Ok, I have installed Umbuntu on my Pc recently due to a Hard drive failure, and not having a copy of windows 7. I have gotten to the point that i can and have installed Eve. but I'm still having a problem. The game starts find but I can not get passed the user agreement. the window is there but no text. I have installed The fonts package...At least i think i have....I followed the instructions here
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1420330
As well as these:

THe last one did not work as the thing i was told to Check was not there....
Any thoughts would be great guys.
I'm hoping that it is not to big of a problem, as of right now i don't know if it is, because you kind of have to be able to accept that agreement to get any further.

You often need a virtual desktop to see the license agreement.

Start winecfg add an application by navigating to eve.exe or ExeFile.exe and set a custom virtual desktop with your desired resolution under the graphics tab. Try to keep your X:Y ratio (e.g. 16:9, 16:10, 4:3).

Also set WinXP mode for that application.

wine explorer /desktop=Eve,1680x1050 "D:\Programs\Eve\eve.exe"

Adjust resolution and path accordingly.

Ya, same issue here. The above recommendations have had no effect. Any other ideas?

There are lots of useful docs out there. Have you tried to go though the steps on the eve linux wiki step by step?

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Install_EVE_on_linux_with_wine

also the app database on winehq.org is full of useful info

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=22134

Your issues sound like the common ones witch have both been explained with workarounds in those docs.

Had the same problem. Found this on WineHQ

Can't read the EULA ?

1) Download winetricks http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks

2) run it and install corefonts : sh winetricks corefonts

3) Check Eve Online

That got it working for me.
