A fourth optional patch for Tyrannis 1.1 will be deployed during downtime on Wednesday, October 13 which will fix several issues reported to us following the release of Tyrannis 1.1. While the patch is optional, we would encourage everyone to apply the update to ensure your gameplay is improved. A full list of updated patch notes can be found here. The reason for deploying an optional patch is that these updates contain UI core fixes which are client-only changes in python. This process is much quicker to prepare, test and execute and allows us to prepare a patch much faster than usual. The EVE Online client remains usable whether an optional patch is applied or not. Following downtime you will see a pop up box once the client is launched informing you that a patch is available and if you want to install. If you click 'Yes' then the patch will be applied and then you can log into Tranquility. If you choose 'No' you will log in to Tranquility directly but none of the fixes will be applied. If you clicked 'No' in error you can still apply the patch by going to the ESC menu, General Settings and apply the patch from the 'Install' button there. |

So we are now officially on the patch of the patch of the patch for the patch of the patch of the patch of the patch for the original patch?
How many more patches will this patch require before it truly is patched?

Hmm… does this mean that we're back to the behaviour where all containers come pre-placed in a "standard stack", so that opening a whole bunch of (say) loot cans simply creates new tabs in a window, rather than open up a ton of windows?
I haven't had the time to check this in OP3, but in the second patch, the main issue form my perspective was that they opened completely separately from each other — the fact that they also tended to pop up where you least needed them was just an annoying side-effect. |

Magic 8 ball says: Definitely. Can't say I'm annoyed by this. The options seem to be to either trying to fix things quickly with optional patches or waiting god knows how long for regular patches, that have the same issues anyway. |

Well the whole mess should never of happened in the first place but i'll happily take a patch for a patch for a patch for a patch for a patch for a patch etc etc every week from now until the next expansion if it means ironing all these issues. Any eta on the eve mail bugs and increased client crashes CCP? Next weeks patch maybe? |

Interesting, because that was fixed last week. I was hoping to see a fix for double entries on the overview (sometimes) when you undock. I was really hoping to see a fix for text editing, because the notepad is FUBAR right now. |

Mail is messed up too, I hit enter in a mail message last night and it completely messed up the message...after I fixed what I was trying to type, it sent the mail to me instead of the person I replied to. Something in there gets all confused as soon as you put a carriage return/line feed in the body of a reply to a message. |

You're right. This was fixed in optional patch #3. I don't know why it's included in these patch-notes though. As for the mail/notepad performance and other issues, we're working on those |

How about a fix for the information widows resizing, and moving themselves to their default size, and location? Example: When i open the info window of a ship it always appears in the same location (middle of the screen) and always has the same size. It allows me to stretch it up, down, and wider, but not narrower. And the next time i open it reverts back again.

Great. Next Thursday, October 7, is in 2021. I hope the news guys have noticed it's actually the fourth patch by then. Well, I just hope the patch guys didn't cut-and-pasted that patch from the last one as well. |

You have two options here: 1) Wait a month for a big patch with lots of fixes. In the mean time you play a ~broken~ game. 2) Have a month with 18 patches (lolololol), one every 3-5 days. You only have to suffer a week of a ~broken~ game, then slight problems, being slowly squished, for the rest of the month. I'd pick #2. Seriously, who the **** complains about patches? |

Thanks for getting around to sorting the "escalation notification issue" CCP.
There is just one more that really could do with a fix and thats the corp details editing. When you fill this in or try to delete some parts of the text it "duplicates" alot of the text already there and causes it to get jumbled up and in most cases you have to rewrite the whole thing to correct it.
It does this with the Bio and notepad too. |

Hey navigator, Can you tell us if my suspicions are true? These new bugs all come from refactoring the UI-code. Are you refactoring because serious work will be done on the UI in the future? If that is the case, I think we should all stop whining and be glad CCP is working on the UI. A few small bugs that are solved with quick patches are not that bad if we know it is for the greater good. Oh, and can you tell us about the future UI-changes? |

The more I read, the more patches we get the more i'm amazed how the first patch got qualified for release. CCP said it them self. These are only client side problems and those...well those should be able to be tested easily. The whole UI went bonkers! |

This is why I think they made some major changes to the UI-code. More than we think. I also think this is a good thing because it means they are putting work in the UI. Yes the bugs are annoying, but if the endresult will be an improvement I'm willing to bite the bullet. |

I would say roll TQ back to before the original patch went live - my windows still aren't stacking right, I can't link stuff properly in chat channels, I could go on.
Instead, what I will say is simple: roll back to pre-Dominion please, kthanx.

People who believe that CCP owes it to its players, who pay good money to play their game, to do adequate (or at least, more than zero) testing before they release broken sh*t. If you don't have a problem with lack of quality assurance, you're part of the problem. Also, I sincerely hope that you aren't involved in software development of any kind, because I'd hate to see the abortions you'd produce and claim them to be code. |
