To prevent many new players from skipping tutorials, without realizing how useful they can be. Put a small SP reward for the end of every tutorial agent mission.
That way the player can be more motivated to discover maybe all the career agents before embarking on their journey.

A small notice like [There will be a Skill Point reward at the end of this mission]
or just a note for the mission reward list.

But making sure that when missions are done, if the player attempts to do them again, the SP reward will be disabled to prevent any abuse of system.

Well the ISD's, many members in the NPC corp chat, players in the Help channel all along with people's brand new alts tell the actual new players to do them, especially when they ask something that is covered in the tutorial.

Just putting a skill point bonus for doing something that a real new player should do is bad idea as EVE is about the choices you make and the consequences that come with them. Who is to say a new player who can't be bothered to follow the in game tutorial which pretty much holds your hand to doing the tutorial agents will somehow react to being offered Skill points, I'm fairly certain many of them don't notice they even have a training bonus.

My position is no, plenty of people recommend that a real new player do them, some will tell them to skip it and go to lowsec/00 but not everyone is going to agree on what advice to give someone, tossing more goodies at them to do what is good for them isn't a good solution.

a way to do this would be to tie the double training speed to the tutorials:

Each tutorial completed extends the double training speed cut-off point.

When all tutorials are completed, you have 1.6million SP at double speed...

but then dont you set the precedent for performing tasks yields sp?

those people who got sp from tutorials would then start to want sp from missions, and mining, and everything else, and that wouldnt be very fun Sad

Tutorial missions are the only ones that yield skillbooks. When I was new, I had the impression that most (if not all) skillbooks are obtained from some missions. Rewarding SP wouldn't be different.

The issue I have is with older players creating alts and rushing them through the tutorials to get the alt an instant SP boost. However, if the SP amount is not large, this shouldn't be too big of a problem.
