Greetings all,

I found a Cosmic Sig site called "Blood Watch"

First Encounter at the end spawned a NPC with the following name format:

Corpior Militant Commander

The Wreak turned out to be normal and not a commander wreak ( screenshot )

Then the next warp gate - after killing everything and pushing the trigger which was hiting the Blood Catherdal another NPC with the following named spawns:

Corpus Militant Overseer

Which also turn out to be a normal wreak and not a overseer/commander wreak ( screenshot )

What do ya think? Is this Normal ? Maybe the NPC are bugged and not working as intended?

I did it a few times I think only the last one should be a 'Dark Blood' wreck but might be just a misnamer. The first one is a regular mob and both have just a specific 'first name'. The last one did drop faction stuff for me though.

Umm so you are saying you have done this complex and had NPC's with a different name format?

Or maybe you dont recall the names?

I'm focusing on the 2 special spawns, both had commander in the name and didnt turn to be commanders but normal types -

Commander is their name, not their classification.

I've been an avid explorer for years and one thing I can tell you is don't even bother with watches, Most of the time you will get nothing and they rarely escalate. On a side note they also take to long in my opinion. Best to just hunt for Blood Vigils and the Mul-Zatah Monastery if your sticking to Blood/Amarr high sec.

The Blood Watch is just a harder version of the Blood Hideout, In the last room there is a chance for a Dark Blood frigate to spawn that may net a faction mod/implant if your really lucky, and if your even more lucky still it may be something worth something. If you can get it to go to the final escalation 4 in total if I remember right, it will lead you to low sec just like the Vigil. At this point you have a better chance of finding some good stuff.

Just make sure to stay on your scanner in low sec, When people start seeing wrecks showing up on the direction scanner the probes start showing up and soon after trouble.

Edit: If you are thinking those commanders are like the Null sec commanders you are wrong they are just named ships like the others said they drop nothing good. For deadspace and faction drops you are looking for any ship with Overseer in it but not always, or Dark Blood/Sansha ships.

Officer != Commander. In the game database these NPCs fall under different categories. Officers drop officer gear, commanders drop faction gear. In this case, these ships have "Commander" in their name, but they aren't considered "Commander" in the database sense, which is a subset of NPCs that spawn faction loot.

If you add the "Type" column to your overview, you will have an easier time identifying which ships are true Commander NPCs and which are not. If it's not a Commander, it will list the type as a generic NPC that has been re-named, i.e. "Corpus Bishop".

first room of any Watch typically has multiple spawns and the final is a Militant Overseer. Just a normal wreck but it unlocks the gate.

Second room typically has same, multiple spawns, with a Militant Commander. He too is just a normal wreck. But sometimes a (in a Blood complex) Dark Blood 'commander' will spawn. His wreck is classified as small/medium Overseer/Commander. The loot can will have usually 1000 units of faction ammo, a tag, and either nothing else, some meta0-4 bits, or some faction gear (or combo of faction item + meta0-4 bits). It's pretty random. Plex commanders like this are NOT officers at all (officers only spawn in true nullsec if I remember correctly, never had one yet myself).

In a Watch, you generally have to shoot some structure (Drug Lab, Mind Control Tower, etc) in the middle of the room to get the Militant Commander and/or faction npc to spawn.

I disagree with the poster above that says to not do the Watch. I've had some great loot drop from the faction rat, and I've had a lot of good escalations that have led to more faction loot and quite a few times some top deadspace loot (the lowsec final escalation). And if you have a salvager with you, you can get a good number of armor plates in salvage which is extra isk in your pocket or some new rigs.

I agree. Had an escalation to the end last weekend and it dropped a-type loot. Not a good mod sadly but still ... potentially good loot if it goes all the way. I don't bother with salvaging those though.
