of a marketing campaign is more than a little foolish though. |

I complaint, becouse we told CCP many times, community vote will be a major disaster and a FB vote will lead to even a bigger one. I worked hard in the past contest to submit ships and i will not do this again, i will just ignore the whole contest. Pherhaps i will anyway post a useless crap hoping to get in semifinalist(by posting a suitable submission) just knowing that is impossible to go more than that without a good fb account(with many friends/groups ecc). Plus as told by many FB is hated by many, as i hate, and let us complaint on the poor choice. First Deviant then Facebook, what's next?!? Anyway i have to say thanks to CCP that at least listen to us, this is not a sarcastic comment, it's just they made another contest as we asked and knowing that the corp of the game activelly listen to even little groups of players is a very nice thing. Will play eve forever on these basis :-) |

Hmmm... I'll have to create a new entry AND revamp my entry ship to the previous contest. It seems that others will do the same. At least, from what everyone is saying, that's what several people will do. Unless I'm mistaken.
All in all, it sounds like fun! I enjoyed the last contest, until DA screwed it completely.

Awesome! More Minnie ships that look pieced together with leftover parts, just not the leftover parts even the scrap yard turned away! Love Stalker.
Don't so much love the voting mechanic. I'm having images of macro's hitting "Like" for a couple weeks...
Three different sugestions for CCP to consider that will cut down on fraud and bring in new players that want to vote (and hopefully will stay to become players). None are perfect but all are better than perma-spamming the "Like" button (which draws zero into the game):
1. Create a market item for each semi finalist (a token like the data cores or something) that players can purchase for one ISK, proceeds can go to that artist as a bonus for thier hard work. Highest "purchase" wins.
2. Give out tokens to be redeemed at the startup screen. Players can choose to redeem just one (thier favorite), which is either registered by CCP or, if not possible, contracted to CCP. Tally the most tokens/contracts, thiers the answer.
3. Agents set up in each region similar to COSMOS agents. They ask you "What's your favorite flavor?", you answer, you're locked out of the system after that.
Restricts the abuse to either how much ISK you're willing to dish out or the number of alts a person has. Plus, through advertising, non-players will create accounts to vote. Win/Win. |

Here is my suggestion for a new Minmatar long range scout ship. It is especially revered by the tribal elders for its onboard toilet facilities. Nobody likes to pee in their own pod! http://blackdog987.homestead.com/files/Spaceballs.JPGImage changed to a URL - Adida |

Stahlvogel and Fujin are awesome (tho the former would have to be changed from a german to a japanese name, too). Stalker looks uber awesome, and thats the problem with it unfortunately: Minmatar don't have sleek, hi tech looking ships.
That's my assessment of most eve ship models actually: They have character, but most are downright ugly.
PS: Facebook is an accumulation of things of today's internet I hate. This contest died for me the moment it was chose as platform. |

Edited by: BIZZAROSTORMY on 03/12/2010 17:44:41 So the last competition - was that anulled? or will the winners ship be entered into the game - and so will THIS competitions winner - making 2 new player designed ships to be entered into the game?
confusing.
Also: when the first competition was launched I predicted DA would make an arse of it. Did they? I missed the whole thing by being away. |

Personally I think on of the prizes should be a copy of the BPO of their ship 1 to 2 months before it is release on the General NPC market. Sorta like exclusive test models of cars release a year before being release to the mass market
Would make the markets in this area interesting. |

Marketing. These kinds of contests produce loads of visually pleasing designs, that everyone can find interesting and attractive without actually having to know anything about EVE beforehand. Facebook was chosen because it is hugely popular, has a voting system already in place and is a great opportunity for EVE to get visibility with people who aren't already playing the game. Having outsiders decide the finalists isn't a problem, since CCP prescreens the contestants before the public gets to vote on who gets in to the finals and CCP decides the winners. They know what will fit in EVE and what to keep out of the voting entirely to avoid propable problems with the public voting phase. This thing can still work out just fine, if CCP does the presreening part properly and thoroughly. |

So two things, one can i see what people are entering and two, somebody needs to make T3 frigates. Personally I love frigates and want a chance to go further than the lame little backup/tackler to a ship that can do whatever position you want, well.
P.S. why is nobody designing Amarr ships? P.P.S I'm saying this cause i dont have artistic skills and need somebody else to do this stuff. |

From the entries we've seen in the last contest I don't doubt that with just a little bit of prescreening that a hoard of monkeys could choose a selection of ships that will look really cool and most people will be happy over. I felt like most of the outrage (like my own) at the previous contest was "we've got to fly the damn things, we should be selecting the semi-finals" not "I hate DeviantArt, you should take the vote to some other overlapping-yet-still-seperate social subroup that I may or may not be a part of". Maybe I'm totally wrong and people were just upset that the ships were all out of character, in which case the new vote will be fine, but I felt that CCP understood the former when they said they were planning on re-doing the contest and letting "us" vote on the entries. It may be a smart marketing move, but I still don't have to like it. |

FUJIN looks like what a tech II megathron SHOULD have looked like. Very cool design. One of the few designs i`ve seen that actually looks like it`s tech II. Caldari BS by MotherMoon Caldari BattleshipThis looks like the caldari version of the macharial and it`s like the designer drew it straight out of Robotech.. Very cool ship..:) I really hope some of these make it into the game.. Also - maybe a few of the designs could actually replace some of the existing designs |
