What you mean is Religious Fanatics - or Fanatics in general.

Nope, I think they meant Religion fullstop. Which I would agree with.

Wonderbras

From initial visual impression when you think you are going to be treated with an ample set of boobies you are disappointed on when inspecting the merchandise you find a far smaller set of mammaries.

A law should be passed that women who wear wonderbras during romantic congress be fined by having a horrifically large set of floppy doppilys smashed across their face.

Women have been enduring a similar disappointment for a long time to, hoping for a Bratwurst only to find a cocktail sausage.

I was thinkin the same thing about cars. We coulda had astronauts riding on horses on the moon with the result of stimulating a horse space suit industry as well as all the cool technologies they'd've had to figure out to launch horsies into space. Instead cars got invented and ruined mankind and relegated the horse to being nothing more than a mascot for promoting beer.

The invention of legal tender.

Nah, that was sort of ok. The one you're looking for is "debt". Or, "loans".

I'm gonna go with 'debt based currency'

debt is a feasible concept as is a loan, but currency based on debt is just slavery in disguise.

srsly what kind of assheaded monkey came up with that stupid idea?

This.

the modern patent system in general is a terrible invention. the simple fact we allow "Patent Holding Corporations" to exist here in the US is in itself lame. How can a company with no product and whos only business is to sue people or license other patents be a logical method of operation.

Funny thing is most of what is called Reality TV is not actually Reality TV. it is all stupid gameshows. for example, Survivor is not reality TV because it is all scripted.

COPS is likely the only truly reality TV show on the air in the US.

Reality TV is reality dysfunctional tv. Get a collection of wanting individuals on put them in front of a camera. But they will never put an 'alpha male' on such display of glib human anthropology.

The TV, period.

A device that puts the human brain into a light trance like alpha state, thus everything it says&shows is accepted without much resistance.
Programming is indeed an apt description. Regardless of how stupid or supposedly intelligent the shows are.

Microchips on the other hand made the development of lasers possible. And telescopes which can by now easily show stuff out there even from positions on the earth surface. Stuff like for example all those moon landing sites.

Not seen any pics of those yet? I wonder why.

Because you couldnt be bothered to look for them? Use google and you find the pictures, but i am sure those are faked...

So plan B, by a laser, point it at a mirror left behind after a moon landing, see it reflects. Then how exactly do you think that mirror ended up there? Moon landing was a hoax but they could teleport to the moon?

Ok I was thinking about this the other day, yeah odd I know :)

The one that jumps out at me is a strange one but true I think, have a little read and tell me what you think.

Microchips/microelectronics destroyed manned space travel.

Now the explanation, we as a race went to the moon without all the new fangled tech we have now, ok it was shoestring and dodgy in places but it worked. Now if you remove the invention of microchips in the 1970s from the space industry then cheap disposable satelites become impossible, therefore global communications dont work, right?

A global communication system relying on analoge computors becomes an interesting idea because you cant pack them up in a small satelite and throw them up 50 at a time and expect them to work for 30+ years, they need maintenance, they need human attention.

Enter the solution of a few large manned satelites as per Arthur C Clarkes initial idea for communication satelites from the 50s. When you have a world relying on a human population in space for such a basic modern "neccessity" as international phonecalls or the intereb tubes, then space travel becomes common and regular.

This leads to greater ability to go further, having the technology to regularly support a human population in orbit makes travel to the moon and beyond easier and more acceptable to the public.

Damn microchips, damn them all to hell, (in the past ofc)

I'm sure you OOP types have other inventions that destroyed the world type ideas, tell me about them :)

Its not technolgy that ruin the world, its peoples attitudes. The reason we are not in space now is because a lack of vision and poor leadership, and also lots of meaningless wars taking up our limited valuable time.

Oh, humans went there alright, but the NASA version of how it was done is preposterous.

The reason they went to the moon yet still had to fake a moon landing is the exact same reason you'd call me crazy if i told you. The public can't handle certain things.
