I am currently compiling information for planning. I am going to be uploading a list off all the different types of equipment / buildings for PI and their associated isk cost as well as CPU and Power usage and sotrgae.

What I havent seen is what are "good,ok, and bad" yield ratres for the various cycles and systems. So it would be nice if the community started putting them together.

Currently I have 4 plantes running raw materials in low sec.

Planet 1 is extracting noble metals in a .4 system where as noble metals consist of approximately 20% of a full bar

Current yield rate on a 23hr cycle is 2k per hour (1k per cycle)

Planet 2 is extracting heavy metals in a .3 low sec system where it is approximately 50% of a full bar
Current yield rate on a 23 hr cycle is 3k per hour (1.5 per cycle)

Planet 3 is extracting aqueous liquids in a .3 low sec system where it is approximately 80% of a full bar
Current yield rate on a 23 hour cycle is 2.6k per hour (1.3 per cycle)

Planet 4 is extracting non cs crystals in a .3 low sec syste, where it is approximately 20% of a full bar
Current yield rate on a 23 hour cycle is 1.5k per hour (750 per cycle)

Um... you do realize that this is a very incomplete inventory that you just posted.

First, is the 'bar' you speak of the planet quantity bar that shows in white? If so, then your extraction rates have no basis because the white 'bar' represents the relative 'amount' that is spread unevenly (based on 'heat') across the entire planet. You could have a full white 'bar' and due to an even spread across the entire planet your extraction rate could be horrible.

The rating you give should be based on the 'heat' of an area. Use the sliders and find out on a scale of 0-10 (0 being cold blue. 10 being white hot) what the approximate heat of the area underneath your individual extractor is.

Then report the extraction rate for 23-hr cycle with X heat in 0.X sec system.

This would be a better metric of what 'good' versus 'bad' is.

Also, the 'heat' you see may be different from the 'heat' someone with better Planetology skills will see. As if it wasn't complicated enough.

You are very correct about yield rates being different but it will also help people understand what expected rates are for all HOT spots. The rates I am speaking of are for white spots only not others, as naturally you are going to put your extractors in white spots. The bar I speak of is what you descrbied naturally.

I think it might be nice to put together at least SOMETHIGN so people can referecne. For example if all you are getting is a yield rate of 700 a cycle in a lowsec system this may be a decent yield on Non-Cs since the planet will be light on those resources anyway. If you are getting that same yield in 0.0 then clearly we are doing something wrong. As of now there is no basis at all to compare yield rates to. For mining there is, you know with skills at lvl 5 plus x equipment I get x yield. People can then compare their yields (just like fittings) to see if they are in the ballpark or out in left field.
