I dont eat meat but watched the whole vid and the one thing that went through my mind was.

"wow that guy has to be the worst chef ever, seriously wheres the herbs, the lemons, the potatoes"

I get that they wanted to make it full of meat but that **** is going to taste crap, at least add some cracked sea salt and pepper.

Seriously if you are going to eat meat be efficient about it and add something to it (butter just makes it greasy).

Bacon+Dr.Pepper& Butter sauce ... no need for that Evil or Very Mad

Also if you ever have eaten outside, well you don't eat meat, but people that go outside to eat at restaurants, most of their "culinary" dishes are just butter stuffed dishes with veggies for show. Most gourmet food is heavily influenced by butter, anyone that says the contrary is just doing strange oriental/veggie food, which in my mind (and taste buds) is a food type I find ... crappy.

And no, raw meat bathed in butter plus highly concentrated sugary drinks + bacon wont taste bad. On the contrary, it will taste heavenly.

In my home country we usually eat pork with hardly any condiment, just roasted with bacon for extra flavor ... The taste of meat is simply too wonderful to describe here, and thanx goodness Panama, my current host country boasts a very awesome tasting type of local pork meat. Pork meat here is simply marvelous, so delicate and smooth, you really have to fish the flavor to notice it.

Also, one of my favorite dishes is the heart/core of the "tenderloin" meat cut slighty bloody, as I enjoy tasting the meat flavor alone as it practically dissolves into my mouth, without drinks or any other distracting flavors.

When it comes to flavors, there's a whole world out there, specially on meats, as a side note beef/cow meat here in Panama is not that good. I still find USA/Argentina meat cuts to be better. The best imho are the meat cuts from Venezuela, local cattle there used to be extremly rich in flavor.

If you have high quality ingredients you don't need much seasoning or added stuff to make it taste good. (not saying that what you see in this movie is of any quality at all). If you have crappy quality ingredients you'll have to cover that up with a whole lot of extras (which will probably be even more crap).

High quality simple food not burdened with weird sauces, ingredients, additives and whatnot is the best you can get. Similarly, be wary of food that's drenched in crap, McD's burgers for instance; the only thing you really taste is the sauces, NOT the processed meat or fries.

this. spices were brought into the foods to disguise their bad taste.

Maybe originally, but they're pretty good in their own right.

Anyway that actually looked pretty tasty, but what the heck is with their table manners? Hello knife? Hello fork?

I would guess there was seasoning in the stuffing and meat gloop and the bacon probably has a bunch of salt so I reckon it has plenty of seasoning, I'm not really sure what lemons or potatoes have to do with it though (I guess potatoes would make a nice side (but wtf lemons!?)).

plus not to mention all the flavor from smoking the thing. plus there was plenty of rub on the pig.

after you bbq the meat, slice up a lemon and put the slices on the top. it's mostly for decorative purposes, but you can squeeze the slices on the meat for extra flavour.

you can also squeeze the lemon (lime juice is fine too) on the meat and let it rest for 10 minutes before you put it on the BBQ.

it works wondersCool

I think I am going to be sick.

It's like watching Emeril cook. How many flavors do you pile up before it tastes like nothing in particular except really bad chicken?

As for the BBQ sauce, I stabbed a wild boar to death in 2004 and my dad marinated it in a mix of cola and Jim Beam for 2 days. That tasted great. I don't figure on where they come up with that Dr. Pepper crap.

While I am impressed and drooling over the idea of such grand amounts of smoked baconey dead animal, I must share the above poster's alarm at the existence of a concept such as 'meat glue' Very Happy

edit: or 'meat gloop' for that matter
