Errm... the latest news entry about this mass test being held next week links to the "incursion sites feedback" thread. Shouldn't it link to here?

Oh, and also, could some one do something (like moving posts to a dedicated thread) in order to not have every single mass test thread polluted by the ever ongoing debate of "what is 2M bonus SP on sisi anyway?" and correlative discussions?

Note on mass-test bonus skillpoint allotment on Sisi:

Since the SP are re-given each mirror there is a great opportunity to test out where you want to be later on with TQ (2 Million is a month of training time at 95% the maximum SP/hr rate you can earn).

Hi! I updated the top post with details about the mass test event tomorrow. We are mostly testing missile performance improvements. We will start in Harroule in low sec with a short POS-bash. Then we will move to the next system MHC-R3, have a short fight at the gate and we will finish with shooting at some NPCs at a planet. Maybe we'll add 1-2 additional steps on the fly, but this depends on the test results and how fast we are.

We are mostly interested in missile ships, but we want a good mix included other weapon types. It would be awesome, if we could have a few bombs (from stealth bombers) at the gate camp. Cynos will be provided, a few citadel torpedoes would be awesome in the mix.

Please update your clones before the test if possible, as the bombs might kill your pods (and I don't like to reimburse any skillpoints).

See you on Singularity in Harroule!

Game developing isn't exactly the easiest job in the world. Some companies are better than others, but developers are constantly under pressure. You work long enough hours, then you're expected to work OT, and then come in on the weekends. Everybody's deadline is your deadline. Miss a deadline, it's your job.

And think of the others...
  • Quality Assurance. You arenít paid to play games, you're paid to break them. It sounds a bit fun, but itís different when you need to document and prove how you broke the game, work overtime all the time, live on coffee and Red Bull, and can expect to be fired at a momentís notice Ė not fired because you did a bad job, but fired because thatís just how the job works. You werenít making much money to begin with, either.

  • Game Master. Most probably commit suicide after a month of the dull, repetitive duty of wading through abuse reports and indecipherable petitions of whiney kids begging for reimbursement of their Ibis or the ISK they lost to a scammer in Jita.

  • ISD. They aren't even paid.

I'm not trying to blame CCP management for anything, but this is how most jobs in the gaming industry work out. But many companies are different and though I can't speak entirely for CCP, their working conditions are probably better, being a smaller company than most developers/publishers. They've been maintaining this game successfully for over 7 years though, so I think we should respect the decisions they make for us. And based on your lack of effort to even format your post correctly.. you're probably too young to even have a job, so why are you complaining.

And giving the SP reward on TQ would attract way more participants than they probably want and would not be fair to those who could not attend. SP will never be given out any other time on Singularity anyways as most players will just use it to try out their super l337 raven fits instead of using the test server for what it was meant for. So be thankful for what you're getting.

The top post has been updated with information about the upcoming mass test this Thursday, where we will be testing some general server code improvements.

We apologize to all mac users, as the mac client will very probably not be available for this test (it is still being worked on). Furthermore EveVoice will not be available during this test. Please use the chat-channels for communicating within the fleets/

In other news: I have collected most static information about mass testing in an Evelopedia page: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mass_testing If you participated more often and you find anything missing or bad formulated, feel free to correct it yourself (if you are familiar with editing a wiki) or post here (and I'll take care of it). Thanks!

If you have any ideas on how to improve the mass tests, just continue to post them here. I read them all, even if I do not reply to each suggestion or complaint.

Improve mass testing? Hmmm...

Well the obvious, do not break my Mac client before the test.

Have a working client available the day before. Tell us when it is available, so we know a download will give us a working client. It lets me build some ships up prior to the test. Also remember it takes a long time for us Mac users to get a sisi client. With no sisi launcher tool, we generally got to download all 6 gig of a new client.

Different times and days. At the moment you do it during my lunch hour (US west cost) which is when I normally play eve anyway, so that's good. But when we go to daylight savings time the mass test is during working hours. Maybe move it a hour or 2 earlier or later, changing it each test, so all times zones get a chance?

TQ rewards would be nice. Maybe about the same rewards as an hour of mission running? That would not be game breaking as its no more into the EVE economy that if I has spent that hour running missions.

(Then again I sort of like the sisi SP, it lets me test stuff I would otherwise be unable to test.)

Odd, I thought moveme now used an automatic script to move people.

Anyway, your post time and date indicates you tried to join the mass test one day early. Maybe time zone confusion? Mass test times are always given in eve time (also known as GMT, universal time, or Zulu time) for both time and date. When you are in game the eve time and date are in the lower left corner.

Edit: typo

I will not miss you in TQ or Sisi for sure.

The question is: Wy someone with normal life (not like you) should participate to any test for some reward he will not be able tu use in TQ where he plays 99.99% of the game? -for glory? Doesn't change anything for blasters or hybrids since very long time anyway Wink

If you guys really want people for those tests give them something usefull instead of this .

For all the people complaining about not getting SP on TQ - CCP is NOT forcing you to participate in mass tests. So don't whine and moan about the way they choose to reward the people willing to help FIX problems.

You want stuff fixed, altered or enhanced on TQ? Well this is a part of the process.

Today's mass test is running on a new mirror and the new test server rules apply! More information can be found here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Test_server_rules

The mass test will start at 20:00 UTC in MHC-R3, two jumps from the new primary testing system 6-CZ49.

Overall pretty good, lagged out during combat but no appreciable module lag most of the time. POS bash was a nightmare though LOTs of lag there, including Module activation and overview settings.
Mass warp was ok but did get late lag a couple of times.
Also had an interesting Bubble effect which stayed with us after the first fleet fight and during the POS bash.

I look forward to providing help during the next mass test on March 15th. Should I just ask in the mass test channel as to what ship you would like players to use? I know u probably don't want one group of similar ships, but rather, a a wide range of ships for data purposes.

Sorry if this is off topic or silly ... this will be my first mass test. Hellz yeaaaaa!

I read 120 people on it, but I in the massquestions, masstest, fleet windows and there were hardly any people there and no one testing anything. Wonder what I did wrong :(

Hi, when will be optimal time to patch Sisi for Mass Test on 31 March.

At present to repair, 800meg download, to patch TQ > Sisi 1.6gb download.

Also noticed that there has been a patch almost daily.

Try to jump between builds is chewing up my HDD space and killing my bandwidth :(
