hi - so within the shields of my old corp's pos, someone had put a can as a 'graveyard' that they kept all corp-kill corpses in and the can just sat there for months at a time without popping. My new corp has just put a POS up in a WH and I'm trying to drop some cans for the same purpose but it keeps telling me I can't anchor them within the forcefield - does anyone know what cans can be dropped/anchored/left inside a POS?

(i'd ask my old corpmates, but they have all quit)

Beats me... I never tried to anchor a can within the forcefield of a POS. Me and my corpmates anchored GSCs 150kms away from the forcefield instead to store our personal stuff.
Those things can take quite a beating iirc so I wouldn't worry to much about them.

You can not anchor anything within the forcefield, but you can launch any kind of a container or jettison any item to create a free one. Containers within POS forcefields, and within a certain distance from it (I am not sure of the exact number) will never be removed from game during "garbage collection".

tl;dr: Use a jetcan.

Jetcans do not get the same protection, my and a corpmate verified it. If you jet one in the shields it will pop after 2 hours like usual.

I've seen anchored cans inside forcefields before, I assume you have to have the tower offlined to anchor it. To the dude who insists GSCs are safe outside the pos, yeah in highsec maybe. They're 1 shottable from a stealth bomber's bomb though.

You can just 'launch for corp' a regular container/GSC or such inside the post shields, it won't disappear. It won't let you anchor but it will stay there forever as if it was anchored (got a bunch around my POS guns for ammo and stuff).

Doesn't work for jetcans iirc.

It has 500k hitpoints. A single bomb will not take care of them. My math says you need at least 63. For a small one it'd still be 7.

Definitely not true. The only things which CAN NOT be anchored outside of the forcefield are POS guns and cans, IIRC. All other POS modules can (and should!) be anchored inside the shields.

Don't you mean: The only things that can be anchored outside of the force field are POS guns and cans.

If you can anchor things outside the force field other than guns and cans, like Taedrin says you shouldn't do so.

Best thing to do is to make a safespot and anchor a can there.
It can not be scanned down (you can so don't linger)
You need to open the can every 3 weeks or risk losing it.
Visiting the can is not enough, how I lost my treasure trove Mad, you must open them.
