I realize that EVE has been up, about, and healthy for quite some years now.
I am not sure if this topic has already been discussed but it is an issue that have always bothered me.
Assuming ship to ship combat is a big part of the game, shouldn't the basics be animated in a way that is at least believable?
When a turret misses, shouldn't the projective or beam travel past and not have direct contact with the target as if it had hit?
I know this is hardly noticeable in a large fleet battle, or perhaps I am pushing the realism a bit too far.
All in all I do believe it would add to the dynamism and the flow of combat.
Major concerns are "how" will the projectile miss: what angle, distance, relativeness to turret tracking speed
or signature radius. Also I noticed that ships do not have a "shape" structure in EVE as detailed coalition is often
unnecessary, making it harder for projectiles to look as if they have missed without touching a extended wing or something

but I won't make any further assumptions.
However unlikely, it would be great if this was implemented
