Currently, using the autopilot for a route passing through low sec systems is not viable. If, however, we had an "autopilot for X jumps" button this would stop being an issue.

Example:
I want to travel from Jita to Hek using the unsafe route. The route has 5 consecutive high sec systems, and after that 4 low sec. If I had this button, I could just set my ship to autopilot the first 5 jumps and then manually navigate through the rest. As it stands, I have to open up the map and pinpoint the last high sec system to set the destination, autopilot, open map and set destination to Hek, manual pilot.

Yeah, not really, no. Using the map is extremely inconvenient.

Fake Edit: The button might not even be a button, it could be a menu item, i.e. when you right-click the autopilot button.

What exactly is inconvenient about the map?

You can set way points and then under the autopilot menu select "Disable autopilot at each way point" for this effect.

You're kidding, right? I hope you are kidding. Ever used the map?

I admit I hadn't thought of that :D

But still, "autopilot for x jumps" would be much more convenient than pre-planning every single trip with waypoints and whatnot.

If it's easy to program and you have the time, I think it'd be a nice little feature.

If you turn the low-sec warning back on again, you probably have turned it off, should your auto-pilot stop you from entering low-sec in anyway.

Why, that's great, thanks Whitehound!
