Jhhheeeeezzzus..... stop your ****ing and moaning.

Yes problems arose with yesterday's patch, they came up with a fix the next day. You can't always foresee bugs that will arise, but its not like CCP sat on their laurels when things went south.

Anyway whining = annoying (yes, I'm prepared emotionally to be quoted and whined at)

Edit: This is of course not directed at everyone in this post

Dont mean any emotional harm by this ;) but when people pay for a service, they expect it to work.

The problem is, its not the first time this has happened and I'm pretty sure a lot of people would agree that the UI has always been buggy (One of the most buggiest UI's of a game i have ever used)

In my humble opinion, it gives the impression of "we don't care" and makes CCP look unprofessional, which can't be good for any business. Saying that it's good that CCP brought a fix out the next day isn't the point, with the amount of bugs that showed up after the patch indicated to me, at least, that there may be possible concerns with bug testing.

Just my two penny worth.

Peace my friend :)

lol people moan cos they have no life and spend there time in the basement of there mum's house playing eve all day, i'd like to see you make a game with no bugs or glitches, so shut your mouth LOL

YARRRR!!YARRRR!!YARRRR!!

hmmmm, nope, dont have a basement, particularly not my mum's (she's dead by the way) and, yup, i do have a life (married, kids, job and the responsibilities). Nope, don't want to learn how to program and write a bug free program, same as I dont want to be a car industry worker and build the perfect reliable car, because I all ready have a job which I do.

OK, ask yourself this question: can YOU truthfully say that you have always been happy after paying for something that is faulty? you've always thought "oh well, **** happens" ? You've NEVER taken anything back to a shop because its faulty?

And, BTW, Eve has always had UI problems, which, as I will mention again, is the one thing you ought to be getting right, its the FIRST thing your customers see.....

I expect to get a product that does what it's supposed to, I pay for it, it dosn't have to be perfect all the time (it would be nice if it would be), I understand that bugs will creep in sometimes, but all the time?

C'mon!!!

Should not be necessary, idiot ;) (not to patch it at any rate)

Edit: To add to this, I have patched my game, I just had to do something I should not have had to do to do it. So meh.

Sorry to break with tradition.
Good work CCP on live fire patching the patch so quick.

Ignore the pansies and trollers, most of us are satisfied. Unfortunately when you have a forum on anything, the moaners and whingers will always outnumber the satisfied because it's not human nature to post when you are content.

Biggest problem for me was the cargo/contents windows not stacking which is essential for me and the Market orders windows were screwed up when it came to looking at prices over a million isk. The noises were fixed too so all good.

Normally I can only do manual patching because the autoupdate fails. I followed CCP Navigator's instructions about hitting ESC in game, General Settings, and applying the patch from the 'Install' button. The process went the whole way through... it worked.

Wrong.

The "pansies and trollers" are the ones they need to listen to, or it won't be "most of us" for long…

This is easy to fix. The column width is just too narrow. Drag the column to be wider, close and reopen the window. Repeat for other windows as needed.

I have found one workaround for stacked windows that gets unstacked every time you log in. Leave them unpinned and they will stay in place. If they are pinned when you log out they will be all over the place when you log back in.

1.1 optional patch:

In space, opened a BPC to "show info". Window was docked off screen at the top. Could not close or move it. I docked in a station and it popped into place.

While I'm not the one you posed the question to, if you refer to my earlier post you'll see a few things that are now fixed for me as well.

Hope that helps.

I'm curious. Just how badly does CCP have to screw up before you will become dissatisfied?

This patch is remarkably bad. Praising CCP for this debacle is dysfunctional and enabling behavior on the part of the customers. Kind of like when some guy beats his wife, then the wife apologizes and tells him what a real man he is. "Beat me more. You know I deserve it."

CCP has fallen below even the simplest level of professional performance, and rebuke is not only justified, but required by the rate payers such that our expectations are made clear.

Continued tolerance for incompetence means continued incompetence.

If it aint broken it's about time we do it..

Windows popping up where THEY want to, not where you want them.
Planet materials moving around between spaceports. Is it alive ? .. Creepy..
Where are my overview when i undock.. Left ? , Middle ? or to the Right where it is supposed to be ?
And what about the ultra tiny font type when writing in chats?. ni looks like an r with a dot over itself. If it get's any smaller i guess i'll have to buy me a 40" monitor instead of my current 24".

Cant believe there are so many bugs in a, hopefully, well tested patch (I assume the test server are made for testing stuff before it is released on the live server).

Only have one word for a fix... Rollback

I'm one of the (seemingly many) mac users who downloaded the patch, tried to run it, and got an error saying files have been changed and that I needed to reinstall eve.

When I start the game it recognizes that I downloaded yesterday's patch (the non-optional one) and tries to run that, but doesn't give me the option to download the optional one. I can't access my esc menu because the "run non-optional patch" window blocks it.

My questions are:
1) Is there a way I can get to the optional patch out of game?
2) Will it fix the problem I've been trying to get addressed, which is the inability for many mac users to even log in?

EDIT: I got a response to my petition, running the mac repair tool fixed the problem.

The patch was a bit annoying indeed.

But what's really annoying: all these addicted, pathetic narrow-minded middle-class nerds posting their bs here.
I just say: you hate CCP, EVE is a piece of crap, EVE is dying, you expect CCP should change your nappies everytime when you feel unhappy because you pay incredible 10 bucks per months - but CCP ignores you? Then just terminate your account and get rid of your weird addiction.

And: NO, noone wants to have your filthy stuff :-D

Windows still wont stay put on the PC version after the optional patch. New windows always open in the middle of the screen as well, and never reopen in their last position.

This is effectively keeping me offline until there is a fix, despite it being such a simple problem. Guess I'm just that OCD about my UI.

I hate to feed the trolls on this one, but this patch really seems to of have done more harm then good.

An optional patch will be deployed during downtime on Saturday, October 2 which will fix several issues reported to us following the release of Tyrannis 1.1. While the patch is optional, we would encourage everyone to apply the update to ensure your gameplay is improved over the weekend. The optional patch will be included in a future client update. A full list of updated patch notes can be found here.

Following downtime you will see a pop up box once the client is launched informing you that a patch is available and if you want to install. If you click 'Yes' then the patch will be applied and then you can log into Tranquility. If you choose 'No' you will log in to Tranquility directly but you will none of the fixes applied. If you clicked 'No' in error you can still apply the patch by going to the ESC menu, General Settings and apply the patch from the 'Install' button there.

I had originally clicked 'No' not to install the patch. Then I logged on to the Administrator account, loaded up Eve, clicked ESC and went to the General Settings tab, but there is no 'Install' button there. Is there another way I can install this patch?

Installed patch. No obvious changes, other than for the first time since I began playing EVE (over 2 years) my client is aborting to desktop repeatedly (several times per hour).

Windows 7 64 bit

I run multiple clients at once (up to 4). On regular patches, I only need to update one time (since the same copy of the client is actually used across all instances). However, it appears that this optional patch needs to be updated for each instance. So, I de-installed it, then re-installed it for each of the four instances. I'll report back on whether that fixed the problem.

So far, so good. I also have noticed a consistent and significant improvement (i.e., decrease) in cpu utilization over the last two (required and optional) patches -- both on my W7 (64) and XP (32) systems.

Confirming the optional patch literally made every problem I've been having worse.

I think I've figured out what it is;

When I have stacked windows (for instance Overview and Fleet and Watchlist) the client automatically switches to any window that updates. For instance if people are moving around/leaving Fleet it'll constantly switch to the Fleet window in the stack every time; if Overview is changing (people going on/off grid) it will switch to the Overview every time, etc.

Also, performance is now so terrible that having two clients open with both characters on grid (even an empty grid, even if both cloaked) causes such lag as to make game unplayable.

Installed the (optional) patch to the patch (6 times, once per client).
Two noticeable changes. Fleet window acts normally and the chat window(s) remain at the size/position previously set.

Other than that, windows (info/cargo) continue to open in the center of the screen, no matter how often I move them, pin them, unpin them, they just won't stay put ! Double entries in the overview continue, as well as the "phantoms" that follow you from system to system. Probably some other stuff that I haven't tried yet.

However I can run six clients at the same time and no noticeable lag, so obviously there is not a distinct problem causing lag. Thats with all six clients running L4 missions, three clients at one and three at another.
