I would like to be able to solo anomolies in C3's. I thought a Tengu would work, but I found it didn't have the dps to knock out the sleepers remote reps, and if I was webbed my tank melted. And no, I was not covert ops anti-bubble fit, I was fit for max dps and tank. The tank lasted all day long when not webbed, but I couldnt' break the RR.

So my question is, are there any ships out there (not freakin officer fit or something outrageous like that) that can solo C3 anoms? If so, what would they be fit like? Maybe a Golem?

You can do them in a drake. It requires really good skills and you will need to warp in and out. It takes forever but I can break the tank using named launchers. I'm not sure your max tank/DPS tengu wasn't able to do it.

You can do them in a Nighthawk as well and that is really effective.

You need to active tank your Tengu so that you can put some damage mods in the lows. You will probably need to use a deadspace booster to get the tank to work properly.

If your tank melted, im going to guess you went with the "conventional wisdom" spouted on the forums that a Tengu just absolutely has to have an afterburner or the world as we know it will end....

Try dropping the AB and try running a cap stable, dual small shield booster setup. This works better for soloing sleeper sites, since you will usually be webbed back to the stoneage, effectively making the AB a wasted slot.

As for DPS output, some of the sites with a lot of RR can be tough to crack, but it can be done in a tengu. Going to want good/maxed skills and some implants though for best results.

That was actually my setup. I had dual c-type small boosters, cap stable as long as the afterburner wasn't turned on. "melt" might have been a strong word, but my tank would not hold forever against the final spawn if webbed (I did this w/ a friend after doing it solo failed). I'll guess that it is my missile skills and lack of implants that kept me from breaking the RR. Also, I cannot use T2 heavies, but can use T2 HAMS, so I was using HAMS. While eft shows HAMS with better dps, would named heavies be more effective?

I lived in a C3 and soloed the Anoms in a drake. I didn't even have T2 launchers and I could break their tank and rr. I'm sure the tengu will out perform this. Every site took about an hour to finish and salvage.

I'd say up your damage skills if they're not already up there. Your setup sounds fine so either its something with your skills, or the sleepers are screwing with you :P

There will be 1 of 2 outcomes if you attempt to solo anomolies in a C3. The sleepers will get you (webbed/scrammed, too much volley damage) or the locals will get you (you stopped scanning).

Christ, yes you can solo c3s in any T3, just skill up.
Tengus can solo C4s (tank & break the sleeper RR) and solo tank c5s (a pair broke the sleeper RR, no RR of their own).

I would like to see the fit that solo tanks a c5 please..

I didn't believe it either at first, then last week we caught them YARRRR!!

http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1413630&page=1#3

Cost: 3bil each for c5s, 2.5bil was the c4 one (might have been overpimped and just swapped around his c5 fit, it was the pilot that got away from the c5 anom gank)

Sadly eve-kill is down again atm. ugh

Use your imagination, I'm guessing a 1b+ shield booster and some other expensive stuff.

Edit: Ops didn't notice the reply just above me.

Hmm i do wonder though... if you are soloing or dual boxing. it would seem better to me to just solo/duelbox in c4's with a much cheaper fit and an extra hml. seems to me you would make more isk/hr and lose less if/when killed.

I'm certainly one to favour blitzing, in my case it's c3s with t2 legions than pimping something for even a c4, so yeah if tengus can rip through c4s I'd do them over a c5. And bonus thing in wormholes, if you're steaming through the waves you're more able to keep gankers at bay as they'll have less chance to catch you at the hardest or lightest spawn times, or even find which anom you're in before you're half done. IIRC 6 T3s clear a whole anom in <4mins, and you can go slightly higher dps over tank (or pack some pvp mids) so are more of a threat to smaller gankers.

I can use T2 on both, and I didnt like HAMS and went back to heavies. HAMS have greater DPS on paper, but i had better results with heavies.

I did c3's in a drake or tengu for about 11 months worth of time. I was using a cap-stable large shield booster fit. T2 missiles/launchers and a target painter help a *lot* sleepers have fairly small sig radius, shoot precision missiles at the frigs, caldari navy scourge at cruisers and furies at the battleships and you should do fine.

I didn't use an afterburner fit either.

This can handle C3 and C4 anoms (or radar/mag sites without Sleepless safeguards). It is a cheap fit meant to be survivable. It is not the best though if you have more ISK to spend.

Tau, has a quick look, upgrade one rig to a T2 CCC and you can drop the ACR one and swap the CPR in the low for a PDS. Still needs at least a T1 co-proc for 3% CPU issue but now tanks 150dps more (with 1k EHP more buffer) and has a spare rig slot + 150 calibration points. Cap stable at 36% all Lvl5s rather than 46% with your original.

Then upgrade the shield amps to meta3&4s and you can reclaim that low from the cpu fitting mod, and save the isk on the AB with a T2 one:

Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

Lacks the CPU for a 2nd PDS to drop the T2 rig, but now there's spare low and rig slot to work with.
Like you said, spend some money and there's many easy improvements from either base fit.

Edit some more: Can fit a T1 shield booster Cap safeguard rig and drop the T2 CCC down to a T1, compared to the original it has more tank, EHP and a spare low, for very slightly lower cap stability, speed and increased sig.

People who want to tank more than what ~1200dps cap stable, or mr uber alt? Some pimped fits going to 3.5k dps tanks before heat and drugs.

If you're in a WH, ISK is the least of your concerns. I myself worry more about Proteus', HIC's, Nighthawks and boredom. After awhile, you want and like to play "pimp my ride" with your favorite sleeper ratting ship. It's not like your running out of ISK when you live in a WH so splurge a little and enjoy having nice things till you eventually get popped. Crying or Very sad

No need for that sort of tank unless you make a complete hash of running a C3 site.
6 Launchers all the way.
Only time I've seen 5 launcher Tengus used are when running the RR + Cap regen subs to spider tank higher level wormholes.

If a few of you would take the time to read just the actual thread you're replying to, you'd see we'd mentioned c4 and c5s, and pure T2 fits for c3s.

Quoting myself since some seem to have missed the points: cheap, survivable, not the best.

The upcoming change to Sleepers energy draining may change things a lot though. We will likely be moving to a passive resist spider tank; we currently use active hardeners.
