I'm not exactly new, but its been long enough that i mine as well be. The flashy stuff is easy to notice (and its far more intuitive imo) but what i'm curious about is EvE's internals...

I find myself here because i happen to be a dedicated gallente pilot, and having recently come back after a few year nap, I truly feel that i've wasted the last 15 million SP in just about everything i've set myself up for...

I know this is half a gripe(i am rather disgruntled), but I would like some clarification where it can be. ... If i'm accurate though (though i'd like to be horribly wrong) do say so i can stop training in gallente BS...

My reason is, if my speculation is correct, Gallente have not only been nerfed, but every one else has been buffed. Almost every ship in the Gallente fleet is sub par compared to their equivalents from my findings. Hyperion is useless if you can fly the Abbadon, for example. The PVPers i talk with tell me the Megathron isnt even useful as a blaster boat any more.

Hybrids seem to be even more worthless then they had been before(when they were just above passable). People are telling me (and research has shown) that unless the ship gives you a buff to use hybrids (sometimes even despite this), Projectiles are main choice now because they hit for as good, or better DPS, at longer ranges, use no energy, and can deal any damage type. I've never agreed with projectile weapons and how they were implemented (always thought it wasnt fair gallente were locked to just the 2 damage types) but this is ridiculous... Gallente throwing out their own weapons? Tells you somethings not quite right...

Racial traits aside...

I've heard bombers are nearly worthless now. I thought torpedoes would be a great buff for them, and the fact they use covert ops now is great. What exactly is wrong with them now? I came back with the thoughts of going stealth specialist... Had some idea's of a group of bombers with recon tacklers...

Shields = wtf? This brushed my mind today because i'm a dedicated armor tank... But today, i was in a fully T2 decked out Brutix, lined with all the firepower i could cram in (with a calculated manor of course). It was about 600DPS (i've seen these 1kdps builds and call BS, my projections in EveHQ show they cant get above 800 DPS, thats with all lvl 5 skills and drones, even with the mentioned builds)...

I was fighting some myrmidon and absolutely no matter what, could NOT break its tank. Period. It would shread the brutix before its shields hit 50%... Infact no one could beat the Myrm... so it wasnt just me (though i did do the most damage before i lost). One guy in a drake fought him for over 2 hours, both shield tankers, and neither could kill the other one... Now i know when i left, shields were good tanks, but they wernt ever this unbreakable...

I should probably mention that i'm not a avid drone user. Never liked em, but i put some on where i can, and perhaps gallente's have become just hard core drone needers... Again, way back when, drones were great, but you could do just great w/o millions of points in them, unless you wanted to, then you just flew a drone boat...

I know some people MUST be thinking that 15 mill isnt alot, which its not. This of course isnt a problem for some one with 80m SP, and can fly everything in the game with full T2 loads and blabla whatever... But thats not me, and its about 2 years of gathering SP for me.

So please dont throw the noob card just because you have 50+ million SP

Other then that, what i'd like to know is what exactly changed, where "its at" now, which direction should i head if i want to spec in PVP... Things like that...

Really, i like gallente ships. Amarr are cool (they are my secondary, and i WILL switch over if i feel gallente have just been too gimped)... I'm a gun person, not drones. I like to be the one fighting what i'm to kill, but this doesnt seem plausible as gallente any more...

BTW, if i'm wrong, put me right. TY

gallente isn't quite as bad as they sound, they have had the same issues for years, but hey everything else changed and now they look meh :'[

gallente is still good for small gang imo, problem with that I guess is that most people don't small gang pvp anymore. in bigger gangs you want good applied dps, which blasters don't really do, and dps > utilty, so meh domi.

my impression was that the new stealth bombers were great.

as for shields, the myrm has always had an amazing passive shield tank, but set up that way it usually has pretty worthless damage, so most people consider it a pretty useless fit. and yes bruitx is pretty much known for having almost no tank.

as for a 1k dps brutix, (overload the guns eft says 1101 dps with 5% damage implants 1013 without):

Well, not gana lie... Gallente look pretty suck right now... What is it they do now? Just drone boat?. And my current brutix is very similar to that build, and i have nearly maxed out skills (lvl 3 BC, and lvl 4 med blaster spec are the only ones that arnt) and the damage just istn up there. Also, the void rounds seem to do more damage then the faction ones...

I guess, what i really wana know, is if i should stick with what i'm already good at, or go minmatar/amarr? I have half my amarr skills trained, i could maybe in 6 or so months be as good with amarr ships and weaponry as i am with gallente's junk... It would take far longer to train up minmatar, but tbh they've always been competent ships...

I'd say that depends on what your goals are in game. I'm not a fan of the gallente drone boats outside of afk mission running. I wouldn't suggest them.

void does more damage, and has a little more optimal range, but has a 50% tracking penalty, has less falloff, and uses more cap. end result: most people don't use void. the damage is there. If you aren't getting it because of your skills, well that is your problem. Don't say it isn't possible though.

amarr and minmatar are both pretty good all around. I've mostly flown amarr, but I like what I've seen from the minmatar side.
