Hi folks,

I just wanted to ask if someone got eve working with the new ubuntu and a ati card. I am not able to get it working.
The steps I have done:
1. Installed eve in new wine prefix
2. renamed jukebox folder
3. Installed corefonts with winetricks

I can start eve and login to char selection. But when I select a char and enter the station the system will freezes, it completely hard locks.
I have disabled the sound completely and the system still hard locks on entering the station.

Has anyone a hint for me? I am using a ati 5770 in an Phenom X4/am2+ system.

hi Entropizr,

I had the same problem, ati 5650 (mobility).

Did you also disable eve voice ? You can only do this at the char selection screen.

I thought eve voice would also be disabled when I disable the eve sound completely?! Do I have to disable eve voice separately?

Ah I found the options for eve voice. Thx for the hint! Will test if the game runs now and report back...

Yes it works! Thx so much for the hint!
The performance seems a bit slower than windows but ok.

I noticed that I have to set the cpufreq governors for all cpu cores to performance otherwise the client and graphics are acting choppy. Has someone also noticed this?
